I'm planning to buy the XDA Mini S as soon as it comes available for mortals here in Germany. And I'll need to spoof the MAC address of the WiFi adapter, because of my ISP. Is that possible in any way?
Thanks in advance

Hi All
I have a new XDA II and would like to connect over my ISP (UUNET http://global.mci.com/about/network/pops/) with an ISDN number to UUNET and from UUNET over VPN to my coprate network. I have my VPN IP number and the Group-Authentication code. With my Notebook using Cisco VPN Client 4.0 its works well.
Any suggestions would be good.
Thanks and regards
JFK
Which type of VPN do you use?
PPTP is apparetly more reliable than IPSec (an O2 article I can no longer find stated this). One of the conslusions was that neither was very reliable, especitally if your moving. So if you get it to work, don't move!
Other than that, just ensure you are connecting to the right server and all your settings are correct.
Ben
you may try ncp vpn. It have PPC version.
supposingly you could connect to cisco VPN with it.

recently aquired O2 XDA mini s which i have installed virgin mobile SIM card
how do i get virgin mobile GPRS & MMS settings into XDA mini s
also,
using wanadoo wireless broadband at home and although XDA says network is available, i cant connect. i think it maybe something to do with WEP key for wanadoo which is 26 characters long (too long for xda?)
do i need to change this key to something shorter on router and all pc`s connected to it?
thanks

Hi all,
Does anyone know how to connect the O2 XDA IIi (Alpine) into secure Wireless Network in University ?
because it needs to connect through:
non-broadcast SSID, WPA-PSK2 Site as well as the Thawte Server CA Certificate and logging on using the Username & password
(http://www.uow.edu.au/its/wireless/guides/XPSP2userguide.pdf)
do I need a special software or update the firm ware ?
please help me as socketcom.com Pocket wifi is not compatible with O2 XDA IIi (Alpine).
Thanks
Have been trying out some wifi software for PPC. Have tried Pocket warrior, MiniStumbler, and a few others.
Is anyone aware of some software that is compatible with the Wireless adapter on the XDA IIi that is capable of showing SSID, IP Address as well as what encryption is being used.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi,
I was just wondering whether it would be feasible to use my XDA Exec as a server, or even "just" as a mail server? Does anyone know whether O2 blocks Port 25 as standard? If so, can it be unblocked?
It would make life so much simpler if I could run a mail server from my XDA Exec... Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

G0 on then you got me, im fascinated!
as far as i know there is no port blocking on o2 network but , it could be diffucult to forward packets from external ip to your local ip. On o2 you dont get unique wan ip when you connect to gprs but use one of the o2 servers.
