Was just curious....
i'm planning to buy the universal when some vga hack is available...
Thanks!

Nope.
I've been playing with it but I can't get the OS to call the 96dpi dlls. I think WM5 calls the dpi specific dlls in a different way to WM2003 and I have yet to work out how.

Is it possible in WM5 ?
What do I do with the .psk file? (PhoneSkin file)
VGA phone skins
it is possible but I haven't found any VGA phone skins, only the different provider skins (t-mobile -> ugly, qtek ok).
I have seen some very good skins, even with photo, for wm2005 but only for qvga devices :-(
Has anyone else found some good VGA phoneskins?
There are not too many !
Check this one, IMO the nicest.

EDIT: or what do you think about the below one ? Standard on the QTEK ROM and Swisscom
how did you changed the background of the qtek skin?
can sum1 just post the cab files for the instalation of the skins from all the networks, now hopefully you will know that they mut include the video button, thanks, i just think it would be handy if sum1 did this
be careful, some ROMS have the video button hard coded so if you have TMobile ROM for example and you apply a skin youll get the buttons with pink corners and a pink video button. I tried it and ended up trashing the build and having to do a hard reset.
I would be glad to get rid of the gay pink branding....
has anyone found new VGA phoneskins for the universal? It seems that even at buzzdev nobody has made a real goodlooking VGA phoneskin
Do anybody have an ideas how to make it work? Or it's impossible.
I'd be interested to see if working with 128dpi too. However, if this is not possible, you might want to consider 96dpi, which works with iGO 2006. I know... it's a little hard on my eye too, but quite a number of software do not work in 128 but would in 96dpi. So... Anyway, give 96dpi a chance if no solution is found. You might find it not unacceptable after a while.
Cheers.
Guys is there a way to fix the really TINY kepyad in TT7? i tried TT6 and have the same problem??
i had the same issue with xperia
I have exactly the same problem - not much help I know but at least you know it's not just you
You need the VGA version of Tomtom.
i have the vga version cab it doesnt work, only the qvga version works
There are several variants of the V7 cab, some of which are for VGA devices and will install on the HD. Check the other threads regarding Tomtom for the correct CAB.
Is the 7.910.985 vga cab the correct one to use on the HD?
Yes it is.
I went through that problem. Version 7.450.9028 doesn't matter if it's qvga or vga has got a tiny keyboard. You have to use 7.910.9185 VGA and keyboard is perfect in that version.
BUT!!! That version is a lot slower that 7.450.9028
So, there is no perfect sollution Good looking or good working
a lot slower in what sense? In the FPS? In the response time? In the lag?
Looks like FPS but it also causes lag
Okay, does anyone have a 3G dialer that is QVGA? I am using the original Nike one (reskinned) but am finding some incompatabilities with the latest packages where the 2G dialer works fine.
Can anyone tell me which dll's need editing to achieve a port from a WVGA or VGA device? And is the editing just the dialogs or to I need to disassemble and rebuild with IDA (which I have no idea on what to do). Obviously I would need to resize graphics as well .
I am sure that there are still quite a few QVGA users that a craving for an updated 3G dialer, so can anyone jump on board and guide us less fortunate souls
Thanks
DT
yea i'm hoping the mega dial gets ported to cdma n i'll be happy haha
+1 for me!
First off,
Not sure if this should really be posted here as I am not necessarily contributing myself, but I figure this is where the guys are that can figure this out and if so, then the result will help many of of QVGA guys who golf
Moderator... if this needs to be moved please to do so... thanks
Here is what I'm asking...
GolfLogix has finally released it's Golf GPS program for WM, but they only released it for the Touch Pro (or just 480 x 640 VGA devices). I have a Touch and after I install this and try to run it says it's the wrong resolution.
I was wondering if someone in this forum can hack it to work on QVGA devices?
I'm attaching the cab
Thanks!
Edit: couldn't get the cab to upload so here is a link to download the cab...
