Voice Command does not announce on Nokia BH801 - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I just got a Cingular 8525 and a Nokia BH801 headset. I have installed MS Voice Command and have set Notifications to Announce notifications using Bluetooth hands free only. Voice Command does not recognize the button press from the 801 and announces through the speaker only even though the 801 is enabled for handsfree calling. Does anyone have a hack or tweak to make this work properly please?

Did you try searching AT ALL??? There is a HUGE thread on MS VC 1.6 AND it's also in the Wiki.

Best BT headset for use with MS voice command using wizard

I'm fed up! currently using an Ericsson HBH-662 with it, and it's crap!!! I can only use the headset to activate the voice command once. Clicking the headset button does not release the channel. Consequently when I try and start MS Voice again I just get a dull click in the ericsson earpiece and it will not activate the headset.
Can anyone recommend a headset that is working well with the voice command hack.
thanks.
Is MS Upgrading Voice Command
I had exactly the same problem, I followed the instructions to get MS Voice Command to activate via the headset, then I couldn't disconnect. So I gave up.
I'm waiting for MS to release an upgrade that works properly with BT
It is a problem with VC not the headset. Note that VC isn't designed to do what we are trying. It requires a reg hack to even implement it. Hopefully it'll change, but a new headset likely won't help.

Bluetooth w/ voice command?

Hey, i just got a bluetooth headset. There is a phone button, that if you push it you can say whoever you want to call and it calls them (or is supposed to), is there any way that i can have this button work with Voice Command 1.5 instead of the phone default thing? because it works a lot better, and i have to program the voices in for the phone default program.
Thanks in advance.
I don't think it'll work with VC 1.5, but MS has just released version 1.6, which claims to support voice dial -- you can get it from Handango.

Microsoft Voice Commander 1.6 - Voice commands over BT headset - For Blueangel

Any of you guys had managed to get the voice commands coming out from your BT headsets using MS VC 1.6?
i.e. you press BT headset to activate VC 1.6, instructions from VC 1.6 comes through BT headset, you give instructions through Mic of BT headset.
I tried searching in the forum and only managed to find one thread here but that seems to be only applicable to Hermes.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
Working flawless on my wizard. did you setup VC6 to announce via BT? sometimes we miss the simplest things
EDIT: I'm using the motorola H500
From MS Voice Command troubleshooting
Bluetooth Usage Trouble
Pressing the Bluetooth headset button doesn’t do anything
You must soft reset your phone after you’ve installed Voice Command before the Bluetooth headset will work for initiating Voice Commands.
If this doesn’t resolve the problem, it is likely that you are trying to use the Bluetooth functionality on an unsupported device. Voice Command’s Bluetooth functionality will work on devices that include the Microsoft Bluetooth stack, that conform to Microsoft’s guidelines for Bluetooth driver implementation, and for devices that have the correct hardware implementation necessary to route system audio through the Bluetooth headset.
If you have a device that does not include the Microsoft Bluetooth stack, you may be able to route all system audio through the headset using the Bluetooth stack vendor’s Bluetooth control panel. If you can, you can use Voice Command over Bluetooth by pressing a hardware button on the device and conducting the interaction via the headset. The Bluetooth audio routing options will not work properly on devices that do not use the Microsoft Bluetooth stack. You should select “Announce notifications using Bluetooth hands free if available” on these devices.

You were right. I missed setting up VC 1.6 to announce via BT. BTW, I had since set it to 2nd option from top, i.e. Annouce notifications using BT hands free if available. When I received an incoming call earlier, I believe the notifications came through the speakerphone as well as my BT headset, and when I spoke, I believe it went through the BT headset. Is this behaviour correct?
If I set to 1st option of Announce notifications using BT hands free only, does it mean incoming calls will go to BT head set only, and nothing from speakerphone?
Thanks.

When you initiate a call with the BT hands free button, does the instructions from VC 1.6 come from your Wizard or BT hands free? If you give your instructions, does it goes through the BT hands free MIC or Wizard Mic?
I'm having an intermittant problem with the voice announcing. I can initiate the voice command with the button on my bt headset, I get the little beeps prompting me to speak, I give the command and then 75% of the time I dont get the voice announcement back saying "call soandso home?" but the contact will come up on the screen Every now and then I will get the voice prompt...cant figure out why its intermittant.
I'm using the plantronics 655 with the tmobile wing.

Few ms voice command questions

do both version 1.5 and 1.6 work with the atom?
does the registry patch with 1.5 make it work with a bluetooth headset?
does the voice dialer that comes with the atom exec interfere with voice command or do i simply install 1.6?
has anybody here used ms voice command, if so which version and with or without bluetooth and how is the performance?
thanks 4 any info
actually can the build-in voice dialer be made to work with a bluetooth headset, i tried but without luck
HI,
I'm using 1.6 with bluetooth and no problems
so you can voice dial with the bluetooth right?
did you have to do anything with the built-in voice dialer program or just ignore it
Just ignore it.
Microsoft Voice Command works well. It transfer the audio to headset when the headset button is pressed. You can even set it to make announcement to headset.
My only problem is, it speaks too fast & I do not know how to set it.
I'm running MSVC 1.6 on my Atom but the voice dial over BT headset does not work properly.......however 1.6 is much better than 1.5 and I would still recommend it.
Check out this registry edit to SLOW down MS Voice Commander. I set mine to 3 and it is just peeerfect!

Thanks for the info, angusc.
I should have added that I have tried the Motorola HS700 and also the I-Tech Clip R35.....neither of these seem to work with MSVC but I think it is more to do with the O2 ATOM PDA rather than the BT headsets.

Is using MS voice command through BT hands free possible?

I've done some searches and not found anybody who manages to use MS voice command through a hands free headset.
I've just bought a parrot bluetooth hands free for my car. I'd hoped to be able to use MS voice command for voice dialing. I get the actual phone call through the hands free, but the voice prompts for VC come through the phone and the mic on the phone is used for voice recognition.
I've read people hacking about to get all audio through the hands free, but the hack I've seen disables VC.
Does anyone know if it's possible? Or is there any other software that can be used for voice dialing through the hands free. I'm guessing not if it's htc bad implementation of the bluetooth stack.
Cheers
it is definitely possible - if with BT handsfree you mean bluetooth headsets. With my Jabra BT620s i could use MS voice commander 1.6 and give instructions....it ALMOST works, in the sense that it technically does the job but, at the end, i didn't like it: too sensitive to noise and to....my english....

I have the same problem - has anyone found a fix?
Incoming calls are fine, also connections that are made after the initial user-to-phone command.
I also have a diamond and this operates just fine ie the MSVC prompt comes through the bluetooth OK.
Thanks
PS yes, I have tried changing HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway
BTAGExtModule =vcbthag.dll to BTAGExt.dll
