I have this problem on my magician....everywhere i tap (active sync-program folder-file explorer.). the program don't start....i f i push contact button it say: memory program exausted___goto settings---memory and close all program .....but i have all empty! 22 megabyte of memory program and 22 of memory storage...how can i solve this problem? what's happened!I cant' do a hard reset because i have documents on my phone and activesync don't work!!!
PLEASE HELP ME!!
Hvae you activesynced with your pc?
Do that first to copy off what you can.
Then, just soft reset the PDA (NOT hardreset).
What happens then? Do you get the memory problems from soft reset?
Try soft reseting and leaving the usb lead cable attached to get activesync to backup your contacts etc immediately after PDA boot up.
What CAN you do? Does the start menu work? Does the control panel work?
V
too
It happens to me sometimes too.
A soft-reset usually works for me.
(I hate how much i need to do that b.t.w. I NEVER had to reset my Psion in the 6 years I used it!)

I had a friend or should I say so called friend erase my phone. Basically hard reset it.
Now it will not sync or install any of my apps.
I had the 2.25.11.1 OS if it makes any difference.
I tried deleting all devices on my activesync and then renaming my phone and it still will not sync.
I try installing my SPB software and it all is unsuccessful.
Any idea would be greatly appreciated.
Which M$ Activesync version r u using ?
version 4.0 activsync
Upgrade it to either 4.2 or latest 4.5 beta from microsoft and then try .
I upgraded to 4.2 and deleted all but the device name I applied to my phone.
It starts the connection then briefly shows retrieving setting before a screen pops up saying sync process cannot be completed and to view the troubleshooting help page for activesync.
I have no clue why its acting up now.....
Ok thrn go to ur systems Document & settings folder then to ur users defined profile then in microsoft folder u will have activesync folder & in that there will b profiles manually delete the files restart ur laptop or desktop rename ur mobile device with difffrent name then restart ur device also , then try to connect , hope so this will work and make sure to restart both of them b4 connecting .
Hi guys,
2 days ago, I was playing with my trinity, installing some software, and when I restarted my device, it would load my today screen, let me make phone calls/messages, but would not allow me to access the program or the setting folder!
I tried connecting it to my PC, so I could use active sync and eventually flash the whole device (n.b. I could not use "clear storage" since I can not access the settings folder), but active sync will tell me I am connected as a guest and would not allow me to access the device. As a result the flasher returned an error messaging saying that my device did not respond.
I know I can press the power + camera button and enter manually to the tricolour screen, but I have read that doing so and running an executable file from my PC will result to bricking my phone.
I think what I need is to manually flush the rom with the tricolour screen, but i am afraid I do not know how. Can someone help me with this, or maybe suggest a better approach to this problem?
Also note that I am currently using Mary v3.7 LITE.
Thank you in advance
Hello everybody
I have a HTC Shift on which Win XP was recently installed . The problem is that it doesn't see the Snapvue part - I can't open it and can't acccess the Comm manager either. In Snapvue I just get a white screen, with the HTC logo - and the comm manager button (upper right) doesn't do anything when pressed.
The guy who installed the Win XP said something about using Active sync to enable communication between the 2 processors (?!) - The device has Active Sync installed, but it just tells me it can't synchronize.
I am a girl, as you probably noticed, and know very little about computers and stuff....Could someone save me? I ned a step-by-step guide for solving this problem, but written for DUMMIES (such as me
I also understand I could reset the device to the original Vista - but have no idea how to do it?!
Please help - I've been looking at my Shift for 3 whole days, and am getting al depressed..
Thanks in advance!

Did you turn off the device completely? I would remove it from the power, remove the battery, and give a 10 to 20 secs and put battery back and boot it.
Let me know if you have issues.
To restore it to Vista, if the recovery partition is not swiped, just press Fn+3 at the boot time and once it goes into recovery, and just follow the steps.
didn't work....
I tried removing the battery, nothing happened
When I press Fn + 3, it just goes on and starts Windows XP normally (the xp "half" works allright - it's the comm and snapvue which are dead )
Any other idea? Is there any hope ?
oww, now it's really nasty!
I insisted on pressing the FN+3 , and after one or two questions (if I wanted to continue etc) it said "invalid data on recovery partition" - and now the screen just shows black and there's no winxp anymore - I suppose I should write some commands, as there's a white line blinking....but I don't know how to do it.....Heeeelp!
If XP has been installed in place of Vista, then the recovery partition has been wiped, so FN + 3 will not work for recovering Vista.
The Vista (or XP) side and the snapvue side are two totally different entities, so you can wipe the hard drive and snapvue will still work, as it lives in ROM.
So you have 2 separate problems, you need to re-install an OS, and you need to find out why snapvue is not booting.
I managed to enter the bios ( pressed DEL) and it says that hard drive Toshiba etc is "disabled" - so no wonder it can't boot...
Could I do something to enable it or whatever?
Or should I give up ?
Hi,
Who installed XP for you?
Since you need to now 1 or 2 things about computers to do so, I think that person is the one who can help you and do it the quickest....
Other wise you need to post a message after every step and then wait for one of us to respond.... that would take days if not weeks....
Given your name, I guess you don't live near Enschede, the netherlands do you?
Otherwise You could come by and I could give it a go....

no, I live in France at the moment! But thanks for the offer anyway!
I guess I'll just take the thing to a repair shop or something
As for my name, it's "Clockwork Orange" inspired - I'm a great fan of the movie, although I'm French.
No comments regarding the guy who installed the XP! We must keep this discussion civilised!
Thanks a lot , everybody!
Hi All
recently bought a Motorola MC7094 off eBay... it has arrived and has some software installed that starts at boot up, it starts in full screen and i cant get out of it!
can anyone think of a way round this. i want to format the PDA but to do that i need to put the 'cleaner' files in the correct place on the PDA and i cant get to file explorer to do that. even going through browsing from my PC i cant get to the 'Temp' folder to put the cleaner files in there...
any help would be appriciated.
thanks
Bobro
You could try the Hard Boot key sequence from its successor the MC70. It is almost the same device.
Performing a Cold Boot - Hard reset ----- Simultaneously press the Power button and the 1 and 9 keys.
If it works, it will wipe the device to its original state at manufacture. Any software installed since will be lost. It should then boot up to the standard Windows Mobile 5/6 screen.
Solved
Thanks for the reply...
I have worked it out, you can create a folder on the PC called Temp and put the cleaner files in this folder... you can then paste this folder into the root of the PDA from 'My computer' (this folder was not visable but when pasting it askes if you want to overwright the folder. once this temp folder is on the PDA you can then do a hard reboot of the PDA. 1+9+power, it will say you need to connect AC power, once you dock the PDA again it will start the factry reset
