How can I remove simlock from my MDA PRO?
T Mobile said I they can unlock it for £15. However, I have paid out my contract to terminate it early (although that wasn't much money)

hi,
i've just got my new T-Mobile MDA Pro and its great.
The only drawback is that it is SIM-locked! As I bought it with contract (it got quite cheap!) I can't call the hotline.
So - does anybody know how to unlock the device?
Any Idea where to look?

I am hoping to get a wizard as soon as they come out and it looks like O2 and Vodaphone will be first. Do both these carriers lock their phones? I currently have an Orange and a t-mobile account so would prefer to use my existing sims and just use the new account as a means to "spead the payment costs" (I got my jam for free 9 months ago for the price of a £22 p/m contract )
If they do lock their phones does anyway know if the existing unlock methods will work.
On a different note, I much prefer the look of the qtek 9100 to the k-jam - are there any hardware differences apart from the look?
Paul
I'm %90 sure they do... plus as a rule Vodafone butcher the firmware of most phones.
Get either a Imate or Qtek you should find it unlocked as its not a 'branded' phone.
I would suggest that buymobilephones.net is the best place as you can get one of the above with a contract... I am...

- The device will be sim-locked by t-mobile.
- It will be possible to use it with other carriers, but you need to sim-unlock it first
- It will be possible to load WWE Roms on it I think, just give the boys here some time
Not a SIM-lock, but a network lock!
???
What is a network lock???

Hello, i have a few questions about this subject. Is there already a way that we can network/sim-unlock the T-mobile Vario? And to load the qtek or Imate rom on it, in that way you can have a cheap Wizard.( in comparance with the others) Except for the t-mobile branding on the front
Please!
Hello,
can someone please tell me the difference between a Sim-Lock and a Net-Lock?
I am interested in the MDA Vario of T-Mobile.
It seems that for the MDA Pro T-Mobile has provided a free unlock code to who purchased it at the full price without any subscrition.
Will it be the same on the MDA Vario? Will it be a Net-Lock code or a Sim-Lock code???
I live in Italy and I would like to buy it from T-Mobile Netherland at 459 €... will it work on the italian carrier?
Thank you very much,
Dakkar
from what i understand, the phone has been locked by the network, because of either misuse (not paid the bill) or was maybe stolen and reported.
simlock is locked to a particular network
block is the phone is completely blocked from any network
it states : the network is locked but believe me it is a simlock
Hi everyone,
i have a MDA Pro and im trying to unlock it.
I want to use my E-Plus Basecard.
Provider is T-Mobile (Phone House)
I did this steps:
1 - Unzip lokiwiz.zip to somewhere in your computer
2 - Copy EnableRapi.cab to your Wizard
3 - Execute the EnableRapi.cab in your phone. Wait for it to finish
4 - Guarantee that your phone is connected via ActiveSync with the computer
5 - Execute lokiwiz.bat
And then i see this problem:

Whats my problem? Can someone help me, please?

TMob MDA Pro is not Wizard is Universal - no SIMunlock soft yet
I cant believe that. Cause someone told me that i should ask here...
You have solution - costly by T-Mobile - only 99,50 Euro , or make some donation to the site( xda or Buzz.net) - wait for solutions from Buzz
Indeed, the T-Mobile MDA Pro is the HTC Universal. You'll want to read this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=40389&highlight=universal+unlocking
You /can/ get it unlocked through a service (probably mentioned in that thread) - but it'll cost you $$. It may even be cheaper to have it unlocked through your local T-Mobile shop. Free utilities are still in progress.
Hi
I have an o2 XDAII that was bought from o2 on a contract.
The contract has ended. I want to use the XDA on PAY AS YOU GO for Internet Access only.
I've bought an o2 PAYG SIM card and they have confirmed that the SIM is GPRS enabled.
However, having followed all the correct connection settings, I can't get it to connect to the internet.
I have tried xdaunlock and it says that the phone appears to be unlocked already so that was no help.
I spoke to o2 and they said that the phone was 'designed' for contract only and there is no guarantee it will work on PAYG as it is 'locked' to a contract only setting.
If I check in MY XDA there is a box to tick for pre paid or post paid. PRE is what I want but I am unable to tick it. Only POST (ie contract) is available.
Anyone got any ideas how I can get around this or have I got a redundant XDA that won't work unless I keep my contract?
Cheers
Yes it works!
I have a Himalaya that's just been retired as I put my O2 contract SIM into a new Artemis.
I followed the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=341203 and have got GPRS working happily on my Himalaya using an O2 Pay and Go SIM.
