Convert Jam 850 to 900 - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Hello, I have an Imate Jam 850 / 1800 / 1900 . Is it possible to get it working on the 900 Frequency ? ?

First of all please do a search since there are threads about this already.
To answer your question, the answer is yes, but this requires changing the radio components of the unit.

making sx56 or tmobile ppc phone work on 1800 mhz networks

Hi,
is it possible to make the sx56 or tmobile ppc phone (normally 900/1900) work on the european 1800 mhz networks as well :?:
Thank you
Yes, you need to change it in the bootloader. Just select the one that has got the band you need. Don't try to change it in the phone settings, or it won't work.
Are you sure ?
I tried what you mention and it does not connect to Telstra...
I am running a 6.25 radio and an 4.01.16 TMO rom with a 5.17 bootloader.
I tried both 900 stand alone and 900/1800 but it did not work.
Any other trick ?
Thanks,
Bob.
so, has anyone ever succeeded with activating the 1800 mhz?
It's all depending on the device type ... PW10A works only for 900/1800 ... and PW10B works only for 900/1900 .... don't try the impossible!!! ... or you may permanently damage the RSU part!!!
better to get XDA II ... it's tri-band
well, I'm planning to buy one on ebay. how can I make sure, which one it is. what should I ask the seller to look for?
Thanks
is 900/1900 not only in America ?
in that case you should ask the seller to look at his address
ok, my question is if it's possible to make the american version 900/1900 to work on 1800 mhz
most countries in EU have both 900 and 1800 support
here is a list not sure if its 100% uptodate though but i doubt people are limiting the support

Click to collapse
Yes, only if the network supports 900 MHz
Zsilak, it will work on 900 but not on 1800.

Network Frequency Tri-band GSM 850/1800/1900

I bought an unlocked Audiovox SMT 5600 on Ebay some time ago, at that time I was not aware that it did not have 900 Frequency that is used here in Norway, I can use the the phone some of the time because it contain the 1800 Freq. that is used when the 900 is overloaded (that how I think it works).
So my question is: is it possible to get 900 freq. or is that a hardware issue, if it is is there a place where I can tradeit in to a mobile that contain the 900 freq.
It is running the latest french Orange ROM .
Thanks in advance for any response.
Regards Nitnoy

Please, help: SMT 5600 what bands?

Audiovox SMT 5600 - GSM 850 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900 or GSM 850 only?
The SMT 5600 supports these frequency bands: GSM 850 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900. The difference between that and the SPV C500 is that the C500 is on GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900.
Basically, GSM 850 is used in the US while GSM 900 was used in Europe (nowadays Europe uses the 1800 band afaik).
shandar, 10x!

New Tack - Neon

Is anyone able to access their phones radio description / capabilities through software? I mean a display showing
GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 vs. say GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
or 2100MHz UMTS/HSDPA vs. 850 / 1900
for example?
Please advise.

gsm doubt

i want to know if this cell phone will work with this band GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 this phone is locked with claro and i want make it work with tigo, also if this cell phone work with this band is there a way to unlock on this forum?
thanks in advance for the answers
unlocked versions do:
Gsm 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
wcdma 850 / 1900 / 2100
I doubt the locked ones have a different radio (physical one). The software is a whole other story.
