Hello all
I have bought a sony ericsson hbh ds970 headset and succefully paired it with my Wizard. Everything just peachy so far, sound is great and it plays the sound from MortPlayer and TCMP without problems. But. (there is always a but...)
When I recivie a call when listning to music the phone automatically paused the music and I can take the call with the sound in my headset. Great. But when i´m finished with the call and want to continue listning to music I get silence.
The headset is still paired, but I dont hear anything. I´ve tried to close and restart mortplayer, but that doesnt help. Also tried the BTaudioToggle app which toggles BT on and off but still nothing. The only solution is to softreset. And thats not an option i the long run...
Another thing I dont see any songs or information on the bluethooth headset display, but maybee thats asking to much. Or? Same with callers, I see the number but not the name of the caller.
Thanks and keep them answers flowing

Which BT hack are you using?
I think it's either the BT hack or the headset. With the BT hack linked from my related article ( http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=1307&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 ) the WMP (haven't tested with other players in this respect) music playing resumes at once and automatically with my 590A on my Wizard.
Thanks for your reply.
Downloaded the a2dp_hack.cab file and the WizardA2dphackimport.reg. Dont know how to run the .reg file in the Wizard so I enterd the values manually. I was running some old a2dp file I found somewhere.
Did a test with mortplayer, which I use, fired up played some music thru the BT headset, pressed call button and started a call. The music stoped and I heard the phone. Hung up and returned to MortPlayer, but there was no music. Could see that the song continued to play but there was no sound. I tried to pause and play agian, but that didnt work. Exited Mortplayer and started it again. That worked, sound in BT stereo headset again.

BTW can I get the phone to ring althou I have the headset connected? now it only rings in the headset.

Does anyone know how in WM5 I can make my Plantronics M2500 bluetooth headset, which shows up in bluetooth xection as "headset" work like an external speaker? In pocket2003 on my h6315 I was able to tell it to have all sound, or just phone sound go to my bluetooth, and I rather enjoyed listening to music while working. But I cannot find even half the options in the bluetooth section as in 2003.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
p.s. loving my MDA.
I found this out by accident. If you are running Microsoft Voice Command, evidently it does not shut down the link to the headset. I have found that if I start playing something (i.e., in Windows Media Player) and then activate Voice Command, and then just let Voice Command time out, the sound will switch to the bluetooth headset.
And Voice Command allows you to control the Media Player, as well!
headset as ear phones
I tried playing my media player then activationg voice command. Sorry didn't work for me. after the voice command timed out, it reverted to the mda speaker. Any thoughts?
There is a utility for this. It comprises 3 programs.
One turns on blutooth as the speaker, one turns it off, and the third toggles it.
I found this somewhere in the forum but can't remember where so I've attached it here.
Copy the programs to your wizard and run them as needed.
do a search for VJVolubilis. That will do what you are looking for also. I stream radio to the headset while at work pretending to be busy!
Using the Voice Command over Bluetooth registry hack I am able to have the BT headset kick in and work with Voice Command perfectly well. I can even change the registry setting to have it run something else, like te Media Player, and hear music over my head set (It's a Jabra XJ10 btw). Problem is, the headset stays connected for only about 15 seconds, before switching off and the TyTN using it's main speaker again. Has anyone figured out how to keep the connection on by any chance?
It shows that playing music over a non BT Stereo headset is possible. But it stops automatically after 15 seconds as voicecommand restarts. I think there is some way to rework this so we can listen to music with the BT headset.

The 15 second thing applies even when te button is made to run media player, or some other software, not just voicecommand. I am hoping there is some registry fix that can be changed to fix this. Either that, or some hardware registry fix that would allow me to change the already-detected handsfree profile of my headset into a BT Stereo profile. If anyone has a BT stereo headset and access to registry settings for it, please post them here so I can try messing with it. Thanks.
I did see a program some where on here that allowed you to click a check box and it put all audio through the BT headset. Search around, I'll see if I can find it again.
As Mort's website seem to be down and I can't find an email address for him, please help. I have installed MortPlayer and got it working nicely with an iTech R35 AVRCP bluetooth clip. I can listen to music and use all the controls on the clip happily. However, when a call comes in, i try to take the call on the clip by pressing the 'action' button, but the call gets routed to the handset earpiece and the phone then crashes. I can continue the call, but I have to soft-reset the phone afterwards, evey time. I have tested this in Windows Media Player 10, and it works as expected (music stops, call is taken on the headset, music resumes upon hanging up). Any help would be greately appreciated. Thanks!
Sadly, I confirm that happens with my rig
I have a TyTN with the 1.35 released HTC ROMs and MortPlayer version 3.31R6 (b51) and Jabra BT620 stereo headset. Like you report, it doesn't happen with Windows Media player. And it doesn't happen if you have bluetooth off.
Searched the Blackstone forums but did not find any post/thread regarding this particular problem .....
I'm a new Blackstone owner (and a newbie on this forum). Love the device but one major issue I have is that ringtones dont come through via the BT headset. I have assigned different ringtones to people and based on the tone of an incoming call, I should be able to screen calls without looking at the phone ..... or so I thought.
My phone : Blackstone (ROM 1.14.405.X). Dec/7 hotfix from HTC installed (since ROM is older than 1.19)
My BT : Jabra BT3030 stereo headset (AVRCP works fine)
Can anyone please help ?
Thanks !!
Try assigning a long ringtone as there is a lag and this may be cutting off the ringtone
Thanks winwiz. Tried that without luck. I only get the default beep-beep in the BT headset warning me of the incoming call ......
Bump !!
Can anyone of you folks help me with this ?
I tried a few tricks - set a looooong ringtone (2 minute song) ...... selected a single ringtone for all contacts ...... but no luck, still get only beep-beep via the BT stereo headset for incoming calls, while the phone itself plays the correct ringtone.
Funny thing though - music comes through fine on the BT (A2DP works fine) and I'm also able to control music without issues (AVRCP also works fine).
Any help/suggestions are welcome !!
Cheers !!

I'm a little out of touch with the very latest gear - BUT - would the headset output the ringtone?? Surely it just has it's own ringtone that is the only one it can play, whenever a call comes in?
It seems to me that to send the .mp3 file over bluetooth to a device that doesn't seem big enough to have a full codec supply would tax the Bluetooth bandwidth somewhat!

A2DP is used for stereo music, not for talking. Maybe its just not possible (with your headset). But I'm quite unexperienced with bluetooth headsets .

Hello Riceburner .... today's Bluetooth headsets do indeed play your phone ringtone. But it should have A2DP feature that allows music to stream in and your phone should also have A2DP to "send" the music to your headset.
The .mp3 file does not get sent to the bluetooth .... the mp3 plays on your phone as a ringtone when you get a call and the A2DP feature then streams it to your BT headset where you then hear the ringtone.
This can have a lag of even a few seconds, hence the suggestion from winwiz a few posts back to use a long playing ringtone.
johnpatcher - A2DP is indeed not for talking, but it is necessary for the ringtone to play in your headset until you answer the call at which time the traditional bluetooth kicks in to handle voice.
Cheers !!
Can anyone help ?
Here is a consolidation of the issue and my attempts to overcome :
My phone : Blackstone (ROM 1.14.405.X). ROM date Oct/24/2008
Any hotfixes : Yes - since ROM is older than 1.19, applied the Dec/7/2008 hotfix from HTC that addresses screen freeze during multi clicks.
My Bluetooth headset : Jabra BT3030 stereo headset (A2DP and AVRCP works fine with the Touch HD phone)
Problem : Phone ringtone does not play through the BT headset. I get only a "beep-beep" on the BT headset for incoming calls, while the phone itself plays the correct ringtone.
Tried the following :
1) set a long ringtone (2 minute long song) as suggested by winwiz. No luck
2) Selected a single ringtone for all contacts. Still no luck
3) Paired the exact same BT headset with another phone (symbian OS) and it works perfectly - A2DP, AVRCP as well as phone ringtone comes through via the headset. Frustrated !!!
Any help/suggestions are welcome !!
Could this be a WinMo issue as opposed to a Blackstone bug ? Found the following thread ........
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=310438
One way to find out ...... can folks spare a few minutes to post their experience in using A2DP heasets with the Blackstone - were you successfully able to hear ringtones via your headset ?
Cheers !!
*Bump*
Can folks oblige by posting their experience using A2DP headsets with the Blackstone ? Were you able to hear ringtones via your headset ?
Thanks !!

I have a BT headset too that can A2DP. (SE DS-980) I don't think its meant for it to transfer ringtones as what one poster mentioned. Anyway, whenever my phone rings, I can hear the tone from my phone and a common single tone from the headset then the contact info is displayed in the LCD so I know who's calling. Another option is if you have MSVC, you can set it to alert you who is calling and only through the BT headset when it connected. That way you'd know who's calling you.

thanks kieboy
guess i'll install MSVC
I use my A2DP headset to listen to music on my embedded helmet speakers while in my bike. And of course, to answer calls too. So, looking to the phones screen isn´t a option and the custom ring tones would be VERY usefull
but, if there's no other work around...

Hello, I have bought a Jabra BT3010. If I used it for a call, it is great. But if I want to use it for listening to the music, I can't. A was tring set it as Wireless stereo, but this funcion is "gray". Is there any way to use it for listening to the music?
PS: I'm sorry, if this problem was discuss somewhere here, but I did not find anything...
I think, I have found what I need. It si BlueTooth Audio v1.0. I have just download it and it works great, but I don't try, what happed if someone call me.
you mean you want to listen to your music playing through your bluetooth right?
I belive what you need is this just install it to your device
Windows
Start Menu
Programs
I can't upload it here
E-mail me if you need it thou.
Ok, I have tried BlueTooth Audio v1.0 and also I made script (with MortScript), that I mapped on left softkey. So allways I want to listen the music, I run Audio Manager and than run the script. That script turn off my screen, run BlueTooth Audio v1.0 and then lock the keyboard, so I can continue listening on Bluetooth handset. If some call me, I can answer like normal, but after the call I have to lunch the script again.
Are anyone know about any similliar program?
Should have gotten the Jabra BT 8040 -- it supports the stereo profile and works great on the Kaiser without additional software (WM6.1 or newer)
