I'm using MvRTrueVGA on my m5000 (SIM unlocked since yesterday) with AKU 3.2 beta 14(Ivan's Version), and it's working fine, as long as I stick with the default windows theme. Any other theme (.tsk) or background image I try and use, regardless of it being a VGA theme, or a standard QVGA one, show the background image small and centered on the today screen, instead of fullscreen.
What am I doing wrong here?
Sorry I don't know the answer. But can I ask you a question, in True VGA mode is the icons at the top on main screen OK. Because mine keeps on flashing with the other 3.2AKU ROM.
Thanks
I take it you mean he icons in the upper menu bar? Volume, Phone Connection, etc? Yes, they're fine now. Before I flashed AKU 3.2, I had the orange AKU 2.0 on there, and when I used TrueVGA, it swapped the volume icon for a connection one (the two little horizontal arrows), but it still worked as a volume button.
But no, now with beta 14, everything seems to work fine, except the background images.
Yes i do, thanks for that. I'll try installing it today. Because with prevous verions of the ROM the icons weren't visible or kept on flashing.

I am having an issue with my G4 HTC wizard in that when I flash a new rom I am left with a multi-colored bar above the Start button running across the top of the lcd screen (a few pixels wide).
On some roms it disappears for instance 6.1 Diamond, but the TNT's it is always there however many times I flash. I have tried both 19213 and 20723 and most of the other roms with still the same issue.
Does any one have a fix or explanation for this as it looks stupid and is irritating on a Black wallpaper?
TIA
Seems like batti or some other battery program. Look in the settings of programs and you should be able to disable it.
I think this is your solution:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416068
It worked for me.
It's done ...
With the help of gordic, wrather, Seelenfresser, BenThon and all the other thread-readers I made an update of my "Black & Red" and after that I was able to convert it completey to "Black & Blue"
"Black & xColor V2.1"
Until now there's only a Basic-Edition of each color version. The original HTC Black Theme has to be installed on your diamond before you are installing one of my themes.
(Didn't try other themes as base but I think it would look a little bit funny *g*)
So far I tested the theme with Mossis ROM 2.1 (Base-ROM: 1.93.x).
Files:
Basic_Black_xxx_V2_x.zip
All files are in one folder inside the zip-file, so they can be copied to the windows-directory off the reel.
Basic_Black_xxx_V2_x_separated.zip
All files are in separated folders inside the zip-file, so you can choose which files you copy to the windows-dir.
Instruction:
Unpack the *.zip-file you want and read the installation.txt.
(If something is wrong or you need some help please let me know!)
Changelog:
V2_1 [17.09.2008]
- two new color-changed images of the camera
- newer *.tsk-files
I'm not so happy with the calendar-icon, but until now I didn't get a better version of it. Maybe someone else could help to make it more similar to the other icons?
#1
(reserved for further update etc.)
the file is too big ?
try with rapidshare.com
[good work!]
[thanks!]
That's strange because the file isn't bigger than 8MB (that should be the maximum file size of zip-files).
But now I've uploaded it with rapidshare
Very nice work!
Will download....
Does this also change the today screen and other non TouchFlo elements like buttons, captions etc. (globally of course)?

I think it does because I changed also many graphics that have nothing to do with TF3D, for example the Screen if you connect your diamond with USB etc.
And there is also the vodafone.tsk, which makes the "menu marker" red for example.
@NisseDILLIGAF
Thank you!
nice job thanx
Thanks for the theme.
You were faster than me in changing everything green into red. One thing I could not find in your basic zip file was a red highlighted internet globe.
Thanks to the help of NisseDILLIGAF who pointed me in the right direction I was able to change it. Now the theme is perfect!
Win refuses to overwrite the manila-files. Could somebody make from this a real theme-file. The red is amazing color with black.
Theme File
just installed, the red & black looks so cool!
GREAT WORK...thank you
really fine themes, one of the best i tried today
but a few questions:
i made a roll back to my standard theme (with TF3D config 0.6.7) but now i have some graphic problems, e.g. TF-volume is still red instead of original green, also the buttons for choosing between ActiveSync- and external drive-mode if connected to PC. And the (green) button beside the active keyboard, if i want to change half to full or phone etc., is fully lost
Are there any options to get the old status back without a hardreset?
thank you for your answer
ok, ive tried this, but im not satisfied, altough i would love to have a black red theme.
What would make this theme perfect for me is, that it should be exactly as the original touchflo, htc black theme, only where default theme has green colour, it should have red colour, that would be perfect theme for me.
also, i restored default theme, and still i have in volume control red coloured bars, which i can't restore to defaults, which is not ok.
i tried to delete manila files with resco explorer, but says i cant delete files, because they are in the memory. Any suggestion how to do this ?
thank you

Ok, solved it by myself. There is a little bug in TF3D Config-Tool, which forgot to delete three files after choosing a Theme-Restore:
- HTCUSBtoPCPopUp.png
- SIPMenu_SelectIcon.bmp
- HTCVolumeControl.png
After deleting these file and automatic replacement of the original TF-Files by WM (soft-reset!) everything looks ok again
THANKS ! i am happy again
dunno where i saw it, but is there a possibility, to change background on all menus ?
Great theme! Love balck&red
Only issue I have is cannot see the writings in the manilla settings/sound properties, it's only me? something wrong?
Thanks
Black font on black background, got this Prob, too.
If you highlight it with the red "Cursor" you can read it...
Choosing new programs has this small prob also

Very nice job Elvelynn..
maybe we could work together to make others colors ?
After upgrading my TP2 to the latest Vodafone rom which includes WM6.5 first thing I wanted to do is change the damn voda theme, previously I used MAX TTM to change my slider and task bar icons, but it crashed everytime I load it, is it not compatable with WM6.5 ? is there an alternative, I read somewhere that with WM6.5 you could make the top and bottom taskbar area's opaque or see through is this true ?? if so how...
ooops.
.netframework, that'll be the problem then.
still can't get transparent taskbars though or any colour for that matter. only vodafone black
I'm probably preaching to the noobs here since most of you seasoned veterans should already know all this. I just thought I would contribute something by consolidating a couple of easy tricks.
Sure, there are numerous themes out there. But these days, there's so many versions of Manila that it can get frustrating to find which theme works for your ROM. So, here's a couple of tips to personalize your device regardless of Manila version.
1. Make your taskbar more interesting and useful
There's really no reason to stick with the default WinMo taskbar. It's bland, boring, and you can only see battery level in 4 increments. There are numerous custom taskbars out there but I find this one the most eye-pleasing to me. Brian's Taskbar
2. Make your wallpaper visible on all tabs of Sense. And don't let landscape orientation mess up the image.
If you use Manila/TouchFlo3D/Sense, don't bother setting your wallpaper via the Settings tab. Your wallpaper will look alright on your Home tab in portrait mode. But you won't be able to see your wallpaper in your other tabs. And if you switch to landscape orientation, your wallpaper will look horrible. This tool solves all these problems. You can also use a completely different wallpaper for landscape if you choose to. HDWall
(The program is easy to figure out. Take the time and patience to do so. It is worth it.)
3. Keep your Today background beautiful in both landscape and portrait orientation
Those of you who use the default Today screen (instead of Sense, Mobile Shell, etc) will know that you set your wallpaper by doing one of the following:
Option A:
-go to "Today" settings
-toggle on "Use this picture as the background"
-tap "Browse" and then select the image file.
-tap "OK"
Option B:
-open the "Pictures & Videos" application
-Browse to the image file and open it
-Tap "Menu"
-Tap "Set as Today Background..."
-Move the selection area according to your own preference.
-Keep transparency level at 0% (This is an odd setting. I can't fathom a reason for not setting it at 0%)
-Tap "OK"
Rather than using a 480 by 800 image. Try using an image that is 1333 by 800 (width by height).
For WinMo 6.5 users who use HTC Sense, this tip still applies to you. This affects the lockscreen image and the background image of the Start Menu.
Awesome! Thanks! Yes there are noobs out there (...me). I definitely appreciate this. Can't wait to try it out!
Thanks, I am a noob and am trying to decipher all these options. Maybe there can be just series of Noob Stickies...?
And I thought I would find out about lipstick and thong undies here...
I just use an 800x800 image... works just the same.

You're absolutely right. If you use an 800x800 image, the wallpaper displayed will not be scaled down and will be shown in full resolution.
However, here's the reason why I suggested using a 1333x800 image:
See the first attachment named 800x800jpg.
The blue represents the part of the wallpaper visible to you in portrait mode.
The red represents the part of the wallpaper visible in landscape mode. (Of course, imagine that the red extends behind the parts covered by blue in the middle.)
But as you can see, there's some chunks of white areas. Those parts of the image will never be displayed.
If you use a 1333x800 image, every pixel will be displayed in landscape mode. See 2nd attachment named 1333x800.jpg.
800x800 vs 1333x800
I agree entirely with the post above (very useful illustrations).
The only thing I would point out is that the 800x800 wallpaper misses out the corners of the picture in both orientations, whereas the larger wallpaper misses nothing out in one, but huge amounts in the other.
So I think it all depends on the composition of the picture really - if most of the picture is interesting then go for 800x800, if the best bits are in the centre third then go for the larger dimensions.
Of course it also depends on which orientation you spend most time using your phone in...
Just what i was looking for since Energy changed taskbar icons.
Brian's Taskbar looks awsome on the phone and ALSO seemed to make many other icons look more stylish such as storage card and folder icons. Im sure i will run into more stuff from this. Thanks
I have to say thanks for this post. I was unaware of another stable taskbar aside from Tsowen's work and Brian's definitely rocks.
Great post. I'm not exactly a noob, but I haven't spent any quality time with my phone for the last couple of months. I was waiting until some of the bugs got worked out on the programs I was hoping to use. And besides, hubby just got a Verizon Palm Pre so it renewed my interest in making my phone that much better than his.
Your directions were so complete and easy to use. My phone looks great now. That 3rd step was one I hadn't thought of. Last night I installed Brian's taskbar and HDwalls. The wallpaper looked wonderful. I thought I was stuck with the default background for the start menu until I got up this morning and tried your step 3. Now I'm a very happy camper. Thanks for the effort you took in writing this post.
Maybe a bit of a silly question, but I love those tomatoes on the lock screen. Is there any possibility that you could post that picture here?
Thanks in advance
Thanks! was looking to change the default taskbar, but didn't know how.. now i do
BTW: also like the tomatos!

would be helpful if you mentioned what ROM you're using and what taskbar is causing you difficulties....
WM 6.5
Rom 1.86.415.2 (67102)
and i tried both brain's taskbar and spike's
few min ago i used another Brain taske bar
(New_F_ Brians WM6.5 Taskbar gfreek edition V5a.cab)
it works without a bug in the signal icon , but i'm not lovin the icons really niko's were much pleasant for me, especially the start icon its not the htc logo
also i have another question my friend, which i chose to show clock on taskbar , it used to show it in any running program but not in the Home screan and it's taps , which is logic
since i update the Rom and the clock in the task bar shows in the Home screan and make the battery disappears !!!!!
even when i installed this brain taskbar also the clock removes the battery icon from the home screan
Is there any way to get these back?..i remember before on my europe leo the sense tab bacgrounds in music and settings the color was black/greyish..now on the tmobile 2.13 rom its solid black...is there anyway to get the grey color back? this is a picture of the color im talking about

Download HDWalls (HDWall_v0.28b) seems to be the most stable http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=503511
1. Open it up on your PC, and run HDWALLS.EXE.
2. Click on slider on the side task bar. Right there are the original icon for the slide. select then create cab.
3 Now under options check the box to include slider bar
done... convert and create cab, and install. if you get confused, just followed hdwalls instructions. im sure there are people with links to cabs the way you may want it setup. my hd2 is pimped out thanks to HDWALLS. make sure to install hq patch.

I think what you're looking for there is the background itself, not the slider itself or the curtain behind it.
I believe the image below is the one you're looking for. I went ahead and cabbed it up in HDWalls using some settings that should work on the new stock tmo ROM. If you use this cab to make that image your background (it'll apply it to all tab backgrounds), you'll also need to install the HQ patch I've attached as well.
Let us know if this worked for what you needed

omg this worked perfectttt.. thank you so much..now it looks just like it used to on my old leo.. thanks.. ireally hated the stale solid black..
but theres one problem... now i can no longer change my weather background..ie its the same as the gradient background..like it wont apply any of the other "Stock" wallpapers in the folder..its always the black gradient no matter what... is there any way to fix this?.. ie on my home tab i could have any sense wallpaper but on all other tabs.. the normal gradient..
EDIT* okay i looked into it..seems like i have to use some app now to change my wallpaper..the stock picker will no longer work.... thanks..

Ahh yes sorry, I didn't catch that you wanted that image on all tabs other than your home tab, with a separate image instead for that. I'm honestly not familiar with any of the wallpaper choosers that might be out there. However, you might want to take a look at BG4A (BG4All tabs)...I seem to recall that it will put backgrounds on the tabs but still let you pick a separate one for your homescreen, but I haven't used it in a long time and could be mistaken
i hae the same problem and its the biggest reason i hat the newest rom upgrade

Well you guys should all be running CHT on your devices anyways..that has an option to set an image for your tabs...in bothe 1.8.5 and 2.0...just download CHT and it will take care of that completely!
After updating my original German T-Mobile ROM from 1.72.111.4 to 3.14.111.1 (04666) GER with Manila 2.5.20181527.1, I get the same solid black background on all Sense tabs. This thread was the only search result that describes the problem.
HDWall v0.29b was not my first solution. Because I only want back my gray backgrounds.
Therefore, I installed the HQWallpaperPatch v1.30.
This was a successful attempt. All my gray backgrounds were there again. But now it was not possible to me to change the wallpaper of the home tab any more.
And the newly transparent look of the notification bar and soft bar is very ugly while working with normal applications.
Then, nevertheless after uninstalling the HQWallpaperPatch, I have tried out HDWall. But the resulting CABs were not compatible with my ROM. The wallpapers have not changed and the Sense UI became unstable. Only a hard reset/cold boot could solve the problems with Sense.
CHT is the acronym from "Co0kie's Home Tab". I do not need all that features. Hence, I have investigated to BG4all (Background for all tabs).
BG4all only replaces two files in the \Windows folder. 090a4ee8_manila includes a compressed script. I am not sure, why 3a8e04af_manila also must be replaced.
But there are many versions of this patch in the wild. I used m9editor to compare all shipped files with my original ones.
And I found a compatible version. This BG4all_Manila2.5.cab works without problems along with my ROM version.
