Disable protocol HSDPA - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I think that activating the protocol with "fit4cat" it give me problems with my isp internet connection because HSDPA is'nt supported from H3g ITA. There is a way to disable it without fit4cat to try if it solve my problem ? Thanks

You have, of course, read the complete Hermes wiki including http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Utils haven't you ?

Always on line for xda 1??

Any body knows for xda 1, you can keep checking new mail arrival through GPRS?
I heard people using xda 2 can do that. But is there any chance xda 1 can do the same thing?
Actually, when u do the setting for POP account, it ask u to set how many minutes to check for new messages. But it never work because the GPRS will close automatically.
Thanks very much. :?
Sure it can be done!
Take a look at:
http://www.o2.co.uk/productsservices/xda/romupgrade/0,,170,00.html
BTW the above is one of many!
also where are you located?
HTH
I am using the most updated PPC2002 version already. (3.20.06 ROM and 4.21 Radio)
Do u mean I have to upgrade to PPC2003?
I doubt that because they are not very stable for me to use in Hong Kong so far from other guy's comments in this website.
Thanks very much.

Since you're already running the latest upgrade its suppose to work but since it doesn't I would have to say that your always-on settings are at fault. So go to Start, Settings, Connections and make sure that its set to not disconnect.
HTH
Are you sure that it is also for xda1 ?
I can't locate that "not disconnect" setting.
Please clarify.
Thanks so much.

It should say some thing like this:
GPRS connection to remain active once the device enters power save mode.
At least it does on the PPC 2002 latest AT&T ROM and the XDA developers Special Edition ROM v1.2. (which is bases on the O2 3.17.03 ROM).
HTH
That's really strange for my O2 xda!
I only found a setting called GPRS Suspend Mode setting.
It said,
When you are in power-saving mode, do you want to:
- Keep GPRS connection
- End GPRS connection
I clicked on the first one.
Then I close it, and connect to GPRS.
Just for a while, the connection ends by itself.
Any thought?
Thanks a lot again.
Yeap thats the correct setting and the same one I'm speaking of!
I read a lot of bad reports about the 4.21 radio stack so it might be at fault.
Maybe you should think about upgrading to the Qtec radio stack, heard nothing but good reports on that one.
The Qtek 1010 Radio Stack Upgrade can be found at:
http://www.carrierdevices.com.au/downloads.php?region=Asia Pacific
Download Radio Upgrade File : RSUv1.15_(GPRS_T32500_ENG).exe
BTW read the WARNING.
BTW do you have a URL for that newer o2 ROM, I'd like to install it and see if it does the same for me/
HTH
Here it is.
http://www.myxda.com/web/template/SoftwareUpgradeIntroduction.vm
BTW, I am a bit nervous to install the radio file cause I have bad experience that almost kill my phone.
Is it really okay just to install the radio file?

Like I said I've heard nothing but good reports on upgrading to this radio
stack (no failed upgrades have been reported but as with any upgrade there is always a possibility).
BTW thanks for the link!

Have u tried to update that ROM?
Is there the same problem?

Unable to download, it kept asking for a IMEI.
You wouldn't happen to have the direct download link would you?
Oh! I didn't realize that...sorry.
I am still a bit nervous for upgrading (or is it actually downgrading) to the i-mat ROM.
If it is downgrading, I will definitely not try that...
Hi Qman,
I just notice that Yorch.net got the 3.20.06 ROM.
Also they have the 4.00.21 ROM (pre-release T-Mobile version). Is it for the US market only?
Chris
hi; Are you sure that Yorch.net got the 3.20.06 ROM??? Can't find it. I have downgraded my XDA yesterday from the kitchen wm2003 because of bugs to kitchen 2002 but it says 3.17.03 and not the one you mention???!!!
Hey,
That's not from the "kitchen". It's from the "upgrade" just under "kitchen". Check it out again and you will find it.
Anybody knows that 4.00.21 is good for o2 xda?
Chris
hmmm, currently I am using it
so far so good but there is one major BUT for me - most possibly that version makes wipe out my 256MB SD card every up to 48 hours
for me it is a major .... item
regards,
monika
That's terrible. What about the GPRS and phone reception?
To be honest, I won't use it if it will wipe off the sd contents every 2 days.
Have you tried to burn again?
so far GPRS is not working ....
but that is due local GSM provider that has some complicates setup as to make GPRS to work, phone recption is ok ... I am living in area where virtually all GSM phones had reception problems (i.e. majority of nokia phones), although in a city center it is perfect ....
just for you to know ... I have received a link from one of the group members for the most recent update - look there for details :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=4556&highlight=4+01+00
regards, monika
Thanks very much for your reply.
But I think that Upgrade exe file is for US only cause that include the radio upgrade as well.
So, are you able to downgrade your 4.00.21 easily?
I am not sure whether its worth to downgrade your device to 3.20.06 to see whether its a real problem with SD card. And to upgrade it to 4.00.21 again to verify it. It may happen only at some occasion as you know electronic device can never guarrentee functioning 100%.
Hope you can fix your device.
Cheers

Millions thanks for both of you.
hello,
thanks for the link, it works indeed.
i only have a question,
if i upgraded with the t-mobile 4.00.21 version, does it also upgrade the radio stack? does it affect my band selection?
i used the exe file.

As much as i know, it's normal, that the device shows as B1 modell....
Which Radiostack are you using?
4.21.00. could be?
Not a good idea to use .exe method to upgrade, use the SD card method instead. You may need to manually change the radio to the local band by going into the bootloader and changing it to whatever it's not on now. One of the upgrades I did stopped the phone component totally and brought everything else to a standstill, but it was ten second fix.
Thanks for the new kitchen, it gives another option where there were few.
thanks, i just changed in the bootloader into GSM 900/1800. now it works, i just hope it doesn't only use the 900 and 1900(which i have no use in Europe). because in my device info it says B1 model. Maybe it's just because of the t-mobile upgrade, but doesn't REALLY change it.
let's hope.
thanks anyway.

No, it's all sweet now. I think the configuration in the O/S changes the device configuration, so the bootloader option and the O/S option both mirror one another. As long as it works you're fine.
Great Work! Well done!
some thing on the ger image is wrong. I have after ubgrading no usb, no com1, no gsm, no light. and the sd card is unnone card ........ !!!!

Radio problem

Hello, my hermes has frequent disconnection ( 3G to edge - edge 3G - etc.. ) from mobile network and i cannot to receive/send call . Even when the signal seems good my phone cannot receive call. At times, when i receive a call i cannot to answer.
I have upgraded to official ROM: 2.11.258.1 ITA but the problem remain.
I have upgraded to various WM6 ( LVSW, BlackMajik, 3DES ) but the problem remain. My SN begin HT628F.... I dont' know if it is hardware or software problem.
Thanks
Giuseppe
Ciao Giuseppe...
First and foremost, upgrading to various WM6 ROMs will not help you.
Try and upgrade your radio instead. Look into the wikis for the various radios to try.
But before you do all that, I hope your device is HardSPL.
Buona fortuna =)
Dear Leo, thanks. I have upgraded any radio firmware placed in wiki but the problem remain In this moment for example signal is strenght in edge but cannot receive call . My actual ROM is 3.29.707.4 - Radio 1.27.00.00
thanks
giuseppe
Have you tried switching off WCDMA and forcing the phone to GSM only. It may be a set-up problem with the higher speed network.
Start\Settings\Phone\Band
Then select from the dropdown menus:
GSM
and/or
select the relevant bandwidth.
Thanks ach2 ! Yes i have tried this . But another problem is that i cannot to interact with setting option on the phone ! Other menu are ok , but when i select any object related to the phone there is not reply or it has very very slow or freeze
Thanks

Do you have the official ITA rom on your phone now? and also did you have the same problem when you used other roms? The only thing I can think is that maybe the ITA rom disables some functions. Maybe you can try another rom, or hard reset then soft reset before the customisations start to see if you get the functions back.
I'm guessing you want the ITA rom for the language - I can't help here unless you get in touch with schaps to help him translate his great rom into italian http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=312604
radio problem
hi all

at other times, i can't send when a message is incoming, and vice versa. i'm currently using Black Majik and my radio is 1.43

I think that's a ROM related issue... Try a different ROM and see if that still happens.
Ok thank you for your help. Which Rom should iI take which one do you advise?
I'd personally recommend Cloudyfas latest ROM (Build 19213). But, you may want a ROM with the Cube etc. that that ROM doesn't have.
It's ok thx you but Shadow 2.0 TE hasn't got the cube, too....

Depends on the ROM. Some are fine, others have problems.
I had exactly the same problem. Sending via bluetooht works, but receiving not. I tried a couple of roms.

To start bluetooth from HTC CommManger you should remove this line from registry
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager]
"BluetoothPlatformType"=dword:00000001
About volume, hard reset maybe needed...
With radio dont know (change from 3G mode to GSM)

Hi,
Don't understand why you can't upgrade your radio. Everybody did so ... And for the 3G-GSM issue, there's this little proggie which adds a tab to your phone-settings...

As far as I can remember, in the hx4700 thread has been talked about a modified hpRUU that would bypass any language incompatibility.... Maybe do a search there ?

oke thanx will do, hope the radio wont screw things up as it is incompatible for a reason.
Also I have done some testing:
flashed the original dutch Rom:
Operator shows double aswell as the 3G when switched to GSM.
Flashed to keyx rom Operator shows Normal but with a 3G Icon
Flashed to my custom Rom again the double operator.
Guess the dutch OEm is bad?
Edit: Cant find the edited RUU
