Hi all can any one help please i wont to remove o2 ative from the extened rom, Can i do that with out loosing my GPRS , i just wont a simple interface when i need to do hard reset , Can any one give me a little advice please, Plus could i make a boot image so it can run from Sd card .
Sorry about this but is there any way of putting my Email conection direct in to the ext rom so if i do hard reset it still there.
PS thanks for your time
If you remove the link from the \windows\startup directory and simply do a soft reset then Active sync wont automatically start, but if you do wont to use it, the link will still be on your start menu.
I recommend using Sprite Backup

I will be unbelivably grateful if anyone could help me solve this problem I have with my XDA II
Basically few weeks ago I did a full backup of my XDA II using MS ActiveSync 3.8. (At this point I should mention my XDA II has been upgraded to WM2003SE although it has been backed up SINCE i did this not before i did this)
Anyway I have a small fault with my XDA II which i can't afford to get repaired right now in that the backup battery doesn't work. So when the backup battery dies i loose everything which is what has just happened.
Now however when i try to do a restore of my device ActiveSync keeps telling me that i have a 'Device Mismatch' and that
"Restore cannot be completed successfully. The selected backup file was created from a different type of mobile device."
Now I have tried using the restore function and that file on two different computers and both give me the same error. Is there any otherway of making ActiveSync....or another program restore this information to my XDA II I dont want to have to spend hours getting everything set up again.
(sensibly I do have a backup of my contacts list I did using XBackup on my SD card so at least ive not lost those!)
well thats possible
ok my device says that all the time cos of setting local setting
as on startup its on USA and i use it on local settings portuguese
will try to find out if you dont have it in that setting on the backup
change to your country and try a restore
tell me if it worked
more expecific
go to setting then system then regional settings
change that for your country and retry restore with a guest account
and if all that failed
use this prog at least you will get some of it restored
It worked!
Ahhh thanks so much for your help!
It worked, guess when I had backed up i'd set the regional settings to English (United Kingdon) as soon as I changed that back it let me do the restore....I would never have thought to check that on my own, very bizzare.
Thank you again for your help, much appreciated!
thats what this is all about
you are wellcome
and now you know can help others too
I hope i am not wrong but i haven't saw any relative topic in our forum, if not please forgive me in advance and point me to the link .After installing 2 programs in my PDA, i "lost" the entire section of the settings pulldown menu and of course all the relative programms/settings you can find there like for examp: ''GPS menu/settings''. Please i am VERY new to PDA's and i am lost, i dont know what to do to bring it back. So i thank you in advance for ANY help or hint you can give me. Always with respect ...GREEK DOM
what two programs did you install? i suspect you have actually deleted the links from your device using file explorer, if you have the only way to return them would be
1. copy the shortcuts from another device
2. Create the shortcuts yourself
3. Hard reset the device and it will restore the settings for you
option 3 is the easiest option for you , being a noob. Make sure you have synced the contacts and data with your pc before doing a hard reset as EVERYTHING will be wiped
dear all
most of the times my phone can not show the contact list . in my recent cals I can find them name so it means th contact list can sun but when I press the contact button it sows me a white page . after 10 to 15 times reset it will be ok .
what is going on to my phone !!!!!! help me guys
Hey,
Which version of the phone are you using ? Which ROM ?
Where are your contacts saved ? In your sim card, or in the phone memory ?
Help people help you : provide relevant information.
Anyway, if it eventually works after a bunch of resets, it has to be a bug / conflict on your device.
my rom is the original one :6.1
and my contacts are on my phone , this problem is gong to choose one : kill myself or kill my ohone .
maybe a hard reset can help but I dont know how to make it . please help guys
if you hard reset your phone you're going to erase everything stored on your device (including your contacts).
i've seen this problem on my old elf with a 6.1 rom, and the solution for that device (in my case) was to kill the contacts process, soft reset, launch contacts again.
or you could try syncing everything to your PC first, then hard reset and sync everything back. be careful about conflict resolution options on which overrides which.
thank you , but I dont know how can make the soft reset or hard reset . please let me know the way .
I have backup of my contacts .
Hi all, a happy 2015 may everyone be healthy and happy.
I have an urgent issue here. My S3 has contracted the infamous "stuck in safe mode with volume down button not working" issue.
I would like to attempt a factory reset via the phone menu, however, i have important whatsapp messages i need to keep. Currently i use the backup option on Kies 3. May i know if its in depth enough to cover that? After a reset would choosing "Restore" from the Kies 3 menu put every single thing back into my phone like how it is? Including my alarms?
Thank you kindly
Use the backup and restore options of whatsapp: menu/settings/chat settings/backup
Or you can send them to your email.

Hi mate ,
I guess you mean S4 , if you are in safe mode check this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2392632
also check this ( you must be rooted)
open file "factorymode" in efs/factoryApp directory, if it says "off", change to "on" it must say YES to turn it off, save the file
For whatsapp go settings / chat settings / backup conversations then just save the whole whatsapp folder in your internal SD , copy it back and when you install whatsapp again it will detect it and it will ask you if you want to restore it , make sure that both version of whatsapp are the same or at least that the new one you are installing is not older than the one you had
Thanks for the reply bro, mine is a S3 not S4. Do you have any idea if factory resetting will restore the safe mode with volume down button not working issue? And will kies3 backup restore be complete enough ?

Is this possible?
--> someone is posting in a S4 Q&A thread a total sensless title
Is this possible?
--> he also knows that his question doesn't belong there because he owns a S3
Is this possible?
--> I gave him an reply: Yes, a kies restore would be enough!
Is this possible?
--> he is born in 2005
