sound is dead - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

all of sudden the sound is dead on my phone
when someone calls in you can hear the ringtone
otherwise you cant hear and the other line cane hear you and you can't play music.
this is very wierd . i'v done hard reset many time and now i notice the fone is runnng much slower than b4 . what is going on

I think that some dirt ended up in the headset-jack. Could you plug-in and remove your headset a few times and try if this helps?

I have the same problem with my O2 xda exec (universal). I plugged my headset in as many times as I could but nothing. Still dead!

I experiece the same issue now.. Is there any fix? I can use the bluetooth or headset.. but no sound if I don't use those ways...
sigh..

Nou Sound anymore

Hello all together...since a few days I've got a serious problem with my imate.
It all started with Voice command stopped recognize my commands ( sometime during the day...i did nothing...5 minutes earlier everything was fine )
then lateron I tried to play music with the media player, but nothing came out of the speaker.
I started to get a better mood again, when someone called me and the magician made played my ringtone ( mp3 )
But when I answered the call I didnt hear the caller and neither did he....
So it is really weired... :/
This was a few days ago...in the meantime I made several cold resets, removed the powercell for about a day aso. but nothing...not even the f****** windows tones sounded.
So I tried skype on the mobile and on my desktop, just to test...
And now it is getting definetely weired.
When I called my imate from the deskopt pc firstly nothing happend. But when I started to press some buttons on the imate during the call, the sounds came through the mic and I heared them on the headphones of my desktop pc, BUT not in any way on my magician. I really dont get this... did somehow mix the speaker and the mic mixe up with each other ?!
I hope there is someone with some experience in this field, I really dont get this
And again, I really did nothing ( install copy or anything ) from the time it worked to the time it stopped working...
Thx in advance guys
iCue
Addition:
I realized
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=20784
, but I think he changed the goal of his topic...so I still hope there is a solution.
Secondly I also realized that the headphone sound ( Imate ) is still working.
Bad thing
Thirdly and finally, I found it out due to the working headphone fact.
The speaker is now working fine again.
It is a ****ing loose contact, probably a serious problem of this series.
If anybody else got the same problem, try to insert the headphones only half and move them around a bit... with a bit of luck you will hear the speakers work again.... but for how long?!

XDA Exec - loss of sound from all speakers except phone ring

All sound from stereo speakers, phone speakers , mic are not working.
Only ringtone if phone rings.
you can only hear system sounds with headset and talk with headset.
Any ideas?
Have you tried turning the volume up?

I wish it was that simple, but alas I tried a lot , and it looks like I might have a faulty one unless anyone got an idea
I find it hard to believe that it's a hardware issue if both the external speakers and the headphones don't work at the same time yet the ringtones do work.....
I hope it's something simple and you don't have to resort to a phone return.
No Sound
Has any one found a solution for this problem, as I have the exect same issue. All sounds on exec dont work execpt when receiving an incoming call, when call is answered cant hear a thing, does work though with headset.
Have tested and sms, mms etc sound doesnt work, movies and music doesnt work either.
This is not going to help  but I had a similar problem a few months ago on my XDA2. Phone rang, I tried to answer it, but couldn't hear a thing. No other sounds worked. Headphone worked perfectly. Soft resets achieved nothing.
Thought my XDA2 had died after 18 months of service, but then suddenly an hour later it all started working again and did from then on.
I have no idea why this happened or whether I did anything to fix it, but the problem isn't unique to the Universal.
I'm running PocketZenPhone. Maybe that could be interfering with the sounds somehow? Dunno.
Edit: I doubt it's a hardware problem so I definitely wouldn't risk sending my shiny Exec back to O2's monkeys for them to replace with another broken one. Did you try a hard reset? I didn't on the XDA2 but maybe it'd help. :?:
Try this...
Maybe you should try this, I use it in order to transfer all the sounds (including music) to the BT Headset when I am at the gym:
-Get Total Commander
-Go to the registry editor
-Tap or search for this directory: \\\registry\HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\
-Change the value of the String LaunAPEnable to value "0".
-Now press and hold the main button on the headset (the one you use to answer calls and transfer the call to the speaker of the Universal) and try if this worked.
-If you succeed or not revert the value of the string back to "1" or you will not be able to use VoiceCommand.
Hope this can help you.
Problem SOLVED. No sound
I had the same issue with my Jasjar. When you plug in the headphones it turns off the speakers except for incoming ring tones. The inside of the ear jack got stuck. I had to take apart the unit and bend the clip. It contacted so that it didnt' think there was a headphone inserted. I don't ever remebering plugging in a headphone to even have cause this problem. Its just a very loose contact. So when you get in there you bend it to make it stronger. You will understand once you have it apart.

No sound :-(

Hi,
Following on from my phone app problems, my XDA Mini S has now stopped producing sound alltogether!
I believe the problem is that the phone thinks i have the headset plugged in, as i can hear sounds through the suppluied headphones but nothing when they are unplugged - not even during a call.
Please can someone make a suggestion? I have tried soft resetting.
:?:
EDIT: I should point out that i can hear the ringtone when the phone rings through the speaker but absolutely no other sounds - nothing in calls and nothing from the speakers - WMAs etc.
try unplugging and plugging it back in a few times (quite a few in one go)
the headphone "sensor" is usually hardware which picks up when something is physically plugged in .
not sure what else to try
if u have had it less then 30 days then get a replacement next day from o2.
or hard reset ? but backup first!
Hmm,
I just can't work this out. How come the ringtone plays through the speakers? If the phone thought the headset was plugged in would it not just play the ringer through the headset? Can anyone confirm this please?
Stupid phone :-(
Mine did the same, ringtone played OK but could only make calls with the headset plugged in. Thouhgt I was going to have to return it, but ried pushig the jack i alittle further before pulling it out and it all started working OK. I've not had the problme since.
hi guys , i have problem with sound as well , i just unblocked the simlock with lokiwiz02b , and suddenly there was no sound at all , i can call but there is no sound , i tried to play ringtones nothing works , headset is not solution as well , when i tried to run media player message - no hardware device to play sound or device not available , and everytime i open the volume control it's show that it's mutted and i can't scroll it up to make any sound all i can say it seems that system drivers for sound are ****ed up,
anybody have any idea how to solve it? i have still few days to return it but i played with this simlock so i'm afraid they can charge me extra for repair ,
Have you tried a hard reset?

My Charmer, has the opposite problem. My speaker went dead on my suddenly during a phone conversation on speaker phone mode. So, I can't hear any phone rings and stuff, but still able to make calls, with or without the ear phone.
Yes, confirm (for my charmer) that if you have your ear phone in, speaker won't give you any sound. So, don't think it is that earphone plug sensor thing problem.
yes i tried hard reset but everything still the same -no sound at all
No sound on earpiece, microphone ok
Well I tried the suggestions in the forum and still it didn't work. I then thought maybe there's dust and stuff in the workings, blew into the earpiece and it worked.
It's worth a try!
Hope this helps.
Hello to everybody.. I had the same problem for months and last week i gave my wizard to the assistance cause I feded up!
I solve the problem with 70 euros but now it-s better.

Himalaya I can't hear anything when Calling

Hello all
I have big problem with my himalaya. When someone calling to me or I calling to someone i can't hear anything and he can't hear me. But I can hear ring tone, mp3. I can hear someone and he can hear me when I connect my XDA 2 to computer.
What i can do with That??
the problem is with the connector.few Pins are broken or are touching each ither...which causes the Hima to go into Car Mode..try connecting a Headphone and see if it works or not..else get your Connector replaced
no audio
If the above doesn't work, this could be a problem, which after a LOT of research I don't believe there has been a fix found for. Essentially , my problem and a problem my mate had was that the audio on the phone was working FINE, MP3, ringtone etc... but upon answering or calling, there was no IN CALL sound. it WORKED with a headset, but no amount of fiddling with the jack sorted it out. THe LOUDSPEAKER also would NOT work.
Having a few donar phones lying about, I just put a new board into the phone and forgot about the problemed one for a week or so, left it laying in my drawer. Tried it in the phone after waiting this time, and it worked FINE.... the problem had rectified itself.
I know this isn't necessarily helpful, but perhaps leaving the phone in a dry warm place ? could be moisture..?
hope this helps.
..........IB a n e
well, it happend with me yesterday, just took the Batt. out ( 30 second), put it back, reset the device, and all will be OK,....its a software feature AND NOT A BUG... beleave it or NOT....

problem with headset and rom

Hi!
I have a problem. Recently I 've installed new rom (touch-it 4.0)on my xperia. Everything was fine but when I plugged my phone to hi-fi, I started having problems. After i unplugged the phone the headphone icon was still on the display bar. I've tried to switch off the phone or even remove the battery but the problem still exist.I am not able to even make a call, without my headset, cause phone still acting like sth was plugged to the mini jack.
Please, do anybody know a solution to this case???
best regards,
Karol
Same...
I've got the same problem. I didn't install any Mod Roms, but Ive heard it could be a hardware problem. All the suggetions didn't work... like unplugg it when you just started a call...
My main problem is that it doesn't play any sounds anymore... Coreplayer says: "Wave Output: Device error!"
Maybe its because i've installed WOW-HD Sound app...
Shouldn't have done so... I guess..
But the headset problem still exists besides the sound prob, cause ive read a lot of stories about exactly this bug...
It's the same at my phone: The headset symbol doesn't disappear when you unplug your headset...
I think i got the worst case: My sound doesnt work so i even cant make calls with the headset... means, left for me is sms and Internet...
Thats why I bought a mobile phone
having thesame icon on my phone too cant hear nothing when receiving a call not ontill i slip in my headphone but my ringer works good thats the reason its amazing that i can hear my ring tone when am been called but cant hear nothing when accepting a call ,till i slip i my head phone, anyone got a solution? try let us know, thanks in advance
