Hi, I have Agile Messenger installed and applied to my list of today items but from time to time after reset it doesnt appear and I have to go into today settings and it will still be checked so i close the settings and then agile messenger WILL be there. Is this some kind of fluke if so what can I do to fix it. It's not a terrible inconvenience but it's annoying so if anyone knows how to fix that... HELP A NEWB.
No, it's not really a fluke. It happens with a lot of different today plugins. Here's a little thing I found yesterday that you unzip and then put in your windows\startup folder on your phone and it will fix the problem. I also created a link to it in cLaunch so I could be able to use it anytime I wanted to, but that would be up to you if you want to do that also.
Ok, i have an elf. of the phone variety.
No funny hats or curly shoes with bells on.
On the third panel of the HTC today screen,
the app launcher, it will no longer add anything.
I can click on the plus icon, and it will show me
a selecion of programs to add, but after clicking
"select" or "ok" it still wont show the item in
the launcher.
Anyone else had this problem?
More importantly, has anyone got a solution?
(and i have searched the forum. found nothing)
LOL....no really? I thought you actually got one of santa's little helpers
Hmmmm....never heard of that one. Did you make any changes to the phone recently? Install something, flash a new ROM? Have you tried soft resetting the phone? Also try to disable the HTC home plug in and then try to re-enable.
well, i did capture one a couple of years ago, but some rights organisation said it was politically incorrect for me to keep it, so i had to let it go.
anyway.
ive not changed the rom in any way. ive only just got it a couple of days ago.
but ill now try disabling it and enabling it again. see if it helps.
thanks for the idea
ok, nope, turning the htc home off and on again didnt work
and i didnt really keep anything and pretend it was an elf.
my previous comment didnt come out sounding sarcastic enough.
any other ideas?
If you havn't got HTC Home Customizer = get this and install on your device.
Not only can you customize the HTC Home plugin to make it prettier you can also add your app shortcuts through HHC and see if they will add that way.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319308
This is the link to HTC Home customizer XDA - This link aslo has link to official site - it is freeware and worth downloading and installing anyways.
well, thats a prety fantastic program. Ive finally been able to get rid of that weather tab that i never use.
Sadly, whenever I try to add anything to the app launcher through the htc home customizer, it throws an error and closes.
???
:edit:
Fiddle-De-Dee
Just played with it some more and got it working ok.
i was making a silly mistake with the HHC.
Thanks for your helps folks.
sounds like something got really messed up on your device, probably a registtry change or another app is causing conflict.
Did you get this device brand new?
Have you installed anything recently? If so Try uninstalling it and see if it is working properly now?
Have you been playing around with changing registry settings? If so, try changing things back to the way they were originally.
Maybe if you got the device used, someone else had made these changes.
A hard reset will reset the device back to factory settings and may solve your problem. Unfortunately, you will loose everything you have put on your device, apps, contacts, any customization. You may want to look into backing up some of your data before performing the hard reset. Once hard reset is completed, you can add your custom apps again and start customizing again. No big deal really if you have not done much with your device yet. I have had to do it twice on my device - Just time consuming since I had a lot of customizing already done and had to redo it. Now I know to back up my data before doing a hard reset.
edit: I was typing this reply before you edited your post. Glad to hear that you got it working. Enjoy
I've searched the forums all day and there doesnt seem to be an answer, basically when i turned on my HD2 today it would not load Sense on startup, it keeps trying then eventually comes up with "Unable to start HTC Sense, tap here to try again" i've tried that about 30 times and still nothing! anyone have any ideas of how to get it to start? (checked my startup folder and there isnt much there)
I had this once, after installing and uninstalling a mod which fu**ed up the system (donĀ“t remember which one). Only a hard reset could cure, but then again, maybe a much more experienced WinMo user could have solved it better...
I had a similar problem where I would re-start my HD2 and it would get to the screen where it loads Sense then it would re-boot. This would keep going round in cicles until I removed the battery.
It turned out to be MobiReg 1.11. I had to do a hard reset and not re-install this app.
I hope this helps.

Hi, I am author of that application and I must confess that this is first news that my application can cause this. If you are in mood for debugging, I would like to verify that issue and to discover root cause of this behavior.
I ran into the same problem with my HD2 with this app. Although mobireg did install and run for a while just fine on it for a while. So I think the cause of it was another program which I had installed. It was more for an older windows mobile version and I don't think it was for sense either. I don't recall the name of it but after I installed that my HD2 started to restart over and over. And after I wiped it clean it would still restart over and over whenever I had reinstalled mobireg.
If you have CHT, try reinstalling it. Has worked for myself and others.

I second it...It worked for me..
I'm having the same problem I've checked and unchecked HTC sense, re-booted, removed battery, re-installed CHT and still nothing is working. I go from one problem to another with this phone and i'm no computer wizard but a phone shouldn't be this much hard work.
If you've tried all the possible solutions in this thread and had no luck then Im afraid its hard reset time...
Any recent installs or did it come out of nowhere? (CHT / sense mods??)
edit, just noticed your cht comment.
Try installing a different version of cht.....(older or newer depending on which one you used last)
Long shot but you never know.....
Also try logging out of HTC peep and disabling the twitter tab from "settings - personalise - sense tabs"
just in case that up to its old tricks.........
Does anyone know why whenever try to open MobiTv i get an error saying it cant be opened, i have never even used it and i wanna try it out.

When you first open it, it makes you do a update if you choose to save it to the memory card it will not work and I don't know of any way to fix it other than possibly reseting the device. Even that is iffy as I don't know if that restores the apps that are stored directly on the phone.
Try it and let me know
What rom are you using. I never could get it to work with Kumars's roms.
im using the stock rom, Bsb tweaks, PHM registry editor, Cookies home tab, Pandora, I dont think it even worked when i first got it a week ago.
Need help !!!! HD2 changed wmm password?
I have microsoft my phone enabled and everything, but.... as it is my wi-fi and cell radios are disabled....
Before i went to take a shower, i soft resetted my phone using BsB Tweaks, and when i got back from the shower i tried typing in my password... said it was incorrect, and i flipped. but before that i let someone use my phone for like couple seconds, told him my password to the wmm screen, nothing more.. It was working fine with my old password for about the rest of the day.. after letting my friend use it
And now it just seems like it changed the pass itsself, I know how absurd this may sound, but I'm speaking the truth. I just have customized the phone soo far, that i Really do not want to hard reset.
Can the t-mobile employees help reset the password? or Am i just left with that choice.
EDIT: I think i might just go to the t-mobile store and exchange my phone.. 3G was slow anyways, the speaker sounded broken, and the hardware keys are very loose.
EDIT: I can't even type in my password anymore, when i type in the pass, and click unlock nothing happens/
me too
I happened to me too, i did a hard reset. the last thing I remember is to install a cab for sms without manilla. i rebooted and i was able to enter my pass but the ui was the normal windows ui to enter the password, the i reseted the phone again and the normal manila password came but i couldn't enter the password, after several times entering the unlock button didnt even do anything.
Now if i install something big in the phone.. i disable the password , reboot then enable the password.
T-Mobile HD2
This seems to be a bug in the tmobile stock rom, maybe others? It's happened to me before too using the stock tmobile rom. Theres a thread about this over on forums.t-mobile.com as well
The last thing I installed before it happened to me was the flash fix installer to enable flash in Opera.
Anyone have a FIX for this?
I just got two new texts, and well I CANT READ IT? and it seems like my radio is active now... hmm?
Do any of the experts know what is wrong with HD2 winmo password.
i have the stock ROM that comes with HD2 tmobile USA and i hadnt even installed anything.
I was just checking a few tele no. on the phone and left is went into standby and when i opened it, its stuck on enter password and the pass i set just aint working??
i am screwed, had over 30 small softwares which took me quiet sometime putting in.
CAN I GET MY HD2 TO WORK SOMEHOW, is there a fix???
please help me out, i seriously do not want to do a hard reset.
thank you.
Use a hard reset. Hold you volumn buttom up and down together then press power buttom the same time. It will reset to the original manufacture.
This really sucks, isnt there any way around it, i mean is HTC screwing with us or what??

Its a pretty common bug. No fix, just dont use a password. You can download apps from the Market for protecting your phone with a password. I guess it has something to do with the Microsoft registry, last I read anyway.
If you backed up your phone on your PC then its no biggie. Hard reset, re synce your phone. If you didnt, well... let this be a lesson. I learned the hard way. Always backup your phone.

I already had my contacts backed up, but had over 50 programs installed, and it will be a big pain installing all of them all over again.
As an owner of 20 HD2's (corp. account), I can tell you this has happened to 4 of our phones. It was almost a deal breaker. I can also tell you that TMO/HTC have aknowleged the issue and are working on a fix for it. (This comes from upper ups at TMO)
We HAVE to have Lock PIN's enabled, as we are a law firm and such.
For the record, it has nothing to do with anything you've installed, BsB or otherwise. All of our phones, except mine, are running stock ROMs (2.13) and Radio. No one here has the want or desire for 'frilly' things like CHT or BsB. The 4 phones that have "lost" or "forgotten" the PIN code were all stock.
Our interim solution, is to have everyone use MS MyPhone for backup purposes. Note that this does NOT back up anything on your SD card. Pull the SD card out before you wipe it, and you will not lose anything there. Can't speak for apps installed there, as I'm sure there are needed reg entries on the phone that will need to be recreated. That's a guess tho.
Short answer, if it's forgotten your PIN, you're screwed as far as avoiding a wipe.
yup you are right it has nothing to do with bsb or CHT and YES i am screwed.
I will definitly installing some backup software that can also backup my programs.
I already had my contacts backed up in outlook.
I called HTC and the guys said they know its an issue that some ppl. have and its almost a deal breaker for me coz security code is suppose to help us not f*** us up like that.
Now i am looking for a backup program that can backup all programs aswell apart from my contacts and calander on the phone.
The HTC tech. guy said SPRITE is a good backup solution, i also know of SPB backup, so do you guys have any idea which one is better??
thanks alot
