What does this give you if you enable it? If I'm right it is pulse dialing instead of tone right? Curious why you would want this or if it's something helpful outside the US.
DTMF is tone dialing. It stand for Dual Tone Mutli Frequency

It seems that u can use any MP3, wav etc. files as your ringtone. But if you set your ringtone to vibrate and ring, the audio will play well but the vibrate mode will continue vibrating until the audio finish, and this is kinda annoying.
Is there any software that could edit this ringtone and vibration mode?
I know that nokia ringtones has the ability to control the vibrate pattern with their .nrg files, but i don't think it's supported with PPC and you can't get the .nrg editor. They keep it close to themselves.
Do let me know if there's any such s/ware or any of u guys who could develop it...
Thxs
Anyone have an answer to this? I know that this post is old but perhaps there is still no clear answer (yes I have done the search thing but nothing came out) so I am having the same problem, anyone out there who could shed light into this? It would be also be beneficial if someone could tell me if there is a way to make the long custom sms stop when I have already acknowledged the alert? it is kinda annoying specially if you forget to set to silent on a meeting, it still plays even if I have already touched the phone and tried to switch it off. please help? thanks.
i am searching for this function too. vibrate and sound at the same time. every profile-manager i have seen can make only vibrate or sound. or first sound an then vibrate.
This Software can make it:

(Profil: loud)
but i need only a software for profiles not for contacts and so on.
Is it possible to get the Dual to vibrate & ring at the same time - I've not been able to work it out...
or is this a case of RTFM ?
and can you adjust the timeout of the auto-keylock feature?
tis a great phone though, it's my first smartphone, having come from an SE W810i. Been using it with a bluenext 32 channel gps receiver & tomtom.. that is a bit nice.
Thanks for your patience

Not sure if it is a case of RTFM because I didn't read it myself, but you can set vibrate and ring in start--->settings--->sounds&alerts(?)(i have norwegian version(lyder og varslinger)--->alerts(?)(again, norwegian version(varslinger)--->select phone: incoming calls. There you can select if your phone should vibrate and ring, vibrate then ring and some other settings.. Hope this helps!

Yeah you might be right - about the manual!
I have it now, thanks - I'd not worked out the rather simple logic of the dropdown! LOL
Chaps, any idea on the auto-lock timeout thing?
Hey community,
sorry i did not find a thread of this topic, maybe there is one and i used the false search term. Not so easy to describe but everyone should know what i mean.
If i start to make a call there is not just the call tone. Before the call tone there is annoying sound which goes up in the tone like "düdüdülüt". Really annoying.
Does someone know how to disable this nerve killer?
Thanks and a nice weekend
Turn off call divert and call waiting
I have a dutch version, ill try to translate:
Go to Settings, call settings, all calls, status tones
(option #2,#1,#6 in settings)
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
I rather find the volume up on full volume tone very annoying... The one from the htc phones sounds better...
Is there any way to make vibrate and then ring for income calls?
yea I would like to know the same thing. It's a great feature to have and i don't understand why they didn't have it on originally.
not a practical solution could be by adding 3 seconds of silence in the beginning of your mp3 ring tone file

That could be a good solution. Thanks.
I have seen some apps in the market to add the vibrate then ring, as "RingMaster-Ringtone". Anyone has tested it?
How can I change the dialing keypad tone on my stock ROM device? It is rooted, by the way
Also, where can I find a generic-sounding keypad tone that I can use instead?
I find the waterdrop tone to be utterly repulsive.
