My ATOM, with any ROM (lastest is WM6 AKU0.7), after Sync with PC and unplug the cable, i don't know how long but when i turn power on, somtimes it show that ATOM had been "turn off really" before (like we replace battery but do not press the power button). And after that, when i press power to turn LCD on, it softreset. And the time and date had been reseted.
At those times, I check in taskmanager, the Active Sync auto run! If i don't endtask that Active Sync carefully, my ATOM will be "like remove and replace the battery but have not press the power button yet" and "auto" go in a cyrcle of "lose battery - press power and auto softreset - lose battery - ...". Ofcouse, when it's in the stats "like just replace the battery", it can't receive SMS, call or any signal. (when sofreset normaly, there is no Active Sync Auto run !)
How to solve it ?! I think the problem it the active sync , or the way i use Active Sync ?

Hi,
A very nice man at Orange has given me an SPV-M1000 (XDA-II) to play with for the next four weeks, but having probs.
I did try the search engine with little success.
Problems:
Backlight switches off.
I tap the screen, press the buttons, perform a soft reset, but to no avail.
I have to unclick the 'turn on backlight' and then click it back on again. This can also happen with a fully charged batt.
MMS:
I can write a text msg, but the option to add attachment is greyed out. I did try to open a pic first and send it that way. She received the txt, but not the pic.
Connecting to pop3:
Set up an Orange E-mail account, but do i connect by: MMS, GPRS, or the internet option? Whatever ichoose, i can't download my e-mail into my inbox.
Hidden Port:
When i remove the back cover, i notice that there is another port below the battery. What is it for?
Downloads:
When i download some PocketPC progs, i get an error msg that <prog> not the correct version. Are there different Pocket PC versions? Can anyone recommend an unzip prog for the phone, and i am still desparate to play .MOV files, but can't find anything that works.
Thank you for your help.
I thought I was having a problem with the Backlight turning off, but it turned out that I was causing it by pressing and holding the [Power] button, when turning it off.
If you press and hold the [Power] button, that turns off the Backlight.
To turn off the unit, simply press the [Power] button and don't linger.

Hello!
I have a problem with my trinity.
It felt down (1m on a carpet) and after that it's not workung any more. When I press the Power-Button the Display gets dark but the backlight is working. But there is no action on the screen and the green light for connectivity is blinking every 3 seconds.
But when I press the reset-Pin (for softreset) quite hard, the phone is booting and working as long I press the reset-Pin. If I release the reset-Pin, many stripes all over the display and the phone isn't working any more.
What the hell goes on there???
I've tried to connect the phone via USB, but my Notebook didn't accept the phone in normal mode (without pressing the reset).
Is there any possibility to back up my data?
With pressing the reset and PIMBackup I could only save appointments, calls and contacts. But there are some important messages... When I try to backup messages there is no action...
It it possible to make a complete dump of the existing data (files and messages etc) and load it to an other Trinity or any other solution for backup the messages?
Running German Win6.1
Best regards,
S. Reichelt
Just a quick one..
I'm not sure if its to do with S2U2 (Slide to unlock), but whenever I've got a USB connection active for transferring music, as soon as the screen goes off, the USB disconnects.
Obviously annoying & potentially damaging to the microsd.
Any ideas?
H
Start - Settings - System - Power - Advanced - On External Power:
uncheck the Turn Off Backlight checkbox
and in S2U2 settings,
On External Power:
Lock when backlight turns off - OFF
Power off in - OFF
Hope that sorts it.
All the settings are as you said, realised even with S2U2 unloaded, it still happens. USB is set to charge the battery.
Think I'll forget it for now, going to be trying out custom roms over the coming days so device will be hard reset.
Cheers for your reply.

Hardreset and try, if not reflash ROM
Good luck,
Hard Reset I tried earlier but did´nt work.
You do realise the SPV doesn't actually 'switch off' ?
Your power button will merely switch the display off and send the unit into sleep mode. If you want it 'off' you'll need to pull the battery and put it back in. The unit won't power up again until you press the power button.
Sometimes my screen goes blank, other times I can still see the text etc.
I started to use a shutdown exe from my Wizard. It seems to do a better job.
At least, when my Uni is connected to Windows Mobile Device Center, I hit the power button and the backlight goes off, WMDC stays connected. If I use the Wizard's exe it disconnects.
Attached for you to try anyway.
Thanks
If I understund right, this PDA can turn off only with removing battery thats stranger
I've never understood the reasoning behind it either. I suppose you have to consider that it was probably always intended for people to use these as their main phone (I don't - never have) and most people never turn their phones off. I know my main phone is never off. Still, it DOES have the option to turn it off if need be, whereas the SPV only has a sleep and flight mode.
Did you try the exe?
I have a Hermes with WM6.1
I have a problem, I don't want my device to go to sleep.
I have set my device to not go to sleep and the screen to not turn off.
I have checked if the registery is set to "0"...
If I listen to music with the screen off through my BT headset the music stop after 1 min. If I watch a movie "Coreplayer" the device go to sleep after 1 min.
If I put it on the cradle it goes to sleep after 1 min !!!
The only time it doesn't go to sleep is when active sync is connected
Can someone help me please.
Thx

It may seem pointless but sometimes re-doing the settings can make a difference, so:
Start>Settings>System>Power (icon)>Advanced (tab)and tick the two boxes (Tap OK)
Perform a soft reset by long pressing the power button (NOT the stylus in the hole). Long pressing on/off ensures write back of settings to the registry.
On powering up again repeat the above and un-tick the boxes. Again tap OK and long press on/off to reset.
This may make no difference, but it can work for a number of settings that appear not to work correctly.
Just something to try.
Mike
Already try that ...
