Hi
Newb here!
I've not been able to get my player to work.
I Get continual 'connection' attempts or it just goes to continual pause....
I have Cingular as server.
The closest I get to feedback I get is that my proxy servers might not be correct.
I had a 'knowlegeble' person help me with my settings.
My proxy server says
wireless.cingular.com
Advanced
HTTP wireless.cingular.com 80
WAP wireless.cingular.com 80
Everything is set to connect to 'my work network'
Specific server address
DNS 4223
altDNS 4225
User name
[email protected]
PW
CINGULAR1
APN
wap.cingular
All is very fast with these settings
Wondering if they might be prohibitive to accessing WMP though.
If not....anything else I should be checking?
Thanks so much!

hello i have just got a xda 2 it was locked on on all networks except o2.
since then i managed to unlock the phone to all networks but.....
i need the settings for t-mobile so that i can use wap and the internet.
can somone please tell me the gprs and wap settings for this. Also i am on payasyougo. please help i am new to this!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Im not sure if T-Mobile's Pay as you go is the same as the one in the states, but if so you cant get on the net with an XDA if it is, unless you switch your pay as you go over to a Sidekick 2 pay as you go plan which will take a daily fee from your balance but you get unlimited access that way, the american fee for this is $1.00 not sure what that is in your curency but i expect that it would be diffrent any way.
but here are the settings i use here in the states
set 3 new GPRS connections and for the accesee name put in these
wap.voicestream.com
internet2.voicestream.com
internet3.voicestream.com
probally it will be tmobile.com instead of voicestream T Mobile bought out voicestream here in the states and they never renaimed ther accsess methods.
if that helps great if not sorry

After weeks of searching different forums and conflicting info, these are the settings that finally worked for me. Mind you I use the $4.99/month T-Zones plan but can acess regular http pages just fine now...

And for those who require AIM: download it from the Brazilian site. Its free and the messenger itself is all english. Be warned- using other than the AIM built-in to T-Zones will minus from you message plan as if they were regular text messages. This is Per Message- not session. Also- this is my working setting for AIM...

Hope this works for others....
thanks very much settings work great on my HTC Universal WM6
These are for TMobile USA.
I have these for TMobile Usa. Enjoy and good luck. I did notice that mms will not always work for these. A network configuration may need to be ran. I also added a text file that will teach you how to increase the mms size.
I guess you guys haven't heard about tmo's new apn there rolling out: epc.tmobile.com enter that in your phone's apn address and you wont need a proxy even with the 5.99 plan
Thanks for all your post, I have the same problem and now it has been sorted!
Levelup what did you do?
can anyone find t-mobile uk internet settings for htc touch hd? Because Im thinking to buy one and it might be locked on orange.
how do i download the aim by text message?

For some reason my Cingular 8125 isn't able to send MMS but I am able to receive. I've been on the phone with cingular for like 4hours and they weren't able to solve it. And of course they can't replace cause the phone is 2 months out of warranty.haha I've gone through all of cingular and the settings are exactly what they are suppose to be.
My MMS settings,
Server Name: Cingular MMS
Gateway: wireless.cingular.com (I've also tried 66.209.11.61)
Port Number: 80 (also tried 1080 and 9201)
Server address: httpp://mmsc.cingular.com
Connect via: MEdia Net
Sending Size: 300K
WAP Version: WAP 2.0
Media net connection setting,
I got CSD Cingular that dials 14152441012
And then I got Cingular GPRS:
Cellular Line (GPRS)
Access Point: wap.cingular
Username: [email protected]
PASSWORD: CINGULAR1
advanced I have "Use server-assigned IP Address"
checked also is "Use IP header Compression"
Proxy settings: wireless.cingular.com and both boxes are checked
It's exactly what Cingular tells me. I've heard that it could be the phone. But I know it's not, it's gotta be a setting that is missing. It just stopped about 2 months ago, like exactly when my warranty ran out.lol and they want me to pay $200 for them send me a new phone. to hell with that. For the same phone! Has anyone had this problem? PLEASE HELP!
Ok I finally got it to work.

Can anyone please share their knowledge or experience on how I can get my unlocked 6.1 shadow to make the mms work for at&t. I tried all kind of stuff from this forum and elsewhere and I still cannot get it to work.

Do you have these settings set as follows?:
Server name: AT&T MMS
Gateway: wireless.cingular.com
Port number: 80
Server address: http://mmsc.cingular.com/
Connect via: MEdia Net
Then, check your MEdia Net settings:
Connects From: The Internet
Connects To: WAP network
Proxy: wireless.cingular.com:80
Type: HTTP
Username: <leave blank>
Password: <leave blank>
see this AT&T forums thread
Hope this helps.
.nevermind.
mms fix
Please post to links for users to try thanks.
For those who can't receive at&t mms:
I used the PR MMS MediaNet settings tool available on XDA
Go to Settings>Connections>Connections
Delete all data connections before running the tool
Use the device Network Setup Tool to make your primary connection.
Run the PR MediaNet MMS tool to set the size limites
After setting up the connection create a new connection in com manager
Use Work Connection
Use these settings
Connection Cellular GRPS 3G
Name I used MediaNet No Proxy
APN wap.cingular
Username [email protected]
Passwork CINGULAR1
Do not use the proxy settings for this
Have all internet applications go to this connection do that in your com manager
Go into your mms options in messaging click servers click at&t mms make sure MediaNet is still the connection for send/receive mms
now it will send receive mms using the at&t proxy and the internet for other apps without the proxy
I searched the forums, but couldn't find this precise question asked, so here goes nothing...
Alright, I'm currently using an HTC Wizard 200 with the 2.26 rom, which a friend fixed up for me since he upgraded to a Samsung.
AT&T is my service provider, and as such, the phone had no issue with texting, or making/receiving calls. Only hang up I had was that it was using the T-Mobile servers for MMS messaging, so nothing would send/download, that way.
After an hour or so of working on it last night, I made it work. My current settings under "Connections" are...
Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should use:
MEdia Net-
Name: Cingular GPRS
Cellular Line (GPRS)
Access Point: wap.cingular
User Name: wap.cingulargprs.com
Password: CINGULAR1
Domain: *left blank*
Under "Advanced" tab:
Use IP Header compression: Checked
Under "Messaging->Options->MMS->Servers",
MMS Configuration
Cingular MMS
Server Name: Cingular MMS
Gateway: wireless.cingular.com
Port Number: 80
Server Address: http://mmsc.cingular.com
Connect via: MEdia Net
Sending Size Limit: 300k
WAP Version: 2.0
Now, this works flawlessly for receiving/sending MMS. My phone is fully operational, and I'm digging it. But the one thing that's bothering me is that I can connect to Internet Explorer with these settings. And I don't want to be able to, even on accident. I unchecked "This network connects to the Internet" under Proxy Settings, and it failed to connect to the GPRS once, but if I accidentally select Internet Explorer, it can still connect if the WLAN is off. If WLAN is on, it will default to using the internet connection.
Is there any way that I can keep my MMS capability, but disable these settings from allowing me to accidentally access internet browsing?
Like I said, I gave it a search, and couldn't find anything related to what I'm trying to manage. So any help? This is my first time working with any sort of phone, so I'm surprised I even got this far without help.
Much appreciated, ahead of time.
This should be
MEdia Net-
Name: MEdia Net
Cellular Line (GPRS)
Access Point: wap.cingular
User Name: [email protected]
Password: CINGULAR1
Domain: *left blank*
You also have to set up your proxy settings
http://www.wireless.att.com/support/deviceConfig.do?content=KB71396.html
Then;
ISP
Name: ISP
Cellular Line (GPRS)
Access Point: wap.cingular
User Name: [email protected]
Password: CINGULAR1
Domain: *left blank*
Check out this post.

I followed both those guides, and I actually had everything setup the exact same, aside from the "MEdia Net" name being "Cingular GPRS". It actually works fine both ways.
Sadly, I still don't understand how to block it from web-browsing. It's not doing it automatically, or anything. I'd just like to disable the capability, without disabling MMS, for safety purposes.
Then just set it to My Work Network as it is blank and when you use MMS, it will pick up MEdia net automatically.
I'm under the impression that deleting MediaNet completely is the way to go.

Why bother asking for help
