Data tracking software? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hi,
I have a limited data plan with my service provider and I was wondering if anyone knows of a software package that'll keep track of how much data I've used.
I saw one online recently but forgot where I saw it. I've tried searching but not sure what to search for. Data tracking or logging doesn't come up with what I'm looking for.
Much appreciated...

Another potential fix is to get unlimited internet access; with Cing it's only $19.95; then, no counting, no worries.... Cing also keeps track of data use through it's online access site, generally only 1-2 days behind real time but gives you a good idea of data usage.

SmaatoCost is an AWESOME app. It will even break down your data useage between GPRS and WiFi, so you know how much of each type of connection you were using. I've been using it for a little over 9 months and can say it's been pretty much "on target" as far as how my data useage has been billed and all the rest of my billing details (calls, SMS, MMS, etc.)
- have to install a program that download and displays ads (hope it only do that...)
- ugly display on vga ppc (htc touch diamond)
- doesn't seem to detect the gprs data on my diamond, it only display voice call info... and tried several "recalculate", tried to have data connection while the program is running... recalculate again... nothing. It still diplay 0 data connection...
So a lot of options/config, seem to be a nice prog, but useless if it doesn't detect the data connection info...
What is it with all of the Diamond people coming to the Wizard boards lately? This works for the Wizard, not the Diamond, which is why it isnt in their forums.

Data Triggering?

I have not had cooked roms on my phone for more than a month (only because of ignorance) However I'm currently using colonel's gps rom for titan but I'm a alltel customer and that is a sprint rom. I haven't found any problems except for the data side. I entered in all my info as far as what the alltel people told me to, but It seems like I have to "trigger" the data service to come on in some apps. I will have to open pie or something like that to get a working network connection and sometimes that won't work it'll just say "could not connect for a unknown reason." Is there a way to make data always on? I have unlimited plan and battery is not a huge deal it is annoying when trying to use wmwifi router or a gps tracking prog I'm looking at. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

TyTN transmitting large amounts of data automatically

Hi all,
need some help here... My TyTN is transmitting large blocks of data randomly - but typically when I stop the wireless data connection.
I am on Rogers, and I am now using WM 6 (Dopod release WWE).
any thoughts, resolutions?
I have no idea what is being sent, or to where...
using GPRS monitor, so i know how much but not to whom or where.
I've been careful to stip all internet using apps, tried soft reset...
Any suggestions? Thoughts?
You using any weather software (including in HTC home) because they update heaps. You need to go into the settings and pick MANUAL UPDATE or it continually gets data through your 3g connection...
BAD if you have a crappy EXPENSIVE data plan.
Cheers...
Check out a program called NoData. Give it a google search. It basically blocks anything that isn't sms, mms or voice calls. Great if you are paranoid about data.

Data connection

Hi there!
I'm eagerly waiting for SGS to be released in my country (Bulgaria) to take my greedy hands on it. I peronally believe that SGS is most finished Andriod mobile as for now. During waiting, I would like to ask all of happy real users a following question:
[QUESTION] Is it possible to turn all data connection surely off?
I know, there is an option to shut data off, but is it sure? In HD2 even you turned off data connection, the phone decides to turn it on by itself in matter of minutes, whithout asking for permition . Temporarily, I have a very limited data plan, so such an situation can easily get me overcharged.
Your detailed commends will be very much appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
it is possible with 3rd party programs like APN ON/OFF, Data On Demand, etc..
Yes, there is an app called APNDroid on the Market that changes the APN settings when you want to turn off data. This way you can be sure it won't use any data as the APNs don't work.
I use APNdroid, a free app, for turning of data traffic. Up until now, a week, it has not been turned on automatically. It pretty much works the way I expect it too.
However no guarantees. Even APNdroid says that some programs might remain active, but my battery certainly improves with turned of 3G.
Thank you for immediate answers. It prety much seems that APNDroid will do the job. However, next question arrose:
[QUESTION] How can you supervise your data traffic, e.g. how many MB you've already spent?
Great forum, tho.
Best.
I use 3G Watchdog. You can set a monthly data limit which is nice. And it works together with APNdroid by shutting off 3G automatically when you for example reach 99% of that monthly quota. It doesn't do this out of the box. You have to enable the feature in the settings of 3G Watchdog after installing APNdroid.
I suggest that you install 3G Watchdog app first.
Yes, I too use 3G Watchdog.
Very nice App and you get to see both Received & Transmitted data for:-

Thank you very much for the comprehensive answers of yours!
I have no more questions. Waiting for the release date.
Wish you nice day.
