Hi everybody, I'm searching for an alternative of SmartsKey for 2003SE.
Don't you know about any available program?
I'm looking specifically for changing the funcion of volume button as follows:
Volume Up = Jog up
Volume down = Jog pressed (OK, confirmation).
I have a countdown timer application, currently operated with a jog, but need to be operated (ideally with the volum ebutton as it's on the side of the PDA).
Thanks a lot for all your help.

One soft I find very usefull with my qtek 9100 is Xbar (new pocket pc version).
This soft was designed for smartphone (one handed operation).
It happens that qtek 9100 is a smartphone too and one haded operation is good for it also.
Especially considering the fact that most task switcher have not yet been optimised for WM5.
This one is also great for in it is only 57 ko.
Now the problem is you can map buttons but as it was designed for SPV c500 (like HOME, BACK, 1, 2, 3, 4, *, #) I am not able to find what are the buttons for Qtek 9100.
Did someone managed to map some buttons or even the full keyboard?
That would make a fantastic launcher with 40 shortcuts in 2 clicks.
Yes, specially since there`s no CUT/COPY/PASTE shortcuts on the keyboard and that Xbar has them. Can you map some shortcut frrom the keyboard to these?
yes no problem.
you have to create shortcuts to the copy/Paste in "xmacros" folder.
Then you put it in "key" folder and rename it whatever you want.
I used "w.lnk" and "x.lnk" as it is mapped to volume UP/DOWN.
But it also work with w and x keys on the keyboard when it is open.
I guess you can use "c" and "v" if you are more classic.
Hi VJ, I looked on your list but I cant find the correct #'s for the L and R softkey can you or anyone else help me please. thank you
Chakra: I just wrote appoximately a page's worth of answer why this wasn't possible. Then I had an idea
It's keys 112 and 113, left and right respectively
I love it when I prove myself wrong...
V
that doesnt seem to be working
What device are you using? 112 and 113 are for the Universal.
V
I have a KJAM
Can someone else test this. I'd be surprised it the Universal and Wizard had different keypresses. Chakra, if no one else has any luck, I'll send you a little program later to help us figure it out. I'm going out tonight, but PM me if I forget.

I am using ae button plus 2.1 allong with your vijay key press. I have asigned the right softkey to have three functions one press, two press, and three press. when I use vjkeypress 113 for the first press i get the reaction of the second press. and when I am in anouther program the softkey does nothing. maybee this has to do with ae not vjkeypress. I am just looking for a way to use the right softkey while also using the second and third functions when I want????
Chakra, I think that makes all the difference. I think AE Button Plus is simulating button presses, and VJKeyPress is simulating button presses, and it won't be pretty.
Try it without AE Button first, and then try playing with the order of your keypresses. It's not an ideal solution though I imagine.
V
Ill try it thanks.
For what it's worth... the key codes for an HTC Wizard WIZA200 are:
Volume slider Down : 118 (left side of device, near top)
Volume slider Up : 117 (left side of device, near top)
Comm Manager : 198 (left side of device, very top)
Left soft key : 112
Right soft key : 113
Phone answer : 114
Phone hang-up : 115
The rest are just the regular up/down/left/right/action buttons and buttons 1 through 4 (messaging, internet explorer, voice commands/recorder, camera). Not sure what codes those technically carry.
Hi all,
Can someone enlighten me on this?
I have an O2 Atom PPC Phone running WM5.0. The default Start buttons calls up WM5.0 Start Menu.
I will like to remapped it to become a Left Softkey activation button by tweaking some registry entry.
Is it possible?
Thanks for the help.
Hi! I have a HTC TyTn and I have a trouble with the possibility to reassign the functions to the hardware buttons START and OK in the front of the device in the D-Pad. Infact, In my previous device, a Qtek S200, I was to be able to assign a different shortcut (for example, in replacement of the OK button, I put the wisbar lite task manager link).
I have also tried AE Button Plus, but che Start and OK remains hold on.
Is there anyway to activate this possibility?
Thanks in advance!
Bye
Stefano
Sorry.... Is there a solution? anyone?
Thanks
Stefano
I'm also interested in this. Is there any way to reassign the functions of the "start" (windows) and "ok" buttons to the left and right of the d-pad on the hermes?
AE Button plus, but I have found it twitchy on the TyTN. If you only map those two buttons, you should experience little trouble though.
Hi everybody!!

Use AE Button Plus.
Hi!
Thanks for your reply. So i've download AE Button Plus and installed it on my PPC. The soft works correctly, I can remap the buttons of my PPC and it is working but only in the Windows interface. when I launch a game like doom duke3d or wolf3d the volUp (and others...) key don't want work
So I suppose I don't use this software correctly. Could someone can explain me how I must the soft?
I've tried to remap the VolumeUp key by selecting "Handle by AEBPlus" "Single Press" "Volume Up". Is it the correct way to use this key in gfDoom?
Thanks
