wifi and proxy settings - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

I am having a bad time configuring my universal to access the internet via wifi at my office.
The comm manager says it is connected to the internet but I cannot access any site or use skype, email, etc.
The network I use at work is an open connection, no wep, just mac address security but requires the use of a proxy server with a user name, password and a defined port.
The problem is I cannot find where to enter the proxy settings.
At home I have a linksys wcg200, cable modem/wifi router and the universal connects flawlessly, no proxy used.
Thanks for any help.

I-Mate PDA2k Wi-Fi -- SENAO wireless Access point

Hi guys,
I don’t know you guys can help me or not well My problem is
I’m trying to connect my I-Mate PDA2k to Senao Wireless Assess point my access point connected with my network switch .My access point showing WAN light and on my mobile also showing “W” its mean PDA getting signals but I can’t access internet from my PDA.
I don’t know how to configure access point I took access point without catalog and serial cord I don’t we use serial cord or not.
In simple words I want 2 access internet without GPRS.
Information:
SENAO
2-port switch wireless router printer server
SL-2511SR PLUS(F200)
MAC 005018578BO
I-Mate PDA2k Microsoft
OS windows 2003 CE
Local network
IP Class Local = 192.168.0.XX
Internet Sharing = ON
Look for help on configuring your the Senao web site for configuring your wireless router: www.senao.com.tw. I have an access point and it's working like a charm with my Blue Angel.
If you don't have a DHCP server or you have not configured your wireless router as a DHCP server, follow these procedures on your PDA:
Tap Start, Settings, Connections (tab), Network Cards (icon), Network Adapters (tab), tiacxwln Compatible Wireless Etherne....
Then check: Use specific IP address. You'll need to set values for IP Address, Subnet mask, and Default gateway. You IP address should be (quoting you) something like 192.168.0.xxx and subnet mask is probably 255.255.255.0
Also be sure to tap on Name Servers, and fill in the info there, you'll need a DNS address to access the Internet.
Finally, to configure your proxy server, go back to Connections, Advanced, Select Networks, and create a new connections and configure the proxy server accordingly, if it exists. If you're supposed to connect thru SecureNAT (ie Default gateway), you can simply ignore this step, or create a network profile that "connects you to the Internet" without specifying a proxy server.

access unsecured network

i wants to know how can i access some unsecured network that are near my work place. Basically there are some unsecured network near my work, i have tried to connect to these networks so that i can use internet. However i have no luck in accessing it.
Do i need to enter any ip address in the network adapter or the ip address is automatically taken????
At the moment i have assigned the ip address to 192.168.1.201 so that i can connect to my orange live box.
Thanks in advance
it depend on the wifi router setup
as default it run dhcp and asign you an ip
but that can be turned off
some wifi's require a login to the internet isp's site or telnet to open for internet (i know my home one does)
also you cant really see if a wifi router use mac filtering
for security then it will just not route for you if your mac add is not on it's list

wifi problem

ok heres the deal... i have a MDA flashed with the software from att for the 8125 everything works great except when i turn wifi on, i can connect to the network but cant ever get a page to work. does anyone have any suggestions????? please help
Is this happening on any network or your home network?
Check this... go to Settings - Connections - Network Cards. Make sure the WLAN Adapter is set to connect to the internet. Then tap the WLAN Adapter and make sure IP Address is set to Server Assigned then in Name Servers you don't have anything. If any of these is different, change it to the above.
Yeah. I have the same problem. I have wifi pci asus, the signal is good. I have Lan tru router and now bridged connection. I set the ip, mask and gateway which are in the status of the brudge. And the internet explorer and opera wont load pages.?!??! dns isnt set.
The network adapter is sdio wlan.., and the connection is my work network in connection > connections > advanced >select networks.
i use wm6, nbd 8.0
What could be the problem???
it is home network and all other wifi locations
i know there is a problem with secured networks, especially with wpa encryption. try to remove the encryption and see how it goes....
I have removed all encription. I tried preety much everithing and it doesnt work. All other free wifi networks work just fine, i can surf on internet.
what router do you have? i know that i could not connect to a 3com router with the wizard with any rom i tried.
try using a defined ip address and dns, meaning no dhcp. use a real dns addresses and not the default gateway...

New to VPN, need help if you have a momment

I have a simple home net using mostly windows vista and 7 computers, some printers, external hd servers for backup storage and cameras in a workgroup static ip setup behind an off the shelf router. i set one of the computers as the vpn server since i dont want to buy a dedicated hardware vpn in a vista ultimate machine thats on 24/7 anyway with an incomming server... with the correct ports forwarded from the router to the vpn host.
my remote vpn laptop connects to the vpn fine and can see the network resources, however, has no internet connection once the vpn is connected. do i have to set the host vpn computer to do some sort of its own dns assignments to the incomming connection? its set for dhcp so i dont know why it would assign a valid IP to an incomming but not any other info.
in other words, on my remote laptop, i can connect to a random wireless internet hotspot and have full internet access. I can then enable vpn and log in to my home network and see all the network resources, however if i try to use an internet browser, there appears to be no internet. if i disconnect the vpn, the internet resumes to work fine and obviously the vpn resources are no longer accessable.
what am i missing? under incomming connection properties general tab, "allow others to make private..." is checked, under users the correct user is selected along with "require all users to secure...", and under networking ipv4 "allow callers to access..." is checked, and assign ip auto using dhcp is checked so I would think it should be working fine at this point, however it doesn list anywhere a gateway or dns to assine to incomming connections, only ip's.
host vpn computer is vista ultimate with static ip behind a retail router also assigned a static ip via my home isp.
the remote laptop is running ubuntu 12. just for kicks and to rule out ubuntu causing some problem, i set my android phone up for vpn use via 4g network, and the same thing happens. connects vpn fine, has local resources, but loses internet.
i also was curious as to having a vpn log in for the existing user account on the vpn host machine... in other words, should i just add the username on the host computer as a vpn client, and log in vpn using those credentials? and will that even work if that account is logged in, or will i have to remember to log out when im on the road to use the vpn connection.
thanks all!
