I have searched numerous threads with none being useful.
Can anyone tell me how to sync with Vista home premium and MS office 2007?
I can see on the PC what is on the device (files on storage card etc) but I just can't manage to get it to syncronize with Outlook.
Any ideas or links would be greatly appreciated.

Don't own a Trinity, but this is pretty generic.
You need to install Windows Mobile Device Center. This replaced Activesync. That should do it!
Thanks, I have downloaded the link and will try tonight.
As I have just brought a new notebook with Vista Home premium already installed, the drivers should already be installed.
Sync is now working, thanks for the link

hey guyz,
just bought my prophet today...just wanted to know how can we sync emails and contacts in microsoft Vista Build 5342?
I tried installing ActiveSync 4.2...but nothing happens. There's a utility in this version of windows by the name of mobile...but that only syncs music & files.
please help if someone knows the solution.
cheers.
Vista sync problem
Hi I have the same problem with Vista Beta2 5384. Using Office 2007 Beta 2.
Please help.
Have a read of the last two or three posts in this blog from the MS mobile team
http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile/archive/2006/05/29/610269.aspx
Are you aware whether sync-over-wifi will be supported by the Vista interface, as that is the key missing ingredient of the current ActiveSync?
No sign of it in the beta so far, and since MS have removed it from Activesync I don't really hold out any hope of it appearing again in Vista. even if they do bring it back would it even work for WM5 devices? There doesn't appear to be an option in activesync on my MDA PRO to include a computer in a sync which was necessary in earlier versions to sync over wifi.
I see a growing trend where a lot of people are having trouble syncing their phones with MS activesync 4.5. Is there a solution to this problem?
Does activesync 4.5 only work with WM6 and not WM5? I just reloaded all software on my puter an d put 4.5 on in readiness for loading WM6 on my phone but now it wont recognise my phone......
thanks
Scott
I am using Activesync 4.5 and no problem at all.

Scott, what version of WM6 you are using? I had that (sync) problem with the first version of Mun_Rus WM6 (due to OneNote issue in the PPC registry file). After using Mun_Rus second version of WM6, it's sync perfectly everytime.
ok, got it working but now it says
"cannot sync with the outlook profile you are using, because a different profile was previously set up or the profile is password-protected. Please open outlook using the appropriate profile.
Support code:8503001f"
Now i only have one single profile on outlook but have changed a few of the options but nothing to do with profile etc. Activesync 4.5 says it has synced with outlook (no attention req'd messages), but there is no extra stuff in outlook- mostly the tasks and calender i am after.....
What am i doing wrong and how do i fix it?

Running Dopod WM5 (waiting for official dopod WM6 rom so copy extended rom from here to a cooked rom).
ROM: 1.23.707.5
Radio: 1.33.30.10
Running XP, Office 2007 (Outlook 07), Active sync v4.5.0 build 5096
Thanks for your help...
God, dammit, yeah, after three month trying to solve this I finally found a solution. If you set your @live.com or other Outlook Connector created data-file as default, then Exit Outlook, disconnect your PPC (WM6/WM5 device). In WMDC or ActiveSync ( I made it through WMDC on Win Vista ) end your partnership. Then connect your device and set up new one. Add whatever you want to sync with outlook and you are done. It works flawlessly.
Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you !

Same here... Athena and TyTynII
The Athena was a pain to get to work with vista mobile device center. Once i got the drivers for Athena installed, the tilt no longer works.
Is this do-able? 2phones->1PC?
Right now I have the incredibly cumbersome work-around of copying my PST file to another PC and syncing the other phone with that PC. Obviously not very smooth process .
ideas?
Not sure if anyone has been looking fot them or if anyone knows, BUT the Hero manual and HTC sync are loaded onto the supplied memory card.
Just connect it to your pc select notifications at the top of your hero then you you should see USB connected. Select it and then select mount. It then sees your Hero as a USB drive. Just drag and drop the files onto your pc`s desktop. Then install HTC sync. It then allows you to sync contacts in outlook etc.
Thanks for the hint!
You might find it if you lost it on the HTC-site. Its hard to find, but with a trick you are able to get there..
This is the english support url:
http://www.htc.com/hero/m/en/index.html
If you need another language just change it to /hero/m/nl/index.html for Dutch and i.e. /hero/m/de/index.html for German and so on for other countries.

The pdf's are small because they are made for viewing on the HTC Hero phone
* HTC Hero Quick Start Guide (PDF)
* HTC Hero User Manual (PDF)
* HTC Hero How-To Info (12 webpages helping you do things from using the people widget to updating your Facebook status)
Thanks, was looking for them!!

Yes it does perfectly. Plus calender entries.
I'm having trouble trying to sync with my Vista PC.
The drivers seemed to install ok but now when I click on WMDC nothing happens, also when I try Sync Center my TD2 appears but it only gives me the option to sync with Windows Media Player.
I've tried all the different settings, USB, active sync etc but dont seem to be getting anywhere.
Anybody help?
Jeff
Problem sorted thanks.
