is there a method of showing the time as well as the date of a message, whether it be text or mail, that is more than one day old? on my TyTN it just shows the date.
does no answer mean there isnt one?
Open the message and the date and time will show in the header. Probably not the answer you wanted.

On almost every verizon phone when you send a text message and if you go into your sent box it'll say the sent time and when a person checks it it'll say delivered and a time. So if I send someone a text message and they dont check it for a couple hours I know because of the time. I was just wondering if this feature is available on our 6800's because I can't seem to find it
I as well enjoyed this feature on my old phone.
I noticed in the Sent Items view all of my messages show a status of "OK". However, it would be nice to know for sure that it was received and at what time.
Hi everyone,
I'm using my blackstone for a couple of weeks now and I really like the device. Still I'm missing a couple of features for text messages, that my old Nokia N73 used to have. Maybe I just haven't found them yet, so please help me.
- finding out the receiving time of a text message I received more than a day ago (just displays the date in threaded view)
- message receipts are not related to the message or the name of the recipient (just a new text message "message delivered to <phone number>" - which message ). Symbian OS has an extra tab for the receipts with the recipient name and the status (waiting, error, received) of the message which is quite nice to have, I think
- I know there was one more thing, so maybe more to come... will add things that come to my mind... getting old...
Looking forward to replies, thx in advance.

for the first question, i didn't care much so i didn't bother to find about the time..
for the second, try SMSDRFix, just google it.
double post..........
I've noticed recently a lot of times that I get texts, I do not get an alert to show there are new messages until 2 have been received.
It does not do this every time but it's happened a lot. It means that you do not get an alert for the first one until the second arrives even though they can be quite a while apart.
The other issue is that the time it shows on the text messages I receive seems to be wrong and quite often (if not all the time - not sure) shows the time as actually being in the future, even though the clock on the phone itself is correct.
I'm confused!!! Any ideas?
Bump
Anyone?
with regard to the device not alerting u, except after the 2nd msg, i honestly have no idea what that is, and haven't heard anything like it before.
as for the incorrect time, if this is happening when u receive a msg from a different country from a different time zone, then try this registry tweak
HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting Create TrustTimeZoneField = 0 (DWORD key )
Hello,
I seem to be having an issue with the time stamps on my text messages. The ones that I send are okay, however the ones that I receive all have different times on them. For example:
If I send a text at 8:15PM and receive a reply right away, it'll show my text sent at 8:15PM, but the reply will have a back dated time... Maybe 5PM, 4PM... something like that.
Any ideas why?
Thanks!
I find this but its by no means universal. some messages I recive are an hour ahead others are not. I recived two messages at almost the same time & one of them had the wrong time. I can't wait for the new update to fix all of these little issues
I've seen this problem since my G1. It's still suffering from it, as is my Magic and my Hero.
I'm still having the same issue.
My received text messages show a time of 4 hours behind.
So if I send a text at 6:30 and receive a reply at 6:32, it shows 2:32 as the received time.
Does anyone know if there's a fix for this? I have updated to the latest (leaked) firmware, but still no luck.
Thanks!
Are you all on the same network? Might not be the phone because i've never noticed this

Was just going to ask this... What network are you on, have you set network location to automatic by carrier, if so, set it manually to the city / country you are in.
I'm on O2 and have been using the network provided values.
I've set it to manual and text someone at 12:44. The reply came in a little while after and was stamped 12:45 so no issue there it seems. Strange.
I'm now getting issues now with texts in fairly quick succession.
The time stamps can be the same i.e. 21:17 but a reply from someone will sometimes appear before my original text in thread view.
Also a reply came in to one of my texts with a time stamp before my original text. This was displayed "correctly" as before my text, but the fact its timestamped in this way can't be right.
Anyone else seen this?
It's like the phone is looking at minutes for accuracy, not seconds. Also taking the timestamp of when a text was sent from the other person's phone as the time received to my phone. Hm :/
I get this on Orange when I receive a message from the US. All my outgoing messages are listed at the bottom of the conversation, while the one received from the US are at the top.
UK based conversations are all threaded correctly.
Ok thanks.
It never used to be like this so I'm wondering after prolonged use the sms database gets a bit corrupted somehow?
For me it seems to behave like this: for outgoing (sent) messages I see the time that is set on Hero. For incoming messages, however, Hero shows the time on the network provider.
I assume there is some header in SMS message containing the time, and Hero uses that instead of using the time Hero has when the message arrives.
I started using the Network Provider time (automatic) to get rid of this.
I was just looking down at my SMS inbox (I wish there was a way to default to the inbox style rather than having to select it each time)
anyway...my message times are wrong.
eg I received a message at 8.00am this morning..looks ok
I received another one at 12.30...however, my phone reports this as being 12.30am....not pm....
anyone else have that?
That happens to me when receiver/sender are in different time zones...
wellmy mate is only an hour down the road, so it's not that thats causing it
SMS receipt time incorrect
I'm having the same issue. It seems to only happen at midnight or noon.
I work from noon til midnight. I have text conversations throughout the day with many people on the same schedule. After work we talk (via text) and the new texts are listed before the text conversation prior to midnight.
It's weird that not all the texts come in that way. 1 will, then I reply, then they reply (comes in normal) then their next reply is listed before all others. Kinda confusing, but now that I know what its doing, I can follow it. But would love a fix.
