02 GPRS - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

After wiping my phone and doing a clean install (no 02 junk), there are no MMS or GPRS settings. Thats understandable, but even after I add them with the instructions from the 02 web page, it still cant connect to the GPRS network and dont have the option to send an MMS message.
=( any ideas? or do I have to do a clunky old slow standard/corporate install. Damn I hate all that 02 junk.

Have you tried it with the sim card removed?

Did you get your wap setting sorted? It seem to me o2 has now stop the free 200 or so free wap minutes so i am told by a friend. After 3x calls to thier help line which cost a packet, and countless emails to thier department for wap settings, i have now given up on o2 and swop back to vodafone sim card. They are useless...

No MMS, Vodafone UK SIM in Exec

Hi - I've seen some posts that kind of address this topic but nothing yet that can solve the problem I'm experiencing (I think!).
I've set my O2 Exec up with what I'm confident are the Vodafone UK WAP APN and MMS server settings. However, when I send a message it tries for the standard 3 attempts and then gives up, saying the message couldn't be sent and that it would remain in my outbox. However, all 3 of the messages are actually successfully delivered! I am unable to download any 'received' MMS sent to me, although I do receive the notifications.
Has anybody else experienced this and, if so, I'd appreciate any advice in solving it.
The WAP APN I'm using is wap.vodafone.co.uk without the proxy setting enabled (as this is specified in the MMS settings). The MMS server is http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms, gateway is 212.183.137.12 with a port number of 8799. Size is limited to 100K, using WAP 2.0.
Thanks for any assistance.
Vodafone MMS
I've got exactly the same problem. I rang vodafone and told them I had a V1640 and ask them to send me the settings, but she couldn't do it for some reason. She told me to go down to the vodafone shop and ask them to program the settings in manually. I haven't done this because I reckon that I will know more than them about the phone.
My O2 ROM has the settings for 02's connections, therefore, the only thing I can think of doing now is to somehow obtain a copy of the V1640 ROM and install it and hope the settings will be inherant with the installation.
Had a quick look aroung the net without any success.

I'm going from memory a little, but before i upgraded to my Orange SPV M5000, I upgraded my O2 XDAII from PPC2003 (not SE) to a WM2005 ROM, working on a Vodafone PAYT SIM.
I used the attached file to configure all the necessary Vodafone settings (btw, this is UK PAYT)... just copy to your device and run the CAB. I don't recall any problems runnings this, irrespective of any manual settings i'd set.
I also recall having to phone Vodafone to ask them to ensure my GPRS was enabled as this affects MMS sending. Vodafone seemed to be happy to automatically switch it off for me every few months!
Hope this helps

VODAFONE V1640, QTEK ROM, 02 SIM GPRS AND MMS SETTINGS

hi wondering if someone could help save a poor htc universal from being destroyed from severe impact(wall window etc etc). purchased an unlocked v1640 installed latest qtek rom and put in my 02 sim. all was great until i tried to connect to the internet while at work. in my naievity i assumed that was all i needed. after searching for days my eyes are hanging from my head and i have conceeded defeat.
what i need are the gprs and mms settings(uk) for 02 payandgo. contacted a less than helpful 02 rep who told me that these phones are only available on contract therefore i must have gotten it on an off chance. took it to the 02 store who told me the exact same thing.
at my wits end now so if someone could put me out of my misery i would be more than grateful. have searched but all i can find are contract settings which do not work and all those other settings do not work

MMS is it possible on 02 ?

Howdy guys
Right I have this orange SPV M600 which I unlocked and I now have a 02 sim in there.
I have put in what I believe to be 02's MMS settings but it still doesnt work
I aint sure but do I have to create a mms connection and select that from my mms settings ?
Am at a loss guys, I spoke to 02 but they said cos my phone wasnt one of theres they couldnt help me
Does anyone know what I need to do please ?
Cheers
I don't think they can tell you off just because you don't use "their" phone. They have to provide you with all the settings you need - you are paying for this, and paying quite a lot

xperia and 02

hey guys
was wandering if anyone knows how to actually get the internet settings from 02, I have a pay as you go card on the phone and I have been trying for 3 weeks to get the seeting off 02 and aparently they dont suport it. but they already have it on contract and pay as you go offers....
if anyone can help will be very greatful
cheers
Try here ... UK Operators GPRS Settings Information
Or if you've flashed the Touch-It 5.061 ROM, go to Settings>Connections>Connection Setup.
Choose UK, then O2, and tap Done.
