Maximum screen size of a pda - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

I wonder what is the maximum screen size for a pda. Has anyone tried replacing the screen of the pda with a 10" touch screen one. The power consumption of the device can be left ouut first. Just want to know whether the screen would turn out to be of the right size or it will be the size from the original pda screen.

as long as the interface is the same
you could prob connect a 100" screen
of cause that would not change the res

I succesfully replaced my screen in my Tytn but...

Everytime i touch my screen or phone, the brightness goes to maximum (as bright as the camera) when i don't touch it, it goes back to normal. Pretty fancy effect, but i doubt that's good for the battery life. I checked all connectors (including camera on mainboard) and everything seems fine.
Any ideas what could be wrong?
So, the display doesn't go off completely until the phone suspends? If that's the case then you got a transmissive display. I hope your previous display wasn't a transflective one, otherwise your replacement was a downgrade...
The backlight goes off after 20 seconds (its configured like that) and then it doesn't flicker anymore. It only does the flickering (normal backlight => i touch it => maximum brightness => i don't touch it => normal backlight) when the backlight is activated.
The weird thing is, that it also does this when i touch the case and not the screen, this makes me think that it's fixable.
I need some help here: what exactly is the difference between a transmissive and a transflective display?
Problem solved. There was not enough pressure on the back of the upper side of the slider. Put in a little piece of plastic to keep the pressure on the connectors. Now working fine.

Physically change the Touch HD screen to a capacitive screen

I was just thinking if it would be possible to change the whole Touch HD screen to a capacitive screen just like on the iphone or would this be impossible? because you can get your screen changed if there is a crack so why not make it a capacitive screen.
no you can't.
you'll have to provide drivers into the spl and that's kind of impossibile.
apart from drivers, you also need to change the hardware, it's not simply plugging in a screen.

Is the screen really smaller than advertised thanx to the on screen buttons?

They say the screen is 4.7 but also advertise on screen buttons and for some reason the screen just looks smaller than 4.7 inch. The buttons always seem to be there, it's my understand that on screen buttons means that when they aren't needed that they go and that part of the screen that was dedicated to those buttons returns to normal function. I've seen no proof of this however and was wondering if they're just dedicated buttons and it's being called on screen so they can make the screen larger in the spec sheets? Or if the screen is 4.7inch and those buttons are nothing to do with the visible screen size?
Thanx.
The buttons go away during full screen videos, and other apps that use full screen mode (like many games). The screen itself is not smaller than advertised, you're just getting a slightly lower resolution than advertised, when not in full screen mode

[Q] Changing screen resolution

Hey guys.
Cracked the lower part of my screen today so the bottom 2cm are unresponsive. I've managed to change the screen res so that I can use the phone, but it has left black bars at the top and bottom. Is there anyway to "shift" the screen upwards so that I have more useable screen space? Also where is a reliable place to order an OEM screen and digitiser? Thanks
I found some oem touch digitizers for the Nexus 4 (cannot post link, new user) on ebay, usually $50
Not really sure how to shift the resolution though.

Replaced Display (lcd+touch screen) touch resolution issue

I changed the whole screen (lcd+touch). Then I noticed that the screen touch performance is buggy. I couldt type well, it touches twice and writes a word for example "like => liikee" and this makes me crazy!.
Then I changed it again with a better one but this issue stilles. the response of touch screen is like a low resolution. But when i use a simple drwaing app it draws perfect lines even dots close enough. What should I do to solve this?
