Blackberry Connect HELP... - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo General

Ok guys, throw me a bone here. And I did used the 'Search' button.
I've recently bought and HTC x7500 (wm5). Coming from a Blackberry (8800) obviously I would love to have Blackberry Connect working on the x7500. I'm on BIS (not BES). My carrier is Cingular in the US and I my account was already provisioned and working with BIS very nicely.
I tried both, BBC version 4.0.0.67 and 2.1.2.31. After several install, uninstalls, resets, everytime I get the same results. The Identity tab on the BBC app shows:
PIN: Pending
IMEI: Radio Off
IP Address: No Connection
CURIOUSLY, out of desperation I tried my wife's Cingular SIM card (unlimited internet, NO Blackberry account at all) and this one DID generated a PIN and connection, but no IP address.
Did noticed in all cases that the BBC software never did created a blackberry connection (blackberry.net APN). I did once tried creating one by hand with my account SIM and it could connect manually and even browse the internet with this APN. But BBC wouldn't.
I then, again, tried with my account sim and both BBC versions to no avail.
My Blackberry 8800 works fine with this account/sim card.
My x7500 is:
ROM version: 1.25.405.2 (03/09/07)
Radio version: 1.38.00.00
ExtROM version: 1.25.405.103
Please HELP!

GPRS Connect but no data

I have recently acquired a T-Mobile pocket pc phone. It works fine as a phone but I am having problems getting it to work with GPRS with Vodafone here in Australia. I get a "connected" message but I can't even do a simple thing like load the google home page.
I have installed pocketcmd and nettools and ipconfig shows me I have an IP address, ipmask, gateway address and dns servers. I even tried to ping a couple of places like www.google.com and it works.
What could I be missing?
I have ROM version 3.08.10 ENG date 7/11/02,
radio 6.03
protocol 324e4.
FYI I fixed this by modifying the existing "Internet Settings" profile to use the vodafone australia APN vfinternet.au. I don't know why this works while my own profile displays this bizarre behaviour.
I have same problem.
Using XDAII as wireless modem under Bluetooth & GPRS. Folloed guide: http://www.xda-2.co.uk/user_downloads/pdf/Xda_II_Modem_Setup_Guide.pdf. Worked perfectly. (D-Link USB Bluetooth using Widcomm 1.4.2).
BUT NO HTTP! Ping, Telnet, DNS resolution, perfect. Not http.
Looks like might be a DNS recolution on the in-line proxy O2 use, as calling web sites with IP numbers sometimes gets some data.
Obviously, IP with no HTTP is not much good these days, even if it would keep my O2 bill down.
Thanks to any person who can suggest a fix.

MAC Address of HTC TyTN

i just recently purchased an unlocked O2 XDA Trion and besides the normal problems, it has been operating nicely.. however i would like to know if there is any possible way to obtain the physical address of the ethernet card in the phone(if there is one) as i need it to manually register my phone to access the Wifi.
also i have been gettin problems using MSN Messenger, Pocket MsN, and Windows Live Messenger on the phone. my GPRS (Cingular) has been set up accordingly and i have been able to access the internet wit it, but cannot get any of my IM clients to work
ROM version: 1.23.707.1
ROM date: 06/28/06
Radio version: 1.06.00.10
Protocol version: 32.31.7010.01H
also what ROM will u recommend that will be considered, "upgrading" my phone?
Start Comm Manager.
Go to WLAN Settings...
Go to Advanced tab (you'll find your MAC address)
the wifi mac is also under the battery above the imei/serial number of the phone.

Cingular 8525 instead of Blackberry

I just got issued a Cingular Berry at work. We use a BES server with Exchange. Any way I can use my 8525 (unlocked) instead of my BB.
I've read mixed results and methods on forums/sites. I'd just like a direct answer and a how-to would be even better.
You'll find TONS of information on that particular issue here..
Either get the blackberry connect service from Cingular and use your 8525 with the black berry client on it... or.... use the company's exchange server with activesync. If you're lucky and they have exchange 2003 with SP2 you will even get direct push email, just like a berry.
Here's my setup:
1) Cingular 8525 SIM/CID unlocked (HardSPL 7)
2) Elf's 2.1 Crackberry ROM (WM6) - very nice stable build.
3) BBConnect 4.0.0.67 CAB
4) Cingular Blackberry Tethered Unlimited (both BIS and BES enabled)
Make sure you have a data connection working first.
BBConnect will issue you PIN after you click the Register button - you can see this in the BB Connect utility on your handheld.
You can then use this PIN and your phone IMEI on Cingular's BB site:
http://mycingular.blackberry.com/
Don't forget to download the Service books.
If your company has Outlook Web access for Exchange Server you can avoid BES.
BBConnect only allows 3 email boxes on a non-BB device.
Everything works fine except that the BB Service hogs the wireless connection so that I sometimes have problems with other services require internet connection.
Toss that Cingular ROM (even the latest 2.15 update) - it's worthless and a real headache - very unstable

T-Mobile MDA Vario not connecting to WiFi

I just got a "new" T-Mobile MDA Vario (UK), and after starting it, everything seems to work fine.
But when trying to connect to wireless networks, it finds them okay, but never connects to them. It just alternates between "Connecting" and "Available" in the network list.
My laptop and the other PC in the house connects to our and other WiFi networks fine, so it must be a problem with the Vario.
I've tried a factory reset with the same results.
Any suggestions what might be wrong or what might fix it?
The OS is apparently 1.3.2.2 if that helps.
Thanks in advance!
had this a couple of times. my work router here worked fine after i rebooted the router.
but some networks i havent been able to get on to.
What encryption is your wireless access point/router running? and what brand is it?
Thanks for the reply.
It's a Linksys router, using a WEP security pass, but it won't connect to other branded routers either (local unprotected neighbourhoods ones (A Belkin, for example) that the laptop and PC can connect to just fine).
With the old XDA Mini S I used to use, it connected to the network fine then asked for the WEP Key, but this one just never connects. I've tried going into the network info and putting in the WEP Key, and it stores it and gives no 'Wrong Password" error, but still never connects.
I've upgraded the ROM to the latest official T-Mobile one (2.21.2.6 WWE) to see if that would help, but I still have the same issue.
Is switching to the I-Mate K-Jam or O2 XDA Mini S ROM simply a matter of installing it the same way I would a T-Mobile ROM update, or will that brick the phone?
My old XDA Mini S never had this issue, and I've read of a few people using the MDA Vario having the same problem, so I'm assuming it's a problem with the T-Mobile ROMs/software?
Bump.
Anyone got any ideas/suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
I am having the same problem. I downloaded the lastest upgrade from the T-mobile site and was still not able to connect to the internet with wifi.
And suggestions would be greatly appreciated
I tryed with T-mobile 2.26 ROM. I like to connect to my desktop pc, with ad-hoc mode. As I remember, I could connect, but the PDA didn't accept the IP address and other network settings, that provided the dhcp server. (WinXP internet connection sharing) I checked this with vxUTIL. Connection didn't work even if I setup the IP address, gateway, and DNS server manually.
I upgraded to WM6 and now the thing work well.
I've the same issue, but also noted that the device already connects to dlink routers, linksys ones's didn't work, previously with the original ROM from CINGULAR 8125 the linksys worked fine now they don't.... i recently upgraded my phone to wizard love for G4's so it's not only a tmobile issue.

No Wi-Fi APs detected?

Hello all,
I'm certain threads have addressed this problem, but... I can't seem to compile all the info and get my recently purchased wizard to connect to the web via my home network and I would like the possibility of connecting at the university.
So, here's the skinny: HTC wizard (cingular 8125) running Wizard Love and NBD WM 6.
On the boot screen I get: AKU 2.3; IPL and SPL:2.25.0001; radio:2.25.11; rom: 6.0.0.0. My carrier is Tmobile.
If my phone has this newer ROM and it takes calls on the Tmobile network it has been CID unlocked and SIM unlocked...right?
I can connect to tmobile via GPRS and browse the web (don't know if I have been paying for this though. I don't have a data plan), but I would really like to connect at home and on road at hotspots and networks that I have access to w/o the fear of a huge data bill.
Right now I can't see any networks with in the wireless network detection screen and I tried to add my home router manually to no avail. Nothing is recognized meanwhile my router and wireless pc card can see a bunch of networks including my city wide wifi.
So if someone would pretty please with all that jazz on top gimme a protocol for setting my phone to access/identify wireless networks that would be ab fab.
grazie,
P.S. I donated now so would some of the heavy hitters please drop knowledge
Phone: HTC wizard (cingular 8125)
ROM: Wizard Love WM 6.0.0.0. AKU 2.3;
IPL and SPL:2.25.0001;
Carrier: Tmobile.
