Microsoft VoiceCommand can't answer "Appointments"

Hallo!
I have MS VoiceCommand installed, it works great, but I just figured out yesterday, that when I ask any question about my "Appointments" the lady doesn't answer and it remains quiet then the Mic symbol disappear without any answer, just silence... Anyone got the same Problem ? If yes, did you solve it ? BTW I have Qtek 9100.
I appreciate any comment.
how are u asking exactly?
i use..
what is my next appointment
what are my upcoming appointments
Actually all the "Reading Appointments" commands can't be taken.
The following are all the appointments commands :
What's my next appointment?
What's my schedule today?
What's my schedule tomorrow?
Reminders On
Reminders Off
What's my next meeting?
What's my next appointment?
What are my appointments (today)?
What are my meetings (today)?
What's my schedule (today)?
What's my calendar (today)?
What's my calendar for today?
What are my appointments tomorrow?
What are my meetings tomorrow?
What's my calendar for tomorrow?
What's my schedule tomorrow?
No matter which command I use from this list, nothing happens.
I'll try re-installing the program again, maybe it was a bug by installing it.
Well, I re-installed the program, but no luck. Am I the only one who has this problem ? Why the woman doesn't respond to any of the appointment commands ? There must be a solution. Any help please ?
hmm which device is this on
check your settings
Have you gone to START_Settings_MS Voice Command and made sure that Calendar functions are set to be active? Voice commands has multiple components that is can recognize - but it let's you choose because each takes up more user memory
My device is Qtek 9100
Well yes , Calender commands is checked , everything is checked there.
But as I remember that when I first installed the program, I remember that I was abl to use the calender commands, I even remember that the womn said : There is no appointments.
But I installed few programs, did hard-reset then re-installed all programs again, at that moment, I can't get the calender commands to work, I give the command but it keeps silent and the mic-icon disappear.
I think some programms caused this problem , but I don't know which. But I believe there musst be anything chenged in the registry and if I change it back...
I am really still looking for an answer. Thank you both for your posts.
Hard to tell, but it sounds to me like you installed a program that intercepts calls to the built-in Calendar app.
anyone can tell me what is "Microsoft VoiceCommand " and where can i get it?
Well, I did a Hard Reset now, and installed everything again and clean, it works now without problems. Thanks for everyone who tried to help.
ericizzy1, "Microsoft VoiceCommand" is a program that allows you to give commands with your voice, and the device will follow your orders, like "Call Name" (name is any name saved in your contact list) or "Start Program" (Program is any program built in the WM5 already) and many other orders, it is just great program, like you are talking to a woman, you are the boss and she works in your company LOL.
Well it helps alot to save few times instead of clicking and searching for the function.
Here is a link about it : http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/voicecommand/default.mspx
It isn't free... You have to buy it.

Here's what to do when reminders stop working

Suddenly the tasks did not remind me anymore. The device turned on at the scheduled time but there was no notification popup or sound.
What I did was delete every task from the device, delete all the notifications related to TASKS.EXE with the tool found on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=280104, sync with Outlook and move the deleted tasks from the Deleted items folder to the main Tasks folder so they're back, and that's it. It's working again!
Hope the tip helps someone!
And we pray hard, that the error doesn't repeat itself in the future?
Can't belive, that my PDA doesn't function as a PDA. Remindres is a basic feature isn't it?
(I have the same problem. I wil try this, thank you!)
Thank you Marton!
I removed some notification with the tool you suggested, and my reminders are back
There were lot of notifications with date before today. I just delete the first one or two, reset my device and the earlyer reminders are displayed, and I colud dissimiss.
I'm glad this worked for you as well, Sallala!
For me the problem was gone and I did not have to repeat the procedure, fortunately.
The reminders stopped working on a busy day when I added 8 tasks, and they started reminding and I postponed some of them, and an incoming call stopped me from discard some, so it crashed somehow and I had no more reminders.
I searched all over the forums and people suggested Memmaid to clean the notifications. I tried it but had no luck. I tried other tools as well (I remember one from Scarybear) but still no luck, so I manually did what I described on the first post and voilĂ
Cheers!

Scheduled Sending SMS Messages

Anyone know of an app that'll let me schedule an SMS message to be sent?
I want to be able to write a text message then have it automatically sent at a given date and time.
I've done some searching here and on G, but can't find anything.
PowerSMS
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-powersms.html
/E
RJV also used to have SMS Scheduler, but it doens't seem to wake up the device on WM6.1.
PowerSMS testing while I type
Update:
While running the application in the background the Diamond woke up
After this I've tested to schedule an SMS and closing the application. This does not work. So you need to exclude PowerSMS on your favorite Task Manager.
Update2:
The application sends the message as soon as you turn on the Diamond. So it's still working after it's closed. But it does not wake up the device.
Cool, thanks both - just what I needed
You're welcome. Seems like PowerSMS has the potential to become a great product. It's still in Beta but working pretty good. Would have to test this some more to give a final judgment

calendar reminder

dear friends, i have had this problem previously on other winmobile devices and now on the THD. simply & suddenly i stop getting reminders for my calendar appointments, even though they still do appear on my today screen( i use the windows mobile standard today screen). no change in my notification or sounds settings, and despite a softreset. on my old phone imate ultimate 6150, this problem used to disappear after syncing with outlook on my pc, and this time it worked too. but honestly it's beyond me why this happens. yes the problem has been solved, but until one realises what has happened u could miss out on an important appointment. thanks
any ideas?
memaid and sktools have options to rebuild the notifications queue.
Alternatively, search here on notifications - the problem sounds like this queue/list is corrupt.
I had similar problems and the memaid solved it fine.
Well I've just read inanother zforumsomewhere and it works.
Change the time on your today screen, to the visiting time. Accept all changes
Then set it back to home time, and accept all changes.
Viola! the reminder starts working fine again.
But, after a day or two, things are back to where they began. So you wil need a reminder to remind you to do this procedure once in a while

calendar reminder bug (?)

Not sure if this is my phone or how the HD2 is programmed: If a calendar event reminder is due while my phone is switched off, then I completely miss the reminder after I switch it back on. Same is true for alarms.
Any thoughts?
Many thanks.

This happens to me too.
I believe it goes as follows:
If the phone is completly switched off (not on standby),
the windows' event queue does not exist.
When the phone boots up, it re-builds the event queue from the time it is switched on.
Is it a bug ?
May be (maybe it's design flaw)
Is it an HTC bug or Microsofts ?
I Really do not know whom to blame
Should thay have saved the event queue on power off and reload it on bootup, instead of re-building?
probably.
On my WM2003, if I loaded the event queue from a backup,
and the event queue contained an overdue alarm/reminder
it would have just clogged the queue, and no remonders popped up,
Which is worse than skipping an alarm/remonder or two.
But - nevetheless, they should have fixed the problem, instead of dropping the alarms.
on a side note, does anybody know how to make the phone not remind you before 15 minutes and on the time?i just need to see the appointment is there on manila. ive loaded all my appointments from outlook - till june and on my outlook, ive turned the reminders for each individual one off. however, the phone still reminds me and its annoying. i dont really want to have to go through each one of them (theres 100) and turn it off. itll take me a day!
Som30ne,
thanks for your reply. At least I don't feel that there's something wrong with MY device, and that I need to send it back ---there is only something WRONG with my device.
Strangely enough, on my HTC Touch Diamond, these reminders (and alarms) seemed to work perfectly well and wouldn't miss a single event, so, in upgrading, either Windows or HTC have made a blunder.
Cheers!
munzab,
I know Outlook by default seems to remind you not only at the user set time before the event, but also when it starts to occur, but I don't think my HTC does that. And certainly not the 15 minutes before one.
Hi,
In my personal experience the ability to switch the phone on when an appointments et. is due is unavailable in Windows Mobile. I remember having this on Symbian S60 years ago but not on any Windows Mobile device.
For the second issue. In calendar menu, settings there is an option to change the deault reminder from anything from 1 week before to 5 minutes before as well as None. Have you tried setting it to None to see what happens? I haven't tried it but know its there. The standard alarm doesn't have a delay reminder option so its the time you set only I believe.
Hope this helps in some way.
Regards.

I have done this for htc, but i have the impression it will only do that for new appointments that are created on the pocket pc.
i can turn each one off by selecting one after the other and editing each. but not from outlook.
