Vista, Sync Centre and WM5 - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if there any alternatives to the Sync Centre and/or WM5 ?
I've recently "upgraded" to Vista (HP) and just don't like the sync relationship/set up..
It would be interesting to hear if anyone has arranged something different on thier Vista machine?
Thanks in advance

Well,
you can use the SOTI Pocket Controller Professional and make basic such as file synchronization either via WLAN or BLUETOOTH.

Wizard Pocket PC 2003?

Has anyone or does anyone have their 8125/Wizard running pocket pc 2003? I would like to use Money for Pocket PC, but Mobile 2005 changed something in the networking and when I sync it with money it actually corrupts the db. Thanks!

Gah! Microsoft Has Forsaken Me - Vista and WM5

Windows Vista only Uses Mobile Centre.
Windows Vista does not support active sync.
Mobile Centre Only supports Windows Mobile 2003.
Thus.
Vista Does Not Support Windows Mobile 5.
Any Other ways to connect I'm not seeing?
EDIT: My bad, 2003 came before 5, so why is it telling me that it's not supported?
It supports WM5 just fine. Been running Vista since RC1 and have not had any sync problems.
i've been able to use windows vista and have it sync with my wm5 wizard...contact, calendar, etc info appear in outlook just fine after the sync...
Vista was a pain in the ar5e to get WMDC to sync with my k-jam, it is a problem with RNDIS, what you need to do is switch the connection method in Start -> Settings -> Connections USB to PC and set it to serial
then you should be able to get it to work as normal.

I can't seem to find that option in the settings. T_T
EDIT: I've never noticed it before, but my phone is also throwing up error messages about how it can't assign an IP to the netowork
ah ha so you have the same prob I had when I tried it initially, the ACU you are using is to old, you need to upgrade it to ACU 3.3 to get the functionality failing that you can install a simple CAB that will give you the functionality. I have no way of sharing the file so if you mail me your email address I can mail it to you.

Problem with sync on work network..

hi guys,
I use my own laptop on our works network. I have Activesync on the laptop and can sync my XDAIIs with the laptop no problem.
however, as all our email and calendar information is stored in "Public Folders" in Outlook (on our network somewhere I guess?) , I want to be able to sync my work diary and email across to my PDA, and back again - I only go into the office a couple of days a week, so it'd be great to effectively carry it around with me.
However - Can't do it!
I don't know a great deal about the information that might help you, but my laptop uses XP Pro SP2, and MS Office 2003, and work uses MS Exchange Server.
Sorry if this is a cr*p explanation, but if you think you can help, ask ANYTHING you want!
Thanks in advance!

I Need Some Help Please

Hi There,
I am the proud new owner of a T Mobile Mda Vario II. So far I love it, I have gotten my email set up etc. The only problem I have is that I am a avid user of Microsoft Money 2005. Now on my PC I am running Windows Vista Home Basic edition. So when I try to install a program to my Vario which should allow me to keep track of my Microsoft Money accounts the installation tells me I have no Microsoft Money installed on my PC to Synch with. I am using the lastest release of Synch centre etc. So I don't know what the answer is. I was hoping some of you nice people on here might be able to help me out
how about some more info like what app you are trying to install what version of WMDC are you running the more info the better
It's microsoft money for the pocket pc. It ran perfectly when I had windows xp on my main pc with my other pocket pc. Since having windows home basic the program won't find the main program on the pc therefore I cannot synch my vario with the pc.
@quietgirl: WMDC = Windows Mobile Device Center. Try looking into that and re-read austinsnyc's response.

Many people have reported issues with Money for PocketPC on WM5 devices. MS only support it on Wm2003 devices, but some users say they have it working fine on WM5. Hopefully someone in that newsgroup can help you.
Thanks for the advice. just thought I would post back what i've tried. none of the ppc programs will synch properly so I tried a trial version of sbf finance I think its called. after synching it quadrupled every entry in my money program on the pc. I have opted not to bother now. but just wanted to say thanks for the advice.

Download.
You should be looking for Windows Mobile Device Centre (WMDC). As explained Vista cannot use ActiveSync and therefore WMDC is its equivilent.
Download, install, connect phone, go through some basic guided steps et voila. Synced phone and satisfied customer
