Screen calibration problem = low battery - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

After couple of days testing and "keeping 24/7 on eye" my SPV M500...
i pritty sure the calibration problem (alignin screen) is connected with battery life.
few days ago i've frequently stayed wth battery under 30% and i use activesync to recharge battery but only for 15-20 min max.
(after charging battery sensor showed 100% for short time and then normally drop down on app. 75 or 80 or 65 depends on charging time)
these days i have couple of times that problem.
in the upper left corner screen was decalibrated by 0,5cm. The more i waiting the lenght was bigger (0,5->1>1,5cm). When i done with aligning screen everything is ok for couple of hours.
BUT
two days ago i put my phone on regular charger for a long time *2-3hrs
100% battery. etc etc
conclusaion: i havent this problem during that last two days
maybe im wrong but
my friend with qtek 9100 has some problems when battery reaches 30%.
- landscape mode does not work (30%)
- qwerty keyboard does not work (20-25%)

Increase battery life of o2 NEO ??

I am facing battery problems. I fully charge my phone and after a few short calls my battery level drops down to 90% remaining level. Am I the only one facing this problem ? I have made necessary changes to improve the life.
1) reduced the back light to auto shut after 15 seconds of inactivity
2) standby mode in 30 seconds of inactivity
3) backlight is set to the second bar.
3) GPRS is not connected bluetooth is off and wi-fi is off.
I just purchased this phone 2 weeks back so the battery is brand new
Battery info: model number is PM16A, 3.7 Volt DC @ 1200 mAh (DynaPack)
I need to recharge the battery every 24 hours. Is this NORMAL ?
I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks.
It's normal. Battery life in pocket pcs and pocket pc phones in general is like that.
I've always noticed that in my PPC and my Prophet, the battery drops down REALLY fast to 85-90%. Then it slowly goes down. Then around 60%, it again gets stuck. Then it goes down again, but very slowly. You'll get a good 2 days of usage with moderate use.
Though I usually charge my phone every night, when it is at about 55-60%.
In the morning when I take it off the charger, it drops down to 90-92% after I only read 1-2 SMS messages and maybe make a short 5 minute call. It's normal.

tytn battery life

yo homies
just wondering what sort of batterylife are you getting out of your tytns.
post your times like this
wifi--
media playback--
phone--
GPRS--
anything else you care to mention--
cheers Ganon
firstly bought my 838pro (dopod variant) less than a week ago, so have not gone through everything yet
wifi - yet to try
media playback - little
phone - 2hr+ per day
GPRS - yet to use (did play with the videophony a few days back)
Battery was recharged about 3 days ago, so its ~3days I guess...
One thing to take note is the battery indicator is bit querky, the level is scaled on a 10% rate, eg 100%->90%->80% etc
Battery Seem to last for a bit m ore than a day depending on usage.
I believe that it has the stardard/average PPC phone battery power longetivity but the battery reports every 10% instead of 1% is inacceptable...
Battery Indicator
Does anyone know how modify the battery indicator to run at 1% intervals?
I cannot find a solution to this yet. Hopefully some of the experts will...
I dont get why the fact that the battery goes down in
10% leaps instead of 1% bothers people so much. It does not make the thing less accurate,
perhaps it makes it even more accurate since depending on use one percent might
go a lot faster then another.
I'am quite a heavy user, so I recharge daily for few hours, when
the phone is connected to my comp.
I understand. As a heavy PDA Phone user. The TyTN battery seems to last for quite a long time. But the increment of 10% is too big for a battery meter.
Just like a thermometer, 2~3 degree celcius changes are not very significant for what we feel. But that doesnt mean it shouldnt show every 1 degree
For the car fuel indicator, no one would want it to pop from 10% to 0% all in a sudden. Altho we all know that 10% means low on fuel.
The resolution of 10% is too big IMO for this application UNLESS there is a significant reason for it to be 10% like it will drain ALOT of battery if it is being reported every 1 or 2%.
Hi
My XDA trion makes me sad.
The first time all works fine, but now the charging end at 90% and after 1 day the battery-tool says "low of battery"!
I tried a softreset, but the problem dont disappeared.
Can you help me?
EnzephaloN
I read in some review that it can play MP3s for 8 hours? Has anyone tried how long they can play MP3s for?
I have the same problem as EnzephaloN.
After charging my Dopod 838 pro to full charge in the afternoon. The following day, when i wake up, it is down to 20%!!
Has anyone else experienced the same problem?
I barely used the phone during this period and I have turned off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

mine's even worse, charge overnight, and after taking of charge at 9am it's dead by 4pm after just a few calls and the rest of the time on standby, noticed that the machine stays slightly warm all the time. the few times that it has held a charge it is cool to the touch, even when using it
switch to gsm band.......and use UMTS band only if necesary
am using only gsm band, but still the machine only lasts 4-5 hours on a charge. Stays warm the whole time

Mine only gets warm with intense browsing, streaming media, or wi-fi use more than 30min or so.
Also when i have UMTS/3G off mine will last all day. but with it on, it'll last a little more than half a day.
if it stays warm, i suspect you have some background task running all the time or your power saving has been turned off, why don't you do a full backup, then hard reset and test again? mine works more than a day with UMTS turned off and less than a day with it on.

Accu

Hi,
how long you can use your phone without charging?
I have disabled UMTS and when I'm chatting with ICQ it hold 5 hours max.
I was in school and in the morning my phone was full charged 3 hours late it was by 70%....
if i dont use it to play some games or customize themes, it can be used for almost 2 days without charging
1 day
*my message too short bla bla bla*
12 hours battery lifetime
hi, I had (or still have) the same problem. My battery lasts only 12 hours without touching the phone once (battery charged when device was powered on)!! On the other side, I can use the phone for about 3 days when I power it off (total shutdown) while charging the battery. It's in repair for the third time now I hope they solve the problem this time.

Maybe you're running a process in background which uses power. I had the same problem for example with SPB Mobile Shell and S2U2 (they used a lot of power in early versions, both fixed).
Now I can use mine 2-3 hours with Navigon & BT GPS, 5 hours when using (phoncalls, messaging, working, flashing, configuring, backuping,...) and >24 hours in stand-by (not shutdown).

Heat heat heat !!!

Hi,
Last night i plugged my legend in to charge, it was really drained after 3 days and 13 hours.
So while it was charging i was listening to music via bluetooth and surfing the web via my APN.
After 30 minutes i noticed that my legend was extremeLy hot.
Then i also noticed that the LED was blinking between orange and green.
I stopt using my phone for a while and the LED stopt blinking after about 15 minutes.
Has anyone else experienced this ?
It has been "hot" past several days (25-30 degrees celsius).
heat is quite normal cose of aluminium body...but i didnt notice that led blinking
I noticed the blinking LED in my car today, too. The HTC battery widget showed 47.3° C (117.1° F).
I'm afraid something wend wrong, my battery lasted only 5 hours today, regular usage...
No GPS/WIFI/3G, Only "sms's" and EDGE connection (mine normally lasts max 2 days with this type of usage), but now only 5 hours.
It drained so fast, like i was using gps. However when i looked at the combining power-widget it was disabled...
Now after a full recharge gps was enabled ? Strange...
So lets hope its gone last my party-night and the gps was on before...
(totally off-topic: party-night -> I passed my exams when I totally didn't expected it (PARTY-HARDY !) FYI)
if you have many apps on the phone the battery drains much much faster..
i made a factory data reset, and now my phone is clear, like a new phone.
and i noticed that the battery is draining much slower, before i did charge the phone almost every night, but not there goes 3-4 days without charge
Ok, it's fine...
I know about the apps running but i've got a taskmanager running. It is clear that it was the gps.

Nexus 4 and low voltage charging

Hey guys... first post, here we go!
I got my nexus over a week ago and to my surprise everything was perfect (ordered three of them, had to RMA two due to screen problems). Now I'm thinking of RMAing this one as well.
So everything was fine until two days ago I decided to charge my phone by plugging it in to my computer's USB port. Since then the battery (or the battery reading) is acting weird.
It seems that when I charge my phone through USB and then unplug it, it literally loses a % every minute, and then would stop at lets say 10%, and that 10% would last me for a good 45 minutes of screen time. My battery used to discharge one percent at a time, but now it seems like it's stuck on a certain percentage, and then some time later it drastically drops. The battery app sort of confirms that... there always used to be a steady line going down. Now it's always a straight line (battery not discharging), and then a sharp vertical line going down).
I charged my phone to a 100% with a power outlet just now, it seems to be discharging normally again. I am at 93% now, the phone was charged 4 hours ago, screen time is 15 minutes. Is this normal? Seems sort of normal to me.. I can't tell what normal is anymore. I am able to get about 3.5-4 hours of screen time (unless I am playing GTA vice city, then two hours at most).
BetterBatteryStats doesn't show anything too suspicious, there are no partial wakelocks however the phone does stay awake a little bit longer than screen time, but just a tiny bit — it's still in deep sleep mode most of the time.
Is my battery malfunctioning? Should I RMA? I have two days to decide, urgh.

dude, cool down, it's all good... if you get 3-4 hours screen time, it's all ok. sometimes androids start acting weird battery wise. if you see strange things happening with your battery, reboot the phone. if this doesn't help, power it off and charge it up to 100%. unplug it and do not power it on for 60 minutes.
power it on then, it should be ok then. if not, another reboot then always fixed it for me (and all my other android-devices).
best regards,
hallu
