Anyone tried them yet. I am surprisingly impressed with them. In the past the XDA II and XDA IIs' earphones have been very poor - but I might keep these that came with the Exec they seem to be OK.
Try them and let me know.

yes, they're not too bad at all.
For sound I use Senheiser PX100 with WMP10. Very pleasing

For some reason it feels like the speaker is considerably lower than the speakers in the D1. Is there any app/script or something I can do to make my speakers louder?
Good question. There is a noticeable difference in the volume.

This has been asked many times and there are no solutions yet. It's still much louder than HTC phones, so we should be thankful for that.
I know you can boost the volume on iphone's which are jailbroken...
I'll check out what they did to boost the volume, maybe that will help a bit i guess

There's an app in the market called louder volume hack... Not sure if it'll work on the droid, but it works well for me on the hero
On the devs website they say that LVH won't work for any of the motorola phones.

Ok, never mind then
I checked into it yesterday after reading the orginal post. He has the files that you could push manually to your phone. Someome could probably get the files and figure out why it doesn't work and patch it? Not sure though.

I really hope so because this phone is ridiculously quiet. I really like some hardware updates on this phone compared to D1, but the D1 just seemed like a more user-friendly device.
Is there a way to get the mic on the apple earphones to work with this phone?

I would SO buy that xD
i was watching season 8 of the popular TV Show '24'
and noticed how the protagonist 'Jack Bauer' CTU special agent always uses Headset when on missions.
imagine if he wasnt using headset....he could be killed in shooting..because his hands would be engaged..and he couldnt hear the conversation.
a very small detail..but improves our life so much.
how many times have you missed important details in between a phone call i.e you couldnt hear the other party because of outdoor noise?
using a headset improves our life so much:
-they project a much louder sound..so you can hear everything
-handsfree...you can take calls while getting off bus or trains
- using wired headsets is healthier...phone radiation has been shown to damage brain cells.
from tomorrow..i am not leaving house without a headset.
also gonna buy a bluetooth headset soon
-
mmmmmm ok

Lol I used my wired headset probably 80% of the time.

So i decided to root my G2. When i did i got a phone call and could not hear the other person. I decided to unroot my phone and I still have the problem. I don't think its a hardware issue because i have never dropped the phone from a large height. Ironic that it would be but I don't think thats the case.
If anyone has a fix please reply! I've tried SuperWipe and Wipe through ClockWork and factory reset and everything!! I don't know what i haven't tried yet but a fix would be very appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
Probably need some more information regarding what ROM you are running. I know there was trouble with some older ICS ROMs (and GB if I recall, its been a long time) where the mic pickup was terrible and people could barely hear you talking during a call.
EDIT: Opps. Just saw you were talking about hearing other people, not them hearing you. Still, need more information regarding the ROM you're on.
Just got the same problem on Andromadus 99. I will check if its software or hardware related in a couple of hours when I get home.

After I rooted I decided to use CyanogenMod 9 RC1 Unofficial. When I noticed the problem I immediately unrooted my phone using the XDA Wiki. I'm now running stock 2.3.4 with S-ON.
Try speaker phone.
Try a bluetooth device.
If it doesnt work, you may be speak with a silent person.

sounds coincidental, think you may need to spend the 4$ and 20 min to replace the speaker

That's something I would like to know, too. My speaker also broke and I dont have a replacement phone for the time it would be in repair. Do you have something like a guide for changing the speaker?

Yeah that'd be great. The only part that I can take apart is the battery haha.
I'm sure there is a dissasembley guide somewhere on youtube. I'm not much of a guide guy I just like taking things apart so I couldn't tell you. if search ebay or amazon you'll be able to find the speaker I'm sure. if either of you are having trouble pm me and ill walk you through it, @ work now so I don't have time to write up a full guide, only tools needed will be a t5 and small phillips

Ok thanks!
I did a quick Google search and i found this:
http://www.repairsuniverse.com/htc-t-mobile-g2-earpiece-speaker-replacement.html
It a replacement part with tools and instructions.. i've never heard of the website so i'm kind of skeptical about it. Idk if its safe or not to buy..
Hi all, got my nexus 4 yesterday through O2 yesterday and started using it today, first impressions are it is a brilliant phone, much better than the s3 of mine which after updating to 4.1 became very slow among other things!
Anyway the purpose of this thread is to find out if you guys have the same 'problem' as me! Basically when I shake the handset I can hear something moving inside the earpiece, this don't sound normal to me but if it is a regular thing then ok, but if not I'm going back to O2 tomorrow.
So, does anyone else have this problem?
Thanks
Same here mate.. I didn't noticed that until now. I hope it will not cause me any hearing problems..:what:

Doesn't really bother me (yet) but don't want it to turn into a problem!
It should be definitely ok, let's hope this will be the only problem with the handset. So far I am impressed. I need to be carefull and not to drop it.
