im a novice with this "smartphone fever". i had a nokia 7500 for 4 years so... ya know XD.
Im posting this, cuz i really want to update my rom version. I've been reading the threads on several foruums 'bout this topic, but i didn't find any answer. So, i fear to lose the operator's services, o sim incompatibility if the update go wrong.
There isn't any posible legal or official update cuz in this hellhole country (venezuela) the technology & updates on this devices are very few, (most are in blackberry platforms). I know there's an update to WM6.5 in some countries, but here is not the case. so, chaging my rom version will affect the operator configuration o the sim configuration?

Sorry for disturbing but I really need a firmware pack for a prototype X10.
I received it for testing, and it seems someone flashed a generic stock firmware on it.
The result - a beautiful x10 with no network access, it can not register to any network provider.
If anyone has such a firmware, please PM me.

Maybe you need to enter the network setting (aka APN)? If that is not the problem then go here.

no, that is not the case.
Thephone is a prototype, and it can not use the network at all with shiped rom - meaning no voice at all - it acts as if it was in "airplane mode".

I´ve flashed such a prototype (exactly the same type/data as yours) with a DE/CH generic software version (CDF/SI: 1235-7836). Only limitation of the prototype board is that Bluetooth is not implemented and speaker is weak.

Thank you, flashed this firmware but it seems that the problem was not caused by the firmware after all.
The phone still asks for "sim network unlock pin" - the phone is not network locked, being a prototype. The other X10's we received are just fine, this one just refuses to use any sim card.
Any other ideas? I'm running out of them.

I'm sitting here looking at the lovely X10i prototype that a major-manager at SE gave me some time back. It irritates me hugely not to be able to upgrade it to 2.1 and so I was wondering if this is what You have done/are attempting? If so, have You been successful?

Hi.
I have 2.1 on it, but this huge problem about not being able to use any SIM card in it. I really don't know if it originally came with 2.1, because someone else had it for testing before me, and I have no info about what happened to it so far.

Well my phone, with a higher SI-number than Your's (if that has any relevance to age) was certainly delivered with the 1.6 it is still running. So probably someone has done a manual upgrade of some sort on the phone to get it to 2.1. Have You spoken with SE support? I had a X10 Mini Pro that they actually took pity on and upgraded for me. It probably helped that I live in Stockholm and had an SE lab here close-by... No such service-mindednes this time round, though....

well my phone has that sometimes as well.. i dont know why, but just keep rebooting maybe it will go away it does atleast for me, and no i dont got a dev phone
oh and try a diff simcard, maybe its simlocked for provider?

i've tried this firmware with latest flashtool , but now fone is bricked only give buzz and green light. so is there any tested firmware for Prototype AP1, kindly post a link or upload it some server like mediafire.

i have the problem with my prototype that the touch screen doesnt work it did work on teh android 1.6 that i had 1st but i cant find any android 1.6 firmware for the x10i i just wanna downgrade it so i can use my phone i have this problem already 5months and i searched the whole internet so if anyone has a WORKING link for a 1.6 version it will be great but i don't expect many anymore tried lots of things btw might it be the touch screen software? can i flash that ?

@Pierre. What country are you in, what mobile carrier do you use and what's the sales code on your phone? No one will be able to give you ROM version advice without these basic details.
ROM and firmware are the same thing, people use the names interchangably. The ROM/firmware is the usually seen as the PDA version thats on the device as this is the Android operating system. The devices also have modem software and the CSC (customer specific customisations). The modem code contains drivers for the modem (ie data and voice), WiFi and (afaik) bluetooth. The CSC contains vendor specific applications and mobile network connection details (eg. APN settings).
Have a look around in this forum and in the Samsung Galaxy S forums for tutorials / advice etc and enjoy your Tab!!

Since eap-sim works with rom provided by free mobile, a french provider, can anyone copy the changes they made (I guess you can use "their" binaries on the nexus).

I found this link in another tread that I don't remember:

There is no nexus 4 rom in there since freemobile don't sell it. But there are other roms.
Maybe the LG optimus L9's freemobile rom can help us

Tried yesterday on my Nexus 4 - Stock 4.3 and it's NOT working. It's strange because I read some eap-sim related new code in the changelog.
I am not new to this forum but I had never written anything here because I always look to the forum for answers not to ask anything that was not resolved.
do not live in usa but I have a sm-n910a and my question is:
which are compatible ROM for this device if I dont want a AT&T rom because i dont use several apps comes with at&t roms
