Can anyone tell me if you can unlock or download (or somehow) enable GPS software on the SPV M3100? Any suggestions would be great.

WM5 on SPV M1000
Tried also WM5 on mij SPV M1000. Looked excellent, but.... had great difficulties in connecting my Rikaline BT GPS. Finally I gave up and went back to WM2003SE again. Hope for future improvements so I can upgrade tp WM5 again.
By the way: many thanks to all the people that invest susch a great deal of their time in making the pograms available for digibetes like ME!
And: Enjoy the holidays, and all the best wishes for 2006!
SPV M1000
SPV M1000 = Himalaya. I've just used the Magic Code and it unlocked it perfectly - though I'm still left with some apparently unremovable Orange files.
maybe shortcuts to them are located in
windows\startup
unwanted Orange Files
Rudegar - you're awesome! I found the unwanted files, as you said, in Widows/Start Menu and Settings. Thanks! Stephen.
I have been told that the M5000 is not supported by tom tom. i have a mate though that says he know a few people that have managed to get it working on their SPV m5000 or XDA Exec's. Can anyone help - it was a big reason for moving from blackberry and I'm gutted I didn't go for the M2000 instead for that reason (even though I would loose the wireless ability).
you nead v5.21. I have it running on my m5000.
you have to install each cab file inturn.
see here for full details of install

Has anyone got Tom Tom to work successfully on an unlocked SPV M1000? If so, I'd love to know ....
1. What GPS Receiver did you use, and where did you buy it?
2. What TomTom settings worked?
Thanks, and greetings from sunny Spain!
Stephen

a pda phone being unlocked have nothing to do with gps
pda's without phone can use gps too
a gps is unlikely to know a device have a phone or if that phone is locked or unlocked
Can anyone help, i have recently got tomtom sat nav for my SPV M1000, i bought a GPS receiver that plugs into my M1000 (XDA II cable) but tomtom says there is no GPS receiver, or no GPS signal, what do i do
hear people talking about one having to pick comport to talk with the gps
recall some people having to disable auto recieve beams to get the comport it takes up
Having spent hours trying to make my SPV work with a non-TomTom bluetooth GPS and taken on board other with the same problem along with various 'hacks' to enable the registry to be edited, I found something interesting. Unless the cellular phone side is enabled, the GPS data does not get into the TomTom software for some reason. Also the port availability changes if the phone in in flight mode. TomTom does not support the M5000, but it does work - as long as the phone is active.
2006 M5000 update.
Have you downloaded the latest 2005 OS for the M5000? Can't remember where I found it but it was released by Orange. I installed it the other day and it seems to cure a few bugs.
