getting rid of spam email? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Does anyone know of a good email spam filter before I have to change my current address (which I desperately don't want to do)
The only one I can find is by pocketpcsoft.com which doesn't really work correctly and doesn't even support landscape mode because it's so old.
Junk email now out numbers my proper mail by at least 15-1 and it's getting worse, I've had over 28 spam mails within 24 hours

Push email setup..

Hi
I want to set my THD with Push email rather than the usual send/receive.
But I have a personal email domain hosted by 1&1.com, and when I go to my admin, I can either purchase a Microsoft Exchange license or a 1&1 MailXchange, and both seem to be major collaboration tools for teams of people. I only want for Push for me using my current @arjayweb.net domain. Are there any cheaper options?
My main reason for wanting Push is that I can I currently send/receive every 15 mins, but I've found too many times that emails haven't come through. Sometimes I can watch the 'connecting..' status line and see it go to 'Looking for changes' and then disconnect, but if I manually hit send/receive again, emails come through. If I can solve this, no need for Push..
Any ideas?

i've been using 1&1's Exchange Mail for over a year and am very satisfied with the service. i'm using the Exchange service to push my MSN email, it also allows me to use my MSN account as an alias (e.g., sending/receiving using a different email address). although i haven't searched in great detail, i haven't found a hosted Exchange service that provides the features i want (aliased emails, notes, calendar & task synching), 1 GB of space, push mail, ActiveSync, webmail, etc.
Thanks Cortez - couple of questions though:
- I only want my email to be pushed. Don't need synchronising of any other bits. Did you ever find a service that does just that?
- why do you need Activesynch if you have push?
JonPickles70 - one for you too:
-Not sure if you actually have your send/receive set to every 5 mins, but do you find it always manages to connect and download new mails each time it attempts? Like I said before, I have a problem that my phone attempts to connect every 15 mins, but doesn't list any new messages, but when I manually kick-off, new emails come through. Do you (anyone else?) have this problem
Thanks
yes arjay my email which is blueyonder is set for 5 mins and whenever i get an email(i know cause on pc alot 2) it comes straight through within 5 mins at the longest.i also have hotmail which comes through straight away.im on o2 in england with an orange hd which i set up myself with settings i found on webpages after strenious searching http://www.knowyourmobile.com/info/...up_email_and_the_internet_on_your_mobile.html was one site that mite b helpful if ur on one of those networks with those email providers

really struggling with activesynch problems

I am having real problems with my push gmail account.
I suspect I may have part of the answer but not all.
I am finding that sometimes emails are just not coming through as new emails.
In some cases when I send/receive or so an activesync it will even "see" that there are 1-3 email (ie it counts 0/3 etc) but will not bring them to the inbox.
I think that one way it gets confused is if, say, I have had a new email which it decided not to d/l and then I read it on the computer but I then get more emails from the same person replying about the same topic
Even if I get other new emails it just will not d/l any new ones until I have deleted the semi-unread/semi-new ones from the inbox - as you can imagine this would be a real issue if they are ones I need to keep!
Another possible culprit I wondered was if the account was signed into at the time by Gmail Mansger in FireFox.
I tried sending one having disconnected GMM and it sent through a new one [admittedly I had deleted the prior non-fetched test ones by this stage.
It is driving me batty.
Anyone able to shed any light please?
I have played a fair bit.
If there is an email in my gmail account newer than on my phone but that I have read online that seems to screw up the downloading. It seems to see how many there are are I don't know where it puts them.
If I delete all these and then try to send one sometimes it works fine, other times I have to manually sync to get one and I can't find a pattern at all

how do i delete multiple emails in the default email client?

hey guys
i know this might sound a beginners quesiton sorry about that but i cracked my head long enough trying to fix this problem.
so i am using default email client the one that comes with the galaxy s out of the box. i am using pop3 account downloading from my company servers, but now i have 1000+ emails
i want to delete them , how do i do that?
i had a windows mobile phone (touch pro) and it was very simple: CTRL+A - select all and then delete. but here? i have no keyboard, nothing.
please tell me how to delete all emails at once...
cmon guys? no one knows this?
I was actually wondering about it as well.. it looks there isn't a way to do it 0_o
There is a checkbox next to every email. Afraid the only way to do this is to check all the mails you want to delete.
obviously i was looking for a faster way. as i said i have more than 1000 emails, i think i have better ways to spend a whole day than deleting emails )

[Q] WANTED: eMail Rules/filters for poutlook

Hey all.
I have tried Flexmail and found it wanting - I think mine had issues, activesync failed to sync to directory and the rules were quite limited. Still waiting for their support teams to sort out several issues with move and stuff. even if they can get it working I can't see it being good enough in it's control.
So we are back to poutlook and it's limited functionality.
Are there any decent programs out there for message filtering. I get 300+ emails per day and over 150 are total rubbish 50 are newsletters and notifications which I file.
and half a dozen orders buried in this lot that I NEED to deal with immediately.
any suggestion please
Cheers
G
Well - I don't know if this will work for you, but I have all my email come through my Yahoo account. On the server side, I have about 60 rules/filters set up. This way, on my inbox on my phone, I already get them filtered. I have been using Yahoo for years and now-a-days I get a spam email in my inbox about twice a year. If you have not set up a web based account yet, I would actually suggest gmail for the push capabilities. But I don't know how their filters or spam protection work.
Just as an aside, I used to use FlexMail and most of the time when I could not get something working, it was my fault. It is a very powerful application. I finally decided it was too powerful for my needs on my cell and switched to ProfiMail. You might want to check out their rules/filters. I don't use the filters on the phone, so I can't help you there, but it is a pleasure to use.

[Q] New Droid 2 Owner - AOL

I just got my Droid 2 and am having trouble with aol. Perhaps someone out there more experienced in the ways of the D2 and AOL can help:
AOL is the primary email, and I am set up properly (in that I can successfully send email, and receive email). However, I am not seeing the most recent 10-25-100 (whatever its set for) emails; just a smattering across the emails I have. In other words, what I see on aol.com and what I see on the D2 are 2 very different sets of email. I am set up as IMAP.
Thanks!

Not trying to be mean, but I don't know many people that still use AOL. It will probably take a while for someone to answer who has this combination of phone and email. I hope you get answer though, but you can't be the only one.
...
Ironically, I thought I had finally gotten an answer, but, unfortunately (as you know), the post was not an actual answer. <sigh>. I do appreciate your hope that someone actually does answer though.
In the interim, I have moved my wife to K-9 which does handle it better. Would have rather stayed with stock though.
I just tested mine to see. I just get spam from AOL, so I do not want it on my phone.
1.drawer
2. open My Accounts
3. Hit "Add account" on bottom
4. Hit red @ email icon
5. entered address
6. entered password
7. left "automatically configure account" checked
8. hit "next"
It did its thing and I got 25 messages downloaded to the phone in notification bar
I went to AOL on computer and it is the exact same in my in box.
Hope this helps.
Chris - Thank you so very much for looking into the matter, it is greatly appreciated!
After a lot of prior testing, I settled on K-9. My wife keeps her maximum 775 messages on AOL (yes, there is a lot wrong with that sentence) and the stock email program was giving her a more or less random selection of the messages. Sure she got 25 as well (or 50 or 100 depending on setting) but it wasn't the most recent 25 nor was it consistent. I suspect stock was skipping "read" messages. Regardless, K-9 does properly handle AOL.
Thank you again!
