I am sure lionbattery will roll one out after some time.
I will jump all over an extended battery. I'm pissed because I just ordered an extended battery for my 8525 and now I'm about to upgrade to the Kaiser. (Didn't realize the Kaiser was released so soon when I ordered the battery).
An extended battery is a must. I use pushmail so my internet connection is always enabled. That drains my battery SO FAST.
What about this?

Dont do that. I bought a 3600mah for the same price or less that's the same size. That's what im talking about though it makes the phone really bulky.
I just rather carry an external 4 AA battery charger. It lasts me 3 days continual usage. The AA batteries are each 2800mAh and are rechargeable. So enjoy!
really 4AA last that long? but hmm dont you have to have the batteries in a diff unit and then that unit is connected via USB? or how?
btw i think ill be skipping on kaiser, i got a used 8525 for the price of just the phone but with 2x 1500 bat and i believe a 3000 one... plus the original battery as well with the external battery charger this is great... which it came with as well
reasons for skipping is because of tmobile, who knows when they will get there act together, and i really want a phone that has vga for web now... i can see how it would make a big diff, but the battery will have to be like 1500 stock+ or so to run well i believe.
finaly! (maybe)

Mmmm. Their site says "we’ve established that our extended, larger battery is a good thing" - physically bigger then??? That's worrying.

Those should work with Kaiser, right? This would be a great and cheap solution to carry in my bag if I know i'll need extra juice.
EDIT: was browsing their site and found this http://www.thepocketsolution.com/PSI-42765.html so I answered my own question :-D

I dont think its a external charger its a extended battery "Replacement HTC Kaiser Extended Battery." so it says. I guess we have to wait for the picture to tell what it really is...
Rather than spending money on AAA batteries, might I suggest something from these guys. It will also work with your iPod. I have just ordered mine. http://www.batterygeek.net/IPod_Accessories_s/5.htm

Why AA batterys? Because AA batterys can be had just about ANYwhere. From a quickstop, WalMart, or even rob them out of another device to get your phone back up and running. Plus you can use rechargable batterys too. I use the battery extender from ThePocketSolutions. Have been for over a year and a half. I personally keep the lithium camera batterys in mine. I only use it in a pinch when I don't have access to a charger.
I see your point about rechargeables, guess they would work the same way, and probably save money at the same time.
The Kaiser battery page has been updated. The capacity is 2800mah The picture is kind of blury. The back cover looks to be original but sticks out. hmm 2800mah for $60+shipping or 2700mah on ebay for $31+shipping. c'mon 3200mah.... anyone??

Has anyone tried the 2700mAh battery on Ebay? There seems to be two sellers selling these batteries with cover; one from Hong Kong and one from UK.
I ve just orderer a 2700 ma battery on ebay from hong kong. I bought a 2400 ma battery from them one year ago for my Hermes and I was happy with it. So I can say they are proffesional people. And only 19 dollars!!

Mmm, I'm just afraid these third party batteries explode after a while. I'm interested in ordering one as well but I'm looking for a hard case that will fit with it. Otherwise, using one of those high capacity batteries would mean that I'm left without a proper case. I have an Axim X50v with an extended battery and a fitting PDair case so it shouldn't be impossible to make a fitting one.
Just found an even higher capacity battery for the Tilt at 3000mah. But the back cover made the phone really thick. The back cover does look shiny

Hey Seidio, will you be making a compact stand-alone travel charger for these batteries? I got one from you for my 8525, it had swing-out power prongs and was very high quality, gold contacts and everything. Very much hope you will consider this!
I took the plunge. I just ordered one of these, along with the rubberized holster.

Does this battery have the metal plate and the corner contacts?
I got a 1600 mAh battery on eBay and it works, but it doesn't have that metal contact plate, and I'm concerned because there's got to be a good reason HTC made it that way. I'm guessing it has to do with the massive heat generated when using GPS and Bluetooth together.
I ordered one from them and was shipped yesterday per their email. As soon as I open the box, I will post either way. Has anyone contacted HTC to question this? They probally say that the original is better. I will send them a email now to ask!!
I cannot just do with extra 10 to 20% - I am getting one of these www.gpsforless.co.uk/product_details.php?id=10708 any time ...
1350 mAh + 5400 mAh means I will be able to get by an entire day, and still use GPS and so on. And no need to turn my Kaiser off to change the battery, just plug in and it starts charging, end eventually running off the external battery when the internal has recharged.
Yes, it is another 148 grams and has dimensions of 106 x 40 x 24 mm, but for me it's worth to have that in my bag. In my work I often have no access to power sources I can (or may) use.

Do you really use GPS that much outside of the car? Otherwise, it shouldn't even be an issue with a car charger.
Just received my battery and it doesn't have the metal contacts on the battery. I'm waiting on HTC to email me back as to what are they and how important they are... I'll charge it Tonite to get a full charge on it, and post back 2morrow. It feels a lil funny. On the edge, there's a "space' that goes down the battery.. interesting
Also, it's a lil lighter than the original.
I came across this on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170212826483
It's a solar charger with 6000mAh internal battery. Output voltage is 5.5V and output current 1A. For me it seems to be perfect for our Kaisers.
I doubt you would get even external battery with such capacity for this price (it's £20 including P+P to Slovakia). And this thing even charges itself "on its own".
I will be probably buying one in a few days, but I would like to know if anybody has any experience with or opinions about this (such) device. Please share.
In my understanding it's only a solar-charger not an extended battery.
It would be nice to get an extended battery included the solar charger for Kaiser.
It does have 6000mAh acumulator inside and it can be charged via (included) AC adapter. So in a sense - it is (and can be used as) external battery extender.
Yes, actually it is so, but then it's too heavy to carry.
My wish is to have an extended battery with solar charger on the back cover. I know its just a wish, but would be a nice accessory.
Oh, I see what you are up to. IMO that would be inpractical, since you would have to have your Kaiser laying top-side-up to charge. Something like this might come to your interest (if they would make it for Kaiser, that is): http://gpsforless.co.uk/product_details.php?id=12048 It's an iPhone case that has Solar panel on the front of it.
Yes, something like that. I don't feel unpractical until I can find a smooth surface to lay down kaiser on LCD panel. Before some Nokia model came with such solar panel, I think great solution.

just have an off topic question. What battery are u using now? If some extended, where did u buy it? I cant seem to find a store here in Slovakia that sells batteries for Kaiser.

I currently use only OEM 1350mAh that came with my Kaiser. I have, however, bought this extended 2800mAh battery from ebay, which I am still waiting to arrive. I think ebay is the way to go for things like these - they are very expensive and hard to get in standard shops in Slovakia.
And I am very much considering the external battery w/ solar charger mentioned in my first post. I would use it especially for long (couple of days) bike trips that I will be doing. And £20 price for such thing is extremely good price

Not really (may be 2hrs longer uptime), but I needed a spare battery as well. You also can buy 2000-3000mAh battery, those should be significantly longer uptime, but they come with a wider back-cover.
Okay, thanks for info.
@all:
I have just bought that 6000mAh solar charger. Will inform you in this thread, when I recieve it.
i too have recently ordered this, hope it is as good as it claims to be, or at least nearly as good, hope I don't have to wait too long for it to be shipped from Hong Kong
I have been astonished by its specification (and price), too. If it is going to be as good as it claims then the money spent will be surely worth it.
do you guys know if you can change the internal battery? for that price i skeptical about the quality of the 6000mah battery. can the solar panel charge the phone directly?
i don't know, i am waiting on delivery any time from 3 days til a week away from recieving it, will tell you all about it with pics if i get it before omikr0n
If the battery is totally dead, can it run the phone on solar power alone?
Hi everybody.
plz someone can help me to find a good battery in ebay for my kaiser?
I read about some batteries with high mA capacity but the same performance than the original battery, and some vendors and very bad quality batteries.
so I'm a little bit confused, I want a battery with better performance than the original, but with the same size (of preference) or not too big.
if someone can tell me about a good vendor and his best battery model I would be been thankful with him
PS: plz don't burn me by open this topic so vitiated.
Ps2: sorry about my english
I'm using this battery which is technically twice the capacity here:
http://www.superetrader.co.uk/htc-t...lacement-extended-battery-2700mah-p-3052.html
It comes with a new back casing because as you would expect it is literally twice the width of the original battery so it sticks out at the back. I haven't had any problem with the quality of the battery, but the casing does feel a little bit cheaper than the original.
This one comes with 12 months warranty, which you are unlikely to get on Ebay so bare that in mind when you do your purchase.

ive used an incredibly similar style of battery for an older htc phone. I used a battery with twice the mah but didnt quite get twice the life. dont get me wrong, did the job at increasing the life pretty well and u get used to it sticking out a bit on the back
ps, if yer using a tight carry case then it may not fit in with an upgraded battery

that is exactly my question. in this case, which battery is better in weight/size/mAh/performance?
Im using the 1600 mah from www.seidio.com. Barely adds any weight compaired to OEM. Batt life for me is extended about 4-5 hrs. On OEM, with normal usage, I am down to 30% by 10pm (I charge overnight 12am-5am). With the 1600, I am about 45% at 10pm.
All my products from Seidio have been solid. I would stray away from batteries bought from ebay. I got lame ones several times when buying batts for other phones, cameras and devices.
I forgot to add that the 1600 does not need the extended back cover. It is the same dimensions of the OEM. Also the 1600's weight is, if anything less then the OEM. The metal bars/frame on the OEM battery is not there on the 1600. Some say that the metal bars are for reception. So far I have not noticed any reception decrease nor interference difference.

Why do you think that? Have you compared it to the other extended batteries (including the cheap ones on eBay)? As far as I can see, they're all pretty much the same.
As far as I understand, all the extended batteries have the problem where the Kaiser incorrectly reports the capacity and shuts off when they're half full.
Have you seen this post? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2097942&postcount=48
FWIW:
We have few older htc phones at home (ipaqs, tytn1, tytn2).
I bought extended batteries for ipaqs in the past - original from HP's store, and 2600mAh and 2400mAh "generics" from ebay.
Contrary to what I've been "warned" by some people, there was no problems whatsoever with any of the "generic" batteries - they didn't explode didn't damage my phones, nor didn't malfunction prematurely either.
The 2600mAh made in China lasted me 1yr 3mths before it started to act up, the 2400mAh Taiwan-make still works (its been 1yr 5mths now) - and both are no-brand cheap batteries from ebay, and the HP's expensive extended batt (IIRC it is mere 1800mAh only) still works too (almost 2yrs now).
The only problem I had with the extended batteries were their replacement back covers.
Except for HP's original one (of course) which came with 2 extra covers, the "generics" came with really shoddy and crappy covers, the China-make one was the worst: it was slightly out-of-specs, and it always felt somewhat loose (no, it never felt off nor unlatched itself but it had this "loose" feeling always, you could physically feel it moving a bit up and down when holding the phone, not much - maybe half a millimeter - but it was there).
The other Taiwan make battery's cover was perfect in its dimensions (no "loose" feeling) but then its color was few shades off of the original color... not really important detail (specially when you pay 3x less than for the "original") but I thought I should mention it too.
I have just ordered Mugen extended battery for my TyTN II.
When it arrives - and I won't forget - I'll post here about it.
****, I am really confused now
thanks justdave by the advise.
just get a ebay cheapo
http://cgi.ebay.com/EXTENDED-LIFE-B...ryZ20336QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
this is what I ordered. from this seller. battery cover fits perfectly. no wiggle. battery lasts all day without worry with heavy usage. talk, email push, web, im on it all day.
It does not report the battery meters correctly as with all extended batteries as noted. but this battery at 23 bucks shipped is the so much cheaper and I am betting the exact same cells as a seidio or muggen battery. they are all made in china anyways.
An alternative may be an external USB power pack. I use one of these and top up when my battery is going low. Saves the hassle of a larger phone, and all i need is a standard mini usb cable
http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05.php?t_id=2725&t_mode=des
I am also using the seidio extended life 1600ma battery, i used to charge my phone every night because id be down to like 20% after a day of use, now with the 1600 i go 2 days of use and charge it the 2nd night almost always. Also you retain the original battery cover. I dont know about you guys but this phone is dookie enough as is, i dont need a big battery that requires a new cover and makes my phone another 1/4 inch thicker. seidios a good buy imo, little pricey but ive been happy with its performance.
Extended Batteries
I have an Electrospan by Boxwave @ 2600mah and a Mugen 3000mah. Yes, I think the Mugen might be a little better, but what is interesting is the batteries are exactly the same size although the back covers are different. They do make the device thicker, but it still fits in most horizontal leather cases I have tried. Boxwave also sells an external battery pack that takes 4 AA batteries. The key is to minimize battery drain in the first place. If your data like connects to 3G, battery life goes away quickly vs. edge or GPRS. You can restrict this by using Bandswitch # www.commmgrpro.com (10 euros). Voice calls, screen brightness and push email can also contribute significantly to drain.

Over a year ago I bought a 2400mAh battery directly from Qtek and I'm very satisfied with it.
Although the battery is larger than the original, either the XDA or the battery alone fit in the cradle.
A few months ago I bought a 3600 mA capacity battery from an ebay store because I was sick of having to recharge the battery every day.
With high usage, I'm getting 2 to 3 days out of this battery.
I'm in Australia and the ebay store was in Hong Kong - not sure where you are, but just do a search on ebay if you're interested.

I bought one of the extended batteries from the Hong Kong Shop on ebay... it was very cheap but I thought i'd give it a punt. Turned out great. Battery works fine, comes with the large back cover for the phone, fits in the cradle fine etc....
I get roughly 2-3 days out of it too, it's nice security, but if I've got suit trousers on I like the slim battery
