SMS / Email Distribution Groups

Is there a way to setup SMS or Email Distrbution Groups with the XDAII.
I used to use Simple SMS with a IPAQ5550 and found the capability to send an SMS to an entire category or group of contacts invaluable.
Any Ideas????

Is there any addon, or utility, that first, lets you send any contact you have as an SMS message? and second something that lets you select multiple contacts for sms sending?

Hey guys this is a cool SMS threading app ,unfortuntaly i cant down load the file cuz my connection doesnt allow me to connect to rapid share so can some one please please download this file for me an then repost it here ??
What is O2 SMS Plus?
O2 SMS Plus is an alternate SMS application to the Inbox application that lets you send and receive SMS using a chat style user interface, send and receive vCard contacts via and send SMS to group of recipients.
What are the benefits of using O2 SMS Plus to send SMS over using Inbox?
Inbox does not give you a single view of incoming and outgoing messages. You have to switch between Inbox and Sent Items folders to get all the dialogs you had with your contacts. O2 SMS Plus can list both incoming and outgoing text messages in the save view. You can have a filtered view of all the text messages between you and a particular contact. It lets you chat with your buddy continuous by SMS without you having to type in your buddy?s phone number repeatedly.
What other benefits do you get from O2 SMS Plus besides its SMS Chat function?
O2 SMS Plus lets you send the same text message to all your buddies at the same time. You just need to organise your contacts into different categories from Outlook on your desktop and synchronise them to the device or assign them directly from your device. In addition O2 SMS Plus lets you schedule your SMS to be sent at a later date. The find function lets you retrieve text messages that contain a particular text string and the vCard function lets you send contact data from your PIM to other phones support vCard SMS function.
Where does O2 SMS Plus save text messages it sent or received?
O2 SMS Plus uses the same Inbox database for storing and retrieving messages.
How do I start O2 SMS Plus?
Tap Start > Program > O2 SMS Plus to start O2 SMS Plus.

I have uploaded the cab for you.
I am just about to upload the EXE in the file as a ZIP
I wudda added just the plain .RAR but this site doesn't support that file extension...

I think all the EXE does is copy the cab to your phone and install it so you should be ok just installing the cab from your phone!

Is there anyway to have this open up the Outlook Mail Inbox instead of the MMS Inbox ?
It's showing the correct number of new mails (I think it's just accumulative of the SMS / MMS and EMAIL numbers) however 99.9% of my messages are via email and it would be nice to have this open them up.

for the moment, it seems that these values are hard coded into the dll. if you really want this, try out rltoday

Send text to a group

Hi, just got my Nexus 4 but I can't work out how to send a text to a group? Am I missing something? I used to be able to do this in my old Symbian phone.
I can add contacts individually but text type changes to MMS which costs extra so I don't want to do that and the group I created doesn't show up in the messaging screen. I set up a group with 21 contacts so I'd rather be able to add the group than individually add them each time and send it as a SMS.

Group messaging works as a MMS - you can turn that off and it will send out 21 SMS messages which isn't group messaging. Go into the settings screen and turn off Group Messaging.
You can not send to a group with the normal SMS app, maybe Handsent or GoSMS can do that.

simple install any of the available thirdy part SMS app from the Play Store (eg. GoSMS)
You can SMS directly to a group
