Could somebody download this from O2 and tell us if it is really as good as what we see in reviews? Maybe some one can use the same ROM to cook up something for Atom/Atom Exec?

Same thing as the XDAIIi but we all know how much better their support is and I believe they have better ROMs too.
FINALLY!
Bad, news is, we have to wait until April .. That is what they told me,, APRIL!!
Now who has an XDAIIi that can dump the ROM so we can see if the BT 1.2 will work on our XDAII?
I would like to have people's feedback on this please cause at the moment i am using the O2 Asia Rom and it is slow and crap.
I have a O2 sim card and am in the UK so which rom would be the best to use....
I think the i-mate plays faster than the o2, and the t-mobile is really poor i think...
im going to use the German Extended O2 Cab's to get the O2 look, but just wondering if people found a different rom better in anyway.

Use SPB Benchmark on a plain rom & test the different versions & see which one is best. Should be pretty easy, maybe time consuming.
My guess: as long as you ditch the ext-rom it doesn't make a big difference which rom is used. So I stick to TMO's 1.13WWE, which is still the most recent.

After trying the 1.12 and 1.13 both rom and radio, i've stick with the last TMO rom with 1.12 radio, it's the best and the most stable setup i've had
hi all .I,m thinking of bying the xda atom and i made a litle research over the internet ,so i found this site with reviews and i was very disappointing with what i read for this device(http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/handhelds/0,39001707,39095540p,00.htm)
so i want to ask you if you are satisfied with this device and about the service. i am an ex-owner of qtek 9000 that was not very good for me and i sold it.i,m looking for something like ATOM .THE problem is here in Greece we do not have any O2 service .
thank you
*SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH
Yes I would buy it now.
If you bought the Atom when it was first released like I did, it had ALOT of problems and issues.
However, with all the new firmware releases, the Atom is now a stable and good product. You will find most of the complaints was based on the early release product.
If you buy the Atom, just make sure it has the latest released firmware installed, don't buy if it is "old" stock without the latest firmware upgrades.
While you can upgrade the firmware yourself, I have seen some posts about not being able to upgrade the firmware due to region issues I think.
Experimenter, that's just because they don't know how to put it in bootloader mode. So the installed ROM doesn't matter. I love my Atom!
Also love my Atom MORE NOW
Hi Mastiff,
Do you mind telling me where did you buy your Atom please?
Regards

i bought my atom just last week in HongKong... coming from P800 and P900... i love the atom!
Add the device driver of WM6 for our Xda IIi, Should we?
thank everyone!!!
Yes, we should.
totally support.
I see that if we not consider the processor, HTC p6300 is very close to Alpine specifications, can't we extract the p6300 rom, upgrade the processor registry (taking informations from the Universal that has the same Intel cpu) and try to install on our Alpine??
best of luck with it, i can imagine theres a lot of people hoping and praying its possible.
Any update on this topic yet?
worksofart I think you should try with O2 Xda Atom Exec, it is the same spec, but rom on alpine is 128mb and on is 192mb. If you look at that way, it seems logical. I dont know why people say it is impossible? Why? I cant find any good reasons. I have prophet, but I want to help you people get WM5 or WM6 on Alpine becouse it is a great device.
Can anyone help on this?
As a newby, I have upgraded my Orbit to WM6, but looking on the forums I see many people have upgraded to new/different roms? Are these roms just different skins or is there more to them than that? Also, can anybody recommend a good one to upgrade to? Does Touchflo make the Orbit work a bit like the iphone? Thanks.
