button lock program for universal - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Does anyone know of a program that will lock the buttons of a univeral (especially the phone buttons on the side) whilst the phone is in your (BIG) pocket.
This was a feature of the WM5 rom on the himalaya but appears to be missing on the universal.

under settings -> buttons -> lock you can activate the option: Lock all buttons except Power button, but this doesn't deactivate the phone buttons.

software to lock keys during call?

Is there a software that will lock my keys and buttons including the ones on the side during a call? I'm always inadvertently hitting or pressing some button during a call.
Just press the power button to turn the display off which in turns locks the keys. you have to press the power button again to turn the display back on
thanks but i'm not looking to turn the phone OFF, i need to not have the buttons active during a phone call when the phone is ON.
I oftentimes accidentally press some button or another when I get a phone call. When I used to have a Treo 700wx there was a feature to lock all buttons during a phonecall. I'm looking for that functionality here as well.
I also had a Treo, but I don't find the need for the key lock anymore on my XV6800. I don't think I've ever accidentally pushed a button during a call.

Disable Red/Green Keys when Screen is off ?

Hi there,
Is there a regkey to make sure the virtual buttons wont work when the screen is off ?
Example : I'm in a call, I press power to turn off the screen, but the device in my pocket...
Currently : if it press accidently the Red key... It hang the call. (baaaad)
Ideally : it wouldnt do anything except if I press again Power.
Any idea?
I think that 'aebutton plus' will do what you want...
Anyone has a better idea/tip ?
I tried S2U2 (Slide 2 Unlock 2) for this but it does not lock the buttons during a call. Maybe TouchLockPro??
I solved the problem with AEButtons Plus.
I set the red and green button to doubleclick, which works fine.
In S2U2 you can disable the two buttons as well.
Just look for the S2A Answer/End Keys in S2U2 Config
Thanks Tavos, I'm still not sold with "Why they changed this behavior..." (at least my TyTN II did it right... no power button, no accident )

Virtual buttons disabled when screen is off?

Just bought my HD and is loving it. However, the lack of physical buttons is quite frustrating, especially when I am driving.
I like to listen to music with the screen turned off. However, when the screen is off, all the virtual buttons are disabled. Only the physical buttons like the volume and power are active.
Does anyone know if there is a way to enable the virtual buttons even when the screen is off?
i too would be very interested in this. the buttons are not capacitive, but still the ability to wake / power on the phone using the front buttons would be cool
Unfortunately the use of the hardware keys are disabled whilst in standby mode and this cannot be changed
However you can use 3rd party apps like AEBPlus to map other functions to buttons like vol up
i.e.
Volume Up button
One short press > move up
two short press > play
Long press > volume up
and this can be duplicated with different functions to other buttons
Try doing a search for AEB Plus and read up on it. Also search this forum for other methods

I am already using AEBPlus but I need more than 2 buttons. The mapping is done by the application, PocketPlayer, and it doesn't support double press.
Interestingly, when you are making a phone call, the screen will go off initially. You can actually press one of the virtual button to turn the screen back on. So I thought there might be a way to achieve this...
How is your screen getting turned off? By PocketPlayer or by the system's energy-settings? Possibly try Display Switch (yet another little app as Part of psshutXP) for this. Found this in my Touch (ELF) Rom and use it for any app, that doesn't support display-switching itself. Keeps my (hardware)-buttons funktional...

Hardware keys – please help

Mostly the problem is in front of the monitor, but …
My Leo is turned off. There is a ‘Power On’ Button.
But I can start the leo with each hardware key. Is this a bug?
Is there a tool or trick, that all hardware buttons are locked except the ‘Power ON/OFF’
Thanks in advance
old_man
Not sure if it's still the case on the HD2, but on all other WM devices I've had there's a "Key lock" item in settings->system (go to the manila settings page (last one), right soft key All Settings). You can choose to lock nothing, all, or all but power.
Thanks, but there is no possibility to choose, what to lock
Question to HD2 owners: can you power on with all hardware keys?
old_man
Yes, any key powers my HD2 on. Annoying isn't it.
I'm using Pocket Shield to keep things under control. It's working well using the light sensor to auto unlock if it's out of my pocket, but stay locked if it's dark (in my pocket). In the dark it's a quick downward swipe to unlock or a physical gesture with the whole device.
Thanks, I’ll give Pocket Shield a try.
I’m using a Noreve case with a notch over the 'Power On'-key, but Leo is always on, when the case is closed and all hardware keys can power on
