Major Problems....I think.... - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

I went on holiday recently, leaving my Wizard (02 Mini S) at home but I forgot to put it on charge. Now I have returned the phone is dead and will do nothing. Left it on charge (no charge light showed mind you but charger was plugged in and switched on) but still no signs of life. Any ideas please people?

maybe a minor problem -- dead battery?

Li-on battery doesn't like full flat. Chances are, you probably left it when the battery is low, and once you came back, it went to the 'bottomless pit'.
Anyway, there is a way to jump start it, by using a higher voltage source and spark it then charge it as normal. I dont remember the voltage use ,but you can have a search around here. Usually with people flashing their ROM, failed, left the phone around, and battery went dead.

heard of this happening with pocket pcs and phones alike when both backup and main battery are depleted.
Apparently one fix is to take battery out leave for a while (an hour maybe) and then put back in and put it straight on charge.
if that doesnt work you could try seeing if you get any resonse when plugged into your pc with the usb.
It could always be zecoj says a dead battery.
I have this exact problem with my old ipaq but just havent got around to buying a new battery yet as the battery out trick didnt work.
Hope you get it running again quicky.

found out about this one on my travels looking for a fix for my ipaq. lots of guides suggested stripping cables from a usb cable but im not all that happy doing that myself!

I cant see it being the battery, phone is only 11 months old for a start and it held its charge no prob before I went away. I have tried plugging it into the Pc and wall, no dice. Will try car charger cradle later and as we speak battery is out of phone for one hour as suggested so will see how that goes. Damn these so called 'smart' phones that cant even tell when the charger is plugged back in lol. Not so smart after all eh! No smart remarks about me not being smart enough to charge it while on hols either!!!!!

iirc its because they need a little charge in able to charge which is silly really. And allthough the battery is only 11 months old and would otherwise work fine ive heard of them breaking because of being left to run out.

woo-hoo!!!!! Car cradle attached to a battery charger on boost and bosh!! In there like swim wear!!! I have breathed life back into her again!!! Cheers guys, up and running!!! Sweet as. Yes, Im a bit happy.

Device is dead when starting up in the morning.

Good day,
I own a Orange M1000 now for 4 months, (Qtek 2020)
3 weeks ago I installned the Sin Merged v2.0 rom.
No problems, everything went ok and smooth.
Yesterday when I got home I have put my phone on my desk.
When I tried to start it this morning, nothing, it won't go on.
I browsed through the forums and tried a lot.
With no result .
(Hard reset won't work, can't get into bootloader, leaving SIM and battery out for a hour, charging the device with the adaptor).
The only thing I get from the device is a red light when I put in charger without the battery in the device.
I really don't know what to do now, any help would be appreciated!
*frustrated at the moment*
I don't want to be annoying, but isn't there any one who could help me?
I really need my phone for my work and school and I have no replacement at the moment.
Really, any help at all would be very, very appreciated!
I have the same problem today, all I can do is sending back to repair
Sorry, I may be stupid but it wasnt clear to me if you charged the battery in the cradle, ie battery on charge without phone.
Take the battery out, leave the phone on the desk and pop the battery only in charger. Wait 2 hours or so (minimum), now put battery in XDA and soft reset.
That worked on mine when it went mental like this.
thanks for your reply .
I just try and seem you are right.
the backup battery all gone and I charge the o2 without battery for an hour and the backup battery for 50% charged.
Is that the only way to charge the backup battery ?
It seems the backup batter takes its charge from the main battery. So if you have a totally flat backup battery (a non removeable one inside XDA) and put a fully charged main battery in, with no charger connected you will see the backup battery slowly charge itself from empty to full from the main battery.
This seems to prevent charging when the main battery is totally dead.
The only way to get it running again is to remove the main battery and charge it outside the XDA.
This is at least what happens on my XDA, so forgive me if its different for anyone else.
Thank you for your replies,
So it worked for you allen?
My problem is, I didn't get a cradle with my phone, and I can't get ik spare here at stores.
Sending back for reparation isn't an option.
I didn;'t have a lot of moeny and I bought it second hand. (still in box though..)
Any suggestions on where to buy a cradle?

Wizard wont show charge.... Help

After 2 oem batteries and 2 extended batteries, Im very confused as to whats going on. It will turn on fine, and it will even charge the battery, but once it hits 100% the wizard will restart and it will show battery level as zero and shutdown. I thought mabey it wasnt charging but it will let me install roms and i can restart it as much as i want. Thanks for looking!!!!
One thing i forgot...
I can also get it running by running wires from it to another phone battery ( i was trying to use it to replace my blackjack2) and by taking the 3.3volt power adapter route, i can even get it to start charging. but it will either cut off at 99% and reboot saying dead battery or take the battery out adn put it in to get 0%.
Update.... Not that anyone is reading lol
Ok, Ive made a little more progress today. Using sketchy methods, 3.3v adapter wires between phone and battery, i got it to charge whil on usb with computer to 100% today without shutting off ( a first since before flashed). Once I removed it from usb thou, the battery bar went immediatly down to 50%. I charged it to 100% percent again, but once i dosconected it, the battery level would decrese almost as if the gague were a countdown clock. I tried doing the powersave registry edit posted in these forums, but the phone showed 0% charger after the soft reset and promptly died again.... I just put in the other extended battery i pulled from a nap in the freezer, and if i ever find a solution i will post it... thanks to whoever is looking for looking!!!

Another update...
Ok. Still freezing battery and such. But today i finally got around to dissasembly and everything on the inside seemed fine to the unexperienced eye. the water sticker was ok, no clearly visable burn marks. It was a little dirty, but nothing that should cause this type of error. I did notice some weird things, but im not sure if thats just wizard guts or if its something to be concerned about. Hopefull I'll be able to get some guidance on this, i really hate missing calls on Crapjack2
This is getting expensive.....
So, I bought a battery charger and after rigging it with some wire to charge my extended battery(s), it shows the battery being charged and will run like normall... except i cant charge the batteries in phone..... so yeah... Im waiting on an oem wall charger in the mail, but im still open to the fried main board. I just need to know a little more before i start spending more money lol
edit: oh also, im only really charging it by usb whenever i attempt at internally charging the battery. Occasionally i borrow my cousin's kaiser wall charger, but i dont have mine yet

Is my battery dead, or just messed up?

Ok heres my problem,
My phones battery is completely messed up. The phone ALWAYS says that its at %99 battery(and the number never decreases) but after a couple of minutes of use it will turn off by itself, no warning or anything.
I think I know how it happened(as a warning for other ppl). I went on vacation once and I didn't have a charger cuz there were no computers at the hotel, so I brought a random USB wall charger I found laying around(which I later found out it belongs to some spy pen camcorder ).
Unfortunately though it was charging SUUPPERR slow, so I got the crazy idea to charge it while it was off and to my surprise(dramatization) it charged (a lot)faster.
So I kept charging it like that every day and I noticed that every charge took less time than the last. It also started turning off by itself, though not as frequently as now. I thought the problem would fix it self once I charged it on my computer again, but I was wrong. TT_TT
---
Can anyone offer any solutions? I have a G1 with CM5 and clockworks recovery. I know clockworks recovery lets you do something with the battery, but idk how to use that
please help, this is a REAALLY annoying problem thats forced me to go back in time
You need to make sure it's putting out the same amount of power as your regular charger. I'm not 100% sure of this, as all I can do is charge at my computer and I have no idea how that works (as in if computer puts out waaay more power or has a limit of how much to put out) but I've always heard too much can be a bad thing for batterys. Also, don't overcharge.
^^Just posted that in another thread.
sounds like a died battery

Milestone 2 - Died..?

My girlfriend has a MS2, it is approx 5 weeks old.
It is as factory, she not interested in modding it.
Today, she took a call. Battery was at approx 60%, call lasted about 10min.
When she took the phone away from her ear, it powered off.
It has failed to restart.
We've left it connected to power for a few hours, we've left the battery out for a bit..
We've tried all the different versions of key presses + power on (camera+power, x+power, @+power, vol dn+power, etc, etc) but the phone simply does not respond to anything.
The only thing it will do is, the little light illuminates next to the micro-usb port when it's connected to power/pc.
Any suggestions as to what may have caused this?
Suggestions for a cure?
As stated, it is 5 weeks old, totally as it left the factory (unmodified/unmodded)
Not happy!
Don't like the idea of having to return it to HK (ebay vendor) for warranty, if it comes to that, think we'll get a refund and abandon Motorola. Pathetic.
TIA for any suggestions..
Did you try to remove battery for a while? That helped me in similar situation.
yes, we have tried that.. :-(
I had a similar problem last week! It really shocked me.
I connected the charger and left it connected. After about 5 hours it booted up again, but the battery was only at 5%.
After that I simply let it charge and finally the Milestone worked again. You might want to try another battery if it really doesn't charge or boot anymore.

It happened the same here. Just leaved it charging, when I least expected it booted up. Let it on the charger, if it doesn't fix, return to ebay.
Make sure you are using the wall socket charger. If my battery dies, USB won't charge the phone, at least not in a reasonable amount of time.
There might be a part on ur motherboard thats draining too much juice. I had the same problem on my phone though the battery depletion wasn't as significant as yours. Check with ur dealer and claim it from ur warranty. Its apparently a common problem with the milestone range

Similar thing happened to mine one afternoon, after a quick play around I left it plugged into the charger for a few hrs and it eventually booted back up itself.

[Q]Not Holding a Charge?

I'm new to the forums and I hate to be that noob but I kinda need my phone.
First off. What I did to the phone was Root it. That was Successful Completely.
Then I backup my phones stock rom. Which was also successful. While doing all of this, I had my phone on the charger. I then went about installing the Cyanogen Mod. This was also a sucess. I started putting my apps back on my phone. Main features.. Ebuddy and Skype then my phone hit 0% while it was still on the usb charge. I found this weird. After that, My phone wont turn on and wont hold a charge. Once in awhile it would turn on for a few secs but then nothing. I'm guessin i f*cked my battery or is there something unless I can do?
Sounds like it was discharging faster than it was actually charging thru the usb while doing all the flashing. There is a point when the battery will get so low it will do that and not charge at all. I've seen it quite a few times on here. It is a known issue tho. Have you tried a wall charger or a different battery?
Sent from "The" Evo using XDA Premium VIA your moms house.
A wall charger. I assume a charger I can plug the phone into an outlet right. Yeah I tryed to charge but it won't charge at all and I don't have a battery on hand. Is it bricked?
Also Since it's this low. Is there any way to restore my battery or would I need a completely new battery? and also how much does it cost for a new evo4g battery? Just got the phone a month ago so i havent looked into it
Here is one of the threads/people I was referring to. You can try to take it in and get a boost or try a different battery to be sure. (If you can get your hands on one)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1070382
You can get a battery for cheap off ebay or amazon. Probably around 5-10 dollars. If you go to sprint, best buy, etc., probably going to run you 30-50 bucks.
P.S. For future reference there is a Q&A section, just don't want to see you get flamed
Your a life saver man, I know exactly what to do now. Only problem is . In the mass panic. I removed some stuff f rom the sd card. I have it on the comp though
Might have to do redo the mod but other then that .I should be up and good to go by later on
Good deal, glad you got it figured out.

I would also suggest getting an extra battery and a battery wall charger and swap out charged batteries ( I never plug my phone in to charge it) battery life is way better that way and also make sure you wipe battery stats after flashing a new Rom. Instructions are all over Google.
