Which tool are you using?
iLauncher 2.3 or SPB Pocket Plus 3.1
or even an other tool ...let me know.
I like SPB, I am used to it and I get other plugins incorporated in it, ie. weather, backup, spb to play, and nice Icons.
I'm using both - iLauncher because I just find it better to use on my today screen, and I like having a row of "QuickStart" icons in my system tray, and P+ because it lets me use multiple windows in pIE, and gives me a task manager on my close button.
Of course, if Multiie or PiePlus (or anything similar) are ever updated for WM5, I'll be ditching P+ and using a seperate task manager along with iLauncher. (Wisbar Lite, perhaps)
All very complicated, this software business...!
I am a very happy user of the SPB Diary/PocketPlus/Clock series but I can't help but see that there is a huge world of customization for the SBSH PocketBreeze and iLauncher programs.
Does anyone know off hand which uses less system resources?
Anyone prefer one over the other? Why?
I am just curious, because I almost want to buy the SBSH suite even though I already have bought the SPB set.
Sbsh -- HANDS DOWN!!
For me, Sbsh was the winner -- hands down. Their apps were MUCH more customizable than Spb's. And I found that the Sbsh products used less system resources. I use Pocket Breeze, iLauncher and Pocket Weather
The only Spb products I use are Spb Time and Spb Finance. The Spb Time program give the option of a fullscreen display clock that Sbsh Clock does not offer and Spb Finance syncs with MS Money on my desktop so I can keep track of my finances during the day on my Wizard and not have to wait until I get home to enter everything into MS Money.
Another thing I like about Sbsh's PocketBreeze is that I was able to add a custom tab for the Spb products, as well. So, I can access the Spb Time AND the Spb Finance programs with one tap onscreen.
YMMV, but I HIGHLY recommend Sbsh!! There's EXCELLENT support on their forums as well. Can't vouch for support on Spb forums, as I didn't run the programs long enough to actually register on their's.
Can you make custom tabs to run Today plug-ins on PocketBreeze?
My bit with SPB's PocketPlus is that it take a big footprint on my Today screen on my Wizard when I have Chi-Dang's Battery Status, PocketMax's PhoneAlarm (with the Media Phone skin), and the Device Lock all on my device.
I would like to make a seperate system tab where I can put Chi-Dang's Battery Status in there with other system items...
I am almost curious to getting it now...
If a program appears on the list of available Today plugins on your device, you can assign a custom tab to it.
The only tab in PocketBreeze that can't be deleted is the Calendar tab. By default, it also has a tab for notes, messages, tasks and Special Events. You can choose NOT to use those and/or replace them/add your own.
Attached are some screenshots of my Wizard. I have mine set up so the tabs are vertically aligned on the screen, rather than horizontally aligned. You can run PocketBreeze minimized, or run it with one of the tabs opened -- by default it would run the calendar tab.
It has a 14 day fully functional trial period. I didn't wait the full 14 days to try it. I was sold after about 3 days and bought it. And, from what I'm reading on the Sbsh forums, there's an upgrade in the works, too!! All upgrades are FREE to registered users.
Hm... Now I am really intrigued... I may have to give it a whirl or even purchase it!
PocketBreeze is a MUST HAVE for me. The special settings to draw a border on the cleartype text and how it display my next appointments and todo's its amazing.
Bot programs can be tested on the emulator
I'm a big pocketbreeze fan as well
after trying both...I choose pocketbreeze handsdown...I love the display, the icons, pretty condense for the amount of info it displays, amazing amount of customization, and what's great is that you can add any today plug-in into pocketbreeze as another tab
fantastic (just wish they would work on AKU3.2...oh well)
SBSH for sure.
SBSH is more "customizable" and more "heavier" than SPB. I try both and stopped on SBSH. It looks more beautiful for me.
I like SBSH product for all teh above reasons as well. The ability to make a tab for ANY today plugin sealed the deal also. I also like the availability of custom icons for iLauncher vs. pocket+.
Free trials are a wonderful thing.
The only SPB products I really like are backup and time.
I just wish that iLauncher had a alt+tab function like PocketPlus

Hi how did you do to integrate the GM Retro Clock in the Ultimate Launcher?
I couldn't find the .exe...
Thanks in advance
I started with rltoday, but it is too sloooow. Try Wisbar advanced desktop latest beta. Does just about everything that you can do with rltoday without having to program it ( by using mortscript and adding stuff to the registry). I think it puts all the other today screen customizers to shame.
Nice looking setup you got there! How did you get the date on the first tab? Mine doesn't show it available, or is it a new feat of Retro?
I am guessing you combined tab's to get the GM retro clock and the allrock v4 skin to show up on one screen. But I can't seem to get it work, only one of the plug-in's work they never show up together. How did you get them both to show up on the same screen. Also, there looks like on the same tab, you have a digital clock above the GM Retro clock as well, what is that and how can I add it? Thank you! ^_^
Hello:
S2U2 different temperature SPB Weather.
I have SPB Weather and S2U2, v. 1.05
S2U2 configurations to take the temperature of SPB Weather, however, do not match. Example: Weather in SPB are 26 / 9 and in S2U2 are -2/-12.
Thanks.

Please read, follow, and post your question in the following (sticky thread): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398571
Hello everyone, I'd like to ask you a question. In an attempt to create a new design style (which will not be iPhone-like or any other-like) for xda I would like you to answer me:
What is your finger-friendly combo applications?
For example, my finger-friendly combo is:
PointUI + ContactCM + Spb Time
Of course, it would be great if they are customizable (although I can't think of one that isn't).
Also, any suggestions for an interesting design style would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. xda-developers community is the reason my next PDA will definitely be HTC, so keep up the great work!
My Picks
My Favs are:
- Opera 9.5
- SPB Mobile Shell
- SMS Chat
- Fun Contact
- S2P, S2U2 and yup S2V

Hi!!
I think that if you want some flexibility in customization and also make your design free to use you should use this:
- Today screen: XIAMultitheme, rltoday + UL or why not... ThrottleLauncher
- Player: S2P without any doubts.
- Calendar: Thumbcal
I don't use any other kind of app's but there are a lot there like S2U2 that also can be interesting .
I know this will look like I'm doing some publicity of my app... but remember I'm just another XDA member, why wouldn't I share my opinion...
Hope this helps
iContact definately won over PocketCM. I'm using Throttle Launcher now with a diamond theme, which works pretty well. Obviously S2P for music.

Is opera finger-friendly? I didn't know! Nice!
YEP !! Opera 9.5 is FF...u can scroll the pages just Piscel Browser
My combo:
PointUI 1.51a
S2U2 + S2P + S2V
Iphone dialer (From DxC)
Icontact (Be5) + Diamond theme
ThumbCal
Opera Mini 4.1
TouchPal
Opera mini 4.1 with esmertec jbed is good enough for my web browsing needs. Opera mobile 9.5 just seems to take too much resource that my puny tmobile wing wasn't able to provide.
I also use total commander with large icon for file browsing, but it's not so finger friendly so I still need to use d-pad.
Quick menu is good when used with d-pad and very powerful. It compensates the weakness of pointui IMHO, such as fast task switch, "OK" to close program, handles settings better and easier access to programs menu.
iContact
Opera 9.5
HTC ActionScreen
S2U2
S2P
HTC Cube
HTC Camera Album
ThumbCal
FTouchFlo..if it counts
Mine (slightly biased)
FSD - Mine!
S2U2, S2P and S2V
iContact
ThumbCal
Opera 9.5
Scroll Launcher - Mine again
Some random never to be released apps of my own that have big icons etc.
PointUI is also good, but is a memory hog!
PocketCM 0.24 with the original black skin
Ultimatelauncher becuz its really customizable
TL ofcourse.... one of the best apps i've ever seen
opera 9.5
s2u2,s2v,s2p
touchpal3.5
S2P and S2V
iContact Be5.1 diamond theme
ThumbCal 1.0.4
Netfront 3.5
UltimateLaunch,rlToday,WeatherPanel with diamond theme
and calendar+
HTC Dialer with superflysocal and carlos's diamond theme

How is thumbcal 1.04 compared to 0.51? I found s.l.i hasn't released it yet...
- Today screen: PocketPlus, rlToday, phoneAlarm
- MortButtons
- PocketCM
- PCM keyboard
- ThumbCal
for me
S2U2
UL + Batterystatus
S2P, S2V
PocketCM
ThumbCal
Opera 9.5
SPBPhoneSuite
for me:
UL
S2...all
iContact be5
Thumbcal
Opera Mini 4.1
Resco Exp. 7.03
PocketCM Keyboard 14
For me its a few apps that are not developed on XDA
Winterface 1.01 (Iphone like with unlocker)
Fun Contact 2.15 (The best hands down contact manager)
Sms-Chat 1.1
Eyephoto 1.1
PCMKeyboard Iphone Skin
Manilla Black Dialer V2
S2U2- unlocker turned off, I just like the touch answer keys
S2P- Seriously, is there any better ?
I found the Vito applications to be very low on memory and absolutely brilliant for a touch phone. Just no customization
Edit: after reading the posts I tried out Resco Explorer 2008 and its great! Got the version along with the Registry editor. PERFECT!
I've made a package (originally for the Touch HD) to replace all Windows Mobile application with fingerfriendly ones.
Watch this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xg2XlNNt3vE
You can download it there:

Additional application you might like:
FingerMenu: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=459125
Some applications are included only as VGA versions (like iContact).
iContactBE
ThrottleLauncher or HTC Home(or are we too advanced for that now )
Opera 9.5
S2U2, S2P, S2V
Opal Keyboard
ThumbCal
HTC Dialer
For me:
M2D- convenient, stylish, stable, ability to preview (long) or view (short) SMS + it's rock stable.
Thumbcal- good and real thumbfriendly. (hate the black digits for time setting screen; too hard to se in glare of sunlight)
Icontact BE- Nice and friendly.
