Does anyone know if O2 has already launched its MP3 Player for the XDA family?, Do you guys know if there is another web browser por pocket pc rather than internet explorer??
last question 8)
I have an XDA IIi and the clock is missing ,it only shows the volume and the phone Icons at top of the device, do you think this is normal on the device??, or if there is a way to fix this
regards
Jorge
Have you tried ftxp browser, the wm2003 version is freely downloadable, there are several things to be added but its worth a look.
Just copy it to your pocket pc.

This is due to the software installed by o2 during the initial install. There are LOTS of posts on various ways to bypass this if you search for them. There are two main ways: registry hack or complete removal of the o2active software.
I for one have posted on a detailed way of doing the second of these, but for the first option go here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=16580&highlight=2i+clock+registry
and look for shanedean's second post. It references the issue and directs you to tekguru's site to perform the registry hack. You will need a PPC registry editor to do it.

Before i got wizard, i was using Dell AximX50v. Wizard is equiped with hardware keyboard, but for short notices i am badly missing the "graffiti" input (letter recognizer). So, because this is not supported by Wizard from WM5 side, i am looking for some alternative software, capable running on a Wizard and working in same or similar way, like standard letter recognizing works on other PPCs. Do you use something like that? Can you please post tips and expiriences? Thanks a lot, i think, i am not alone, who is worried about this missing feature
try to search for "letter recognizer", i might help...
or go here:

I'm sorry if this has been covered somewhere before, but I've search for over an hour, and can't find a good answer.
Is the a reliable way to have a bigger keypad for phone dialing? I want to keep all the original functionality including smart dialing and voice dialing, but with bigger keys that are more "finger friendly"
Thanks
Start -> Programs -> Phone
That what you were after? Or is it not what you wanted?
bcarpman: there are various custom skins available for the dialler. Search for "eten dialler", or check out Buzz's site/signature.
There are other ways, but this is the mainstream way.

Hi All...!
In this times i has received many support from user niki forum.
Thanks so much guys.
Now i'm cooking ours Rom niki device, and what u want in Niki project Rom please post here.I will look in it and select which the best for us.
Any ideas just post in this thread
U're welcome guys
first to post here...well I guess the best way to start is to thank you for your work!
second..I think that all niki's users would love to find a way to improve battery life...right now it really drains out quickly..and perhaps there is something that can be done to reduce the consumption of energy.
plus i would love to see wifi connectivity on my screen..
ciao from Italy
I guess there will be many nice things to include (which dont come to my mind right now.. )
The only thing i'd say at the moment is that it would be awesome to include PointUI (www.pointUI.com) in some way... I know it's in very early stage and still has some bugs but it simply looks astonishing!
just my 2 cents...
i would like long press end key to power an .exe. such as slide2unlock..
1st I want to appreciate for you taking the time to try to make a good device even better.
Here it goes:
A finger friendly, always accessible task manager/task switcher (like the one of AE Button Plus, also the button-customization possibilities are nearly endless, which enable ducamie to do what he wants)
hangup-on-slider-close tool which is available in the forum. maybe it needs some modding since I prefer not to lock the phone or anything else but just to hang-up if I accepted the call via slider-open.
LCMinutes (also available here)
the HTC Apps with all proper working customization tools
since we own the niki, we all love eye candy stuff. So if something looks awesome and don't impact on performance too much, consider it.
some kind of working card export thing
system tweaks that make the niki a bit faster. consider to spent more ram to get more speed (some cache values and such things)
how about google maps
not to mention that working gps would be really great
get rid of those MS Live Apps
Well... this list is quite long I guess. Consider this a cheeky wishlist .
Cheers,
jekk
Black Berry Connect 4.0.0.92 Included!!
This Version Work in the RIM Network!
Personally I would like:
- to be able to customise the long end key press, to add other programs, mortscripts, etc to it.
- to be able to customise the Keypad quick tasks (I have changed New Note to launch Opera Mini so it is possible)
- A decent close all running programs function, ideally to be able to invoke the HTC xbutton task manager 'drop down' using a button.
Really appreciate your efforts Tom.
Request:
1) Radio FM
2) Wi-FI
3) GPS
apps:
1) Slide2Unlock
2) HTC Home Customizer
3) Pim Backup
4) Advanced Config.
5) WkTask
6) Call Firewall

the funny thing about this is that if it didnt exist at all like in the excalibur there would be ALOT of users screaming to have this functionality . After getting used to the T9 function I really dont mind it.
having said that a 4 sided cube that dont resemble the iphone would be great. and then the obvious is a big storage rom without the ext-rom.
Why do you guys want that third party soft like point ui or similar will be installed?
If a new version is released u have to install the new pointui in userspace.
Then u have lost double space.
I would prefer to remove all apps that can be installed by yourself.
Even Live Mobile or HTC Apps.
Then everybody can install what he needs and save space.
Also u can remove soft if there is something newer if it's not in the ROM.
If it's in ROM it's lost space and u have to flash a new ROM erverytime a app
is released in a new version if u need more space.
And that means to install everthing u need again and again.
Pls do a stable and good Rom with only the needed things,
for additional apps in newest version we have threads like the HTC Apps Thread.
Is it possible to have it contain more than 1 language keyboards/text input? I know have an English version, and it would be usefull for me to be able to use xt9 in Dutch.

TOTALLY AGREE!!
And I would like that you put in a softkey reg that fills up my bankaccount each time I press it.
Also a x-ray hack to the camera, I dont think I need to explain why
j/k
sorry 4 spam Tom, just had to
I came up this morning with one more things that i would love to have in my phone:
the possibility to use two dictionaries at the same time (primary and secondary). i.e. :If you write a word in T9 that it is not recognize by the first dictionary T9 tries to see possible matches with the second one..
ciao
thanks for cooking the Niki Project ROM!
these are the things that I want to be included in the ROM (if possible)
- WIFI & GPS Workaround
- Disable XT9
- Be able to map keypad buttons (IE button as "OK/Close" (16 keys))
- FM receiver
- Removable Storage workaround (WM5 Storage/Card Export)
good luck on the project!

There's a nice software for windows mobile devices called GSM Locator and you can find it at
http://www.handango.com/catalog/ProductDetails.jsp?storeId=2218&productId=246582
It uses GSM Cell Information and assigning various actions to be performed automatically when you enter or leave a specific place: set alarm, switch current theme, change ring tone , change volume , change ringer mode, change phone status ,change phone status ,change bluetooth status , send SMS ,Run Exe or e-mail message
It's a really nice software i'm using it on my HTC Tytan II Device and it working nice, you can try it for free for 13 days.
Enjoy It
It is something I have been thinking about for a while... Does it allow to change the profiles manually from the today plugin? Or to switch the WiFi or Bluetooth on/off?
Changing Profile Manually
GOOOOOD IDEA ,, but it dosn't switch profile manually it uses the cell information to switch profile automatically ,,
But they will take it into considration in next release ,, I sent your idea to them and they replyed this feature will included in next relase next FEB,, if you have another suggestions you can mail them at [email protected]
Guys,
for that matter, better use PhoneAlarm - it can't be beat http://www.pocketmax.net/phoneAlarm.html

yes but PhoneAlarm is very complicated ,, frankly speeking I don't like it
Guys ,, GSM Locator is the better Location Based Profiler till now ,so don't miss the change to try it ,,
Another vote for Phone Alarm here - it really is not that complicated, and is very skinnable etc.

any way we can't compare GSM Locator with phoneAlarm because they are diffrent ,,
phone alarm aims to make phone usage more simpler and it gives users some profiling capabilities
but GSM Locator is a "Location Based Profiler" it aim to customize you phone settings based on your location throw a list of activites like
Change Device Volume
Change Phone Volume
Change Ringtone
Change Ringer Mode
Change Bluetooth state
Send SMS to a Pocket Outlook contact
Change Theme
Set Alarm
Start an executable file (.exe)
Change Phone State (ON ,OFF Flight Mode)
Also it can integrate with any other software using "start an executable activity". this feature gives you the ability to do any thing you want.
Much more GSM Locator support schedules that you can use to customize you setting on time bases without changing the profile.
You can use schedules to activate flight mode at night and turn it off at the morning or changing windows mobile theme once at the morning , at the evening ,at the night ,, etc,,
And you can get all those features with just 34.99 $ , WOW so great
GSM Locator is really different and powerfull
http://www.handango.com/catalog/ProductDetails.jsp?storeId=2218&deviceId=1149&platformId=30&productId=246582
Hey, PhoneAlarm does all this too, and much much more!
Besides location based profiler, it also incorporates Calendar and time-based profilers etc etc. GSM Locator is just one of the locator options, others also being wi-fi, cell broadcast, SIM-low resolution, and GPS. And PA's profiles are fully packed with an enormous number of features.
Dear nallvaico
We are not here for fighting we just sharing our experiences with the two software products ,, I used the both and I selected GSM Locator and also I see phoneAlarm not easy to use than GSM Locator .
this is my opinion as i'm free and this is ur opinion so, no problem at all ,, i see GSM Locator good for me.
and I advice people who searching for such software products to try GSM Locator
http://www.handango.com/catalog/ProductDetails.jsp?storeId=2218&deviceId=1149&platformId=30&productId=246582
And at the end of the day people can try the both products and decide which one is better for them comparing to the features the get and the cost they pay ,, take it easy dear
Cellprofileswitcher is freeware and does the same, read here and download.

I will confess that I was wondering that? The recommendations were a bit too keen.....Best advice is to try them all as with most things.
IF (and I say IF) the OP does have links with that software, then it would be better to be upfront about it.

LOOOOOOOOOOOL(s) , i'm not working for any anyone else. I bought a software ,, and I see it's a good software product that's all ,,
Then, you seem a little too eager, I was thinking of trying the app but you seem too pushy with the "this is the greatest app ever attitude." That is why people are suspecting you. In XDA we are already see people plugging paid apps as a bit dubious, specially when they get as defensive as you have when someone mentions an alternative. I am positive I am not the only one who thinks that way.
In the spirit of XDA-Devs I am going to test the freeware app on my Hermes first, will report later.
In my experience PhoneAlarm, although being very very good software, makes my device sluggish and unresponsive. And I am not alone in this view. I have been using it for about a year, then switched to a simpler SPB something, then Phone Weaver... The phone feels much quicker without PA (same for Trinity and Omnia).
So I do understand that PA is not for everyone and GSM Locator may do the job better.
Are you guys reps of PA by any chance??
No - just a fan.
As I said, best thing is try them all - in the end I had no such issues with PA and still use it.
