I find it rather disturbing that on the new Telfort.nl site (that replaced the o2.nl site as of today or a little earlier) I cannot find any real support for the XDA. I wanted to check is there's a newer radio stack upgrade than 4.21, but all you can find is stuff about XDA configuration.
Does anyone know where to find the most current ROM upgrades?
Or can someone confirm that the ROM upgrades from O2 UK and O2 IE are the same?
Apologies for this rather n00bie question.
how did you guys do it, ive got the latest from both manufacturers and everytime i run it, it moans about country codes, on my tmobile mda compact, i just want away from tmobile and the latest rom arghhhhhhh

Apologies if this has already been posted somewhere, I did look and couldnt find anything that helped.
I have the above device, and it has Windows Mobile V5 installed. if I managed to get this unlocked (the sim lock) by t-mobile, is there a way I can upgrade to Windows Mobile 6?.
Do I have to get it unlocked to be able to upgrade to WM6 ?
and whats the advantages of WM6 over 5? and will tom tom navigator still work on WM6?
Sorry, so many questions..
Try search it may be useful... all the answers are on this forum.

I'm not sure if you have read my posting properly.. I did say
"Apologies if this has already been posted somewhere, I did look and couldnt find anything that helped."
and have searched again, and still didnt find the answer, so if someone could please help me I would be very grateful.
No need to SIM unlock. Just Read up on USPL, it's a CID unlocked state you need, which is different.
Once you've run USPL successfully, you can flash any WM6 ROM of your choosing.
WM6 is faster than WM5, prettier, and generally an upgraded feel, and yes Tomtom still works.
many thanks, I'll have a look into USPL, and then its just where to find a WM6 rom for T-Mobile UK.
Just been on the T-Mobile website and found this.

Can someone try it my Magician is dead.
Tried but failed
Thanx for the link.
I've tried to run the upgrade, but I get a "country ID error", maybe due to the point that I own a German MDA Compact. Is there a way to hange the country ID?
Same here.
Australian O2 XDA II mini.
Thats just the wm2003se rom. I've tried it, the guys at t-mobile made a mistake on their site renaming it wm5, if you search there's a similar thread here.
Ahh well, wishfull thinking ey, i was getting all giddy! lol
Hello, I am a rookie, let us a lot of attention
Hey guys!
I hope this is the right subforum to ask this question, and i hope i wasn't to stupid to use the search engine
I'm thinking about purchasing a HD2/Leo from UK and i've found some offers of 400 Pounds, but the problem is: These phones are Branded and one offer says "Simlocked"
First of all i'd install a ROM in german (original HTC), would this also disable the branding and the simlock? (i'd say yes, but hey, you're the pro's )
While i wrote this i read that it works with a vodafone software branding, but i'd like to have a confirmation from you
Best Regards
V.
€dit: Does someone know if Leos have only software brandings or do they already have something like "T-Mobile" on the front?
Please please use the "search" function. This question has been asked numerous times.
Thanks
simlock is only unlockable by getting a code from either provider or from various unlock websites.(varied results) Currently there are no free ways to do this.
To test if your rom is also locked, try putting your serial into the HTC website, if it fails then the rom is locked to the provider.
However, simlock does not prevent you using different roms. Find your original rom as a backup, then use HSPL to allow you to flash whatever rom you like via activesync.
Have a read of this and this and this too.
Start your search for your original rom here
hey
thanks for your replies
@Ibb, sorry, i guess i didn't search hard enough, i found something after that but i was short in time.
@samsa:
thank you too but i already read that this won't disable the simlock which is important to me due i'm not a t-mobile user. But i already looked up at ebay.co.uk, there are very nice offers too
thank you for your replies
