landscape mode which software for XDAII/MDAII?

Hi,
Is there anybody using software that works ok to make the MDAII(PPC 2003) display landscape mode?
Found a software called dot pocket2003 using google hope this helps
Hi,
Thanks that is the software that I tried to install and my MDAII completely froze, had to hard-reset to get it to work...
The question is if it was a coinsidence or if there really is a problem.
It would be great if somebody has any experience running this or other landscape apps on a XDAII/MDAII!

I've been using Nyditot Virtual Display for quite a while with no problems.
Make sure you get the latest version as it fixes a few compatibility issues with PPC2003.
Virtual display isnt that very stable and messes up the start menu.
Id suggest waiting for the Windows Mobile 2003 Second edition.
I agree. I use Virtual Display now because it's basically the only app. I found out there that works within reason. However, it's bit buggy and I don't like how it changes modes and messes up the display from time-to-time, etc. It amazes me MS hasn't included that as a standard feature in WM2003. You would think that was one issue that they got a lot of requests/complaints on. In addition, there are other apps. - like PocketMusic - that flip the screen back and forth with ease so you'd think it would be fairly simple to add that functionality to the core OS.
I say, Wait for WM2003 SE
we will never know if they are going to make SE for xda1 and 2
it dont have a lcd which is that res anyway
and ipaq users have to pay the big bucks to upgrade theirs
i doubt that the phone company's will keep upgrading their devices with new versions of mw200X
hopefully they will
The problem with Windows Mobile 2003 SE is that
1. there is no guarantee that Microsoft is going to release one for 2nd generation PPCPE
2. No guarantee the O2, MDA, T-Mobile, etc. will support it (for current models that is...)
Poch
Have some faith there... WM2003SE will come for XDA II
http://www.brighthand.com/article/Overview_of_Windows_Mobile_2003_SE?site=PPC
about whats new in SE
VGA of cause will mean nothing to any of the current HTC devices
With all the pictures from WM2003SE... I have not seen a single picture where the screen is set to landscpae mode with the vitual keyboard in use. I am concerned that it will lead to a more or less invisble content. Can anyone post one for me please?
http://www.ppcw.net/index.php?itemid=1849
here are some pictures of landscape mode with the keyboard
Thanks, mate
Oops, as I feared... hardly any area to display the screen content anymore... and: how silly is it that they just leave heaps of room right and left of the keyboard unused...

Click to collapse
I tested NVD for a while and I must say that it works well, never found any relevant bug.
While there are some in the SRS application, at the moment.
So, if you have some spare time to spend you can try srs, moreover it is free.
While NVD, from my point of view, is a bit more "install & go", but surely not cheap.
IMHO
I use NVD on the XDAII (make sure you get the latest version as there were issues with PPC2003).
It has an advantage over straightforward screen rotation in that it can also scale the display - I often use Terminal Services in 480x360 landscape, and it's pretty readable..
Turn Your PPC WM 2003 Device Into Landscape Mode
Here if ya need it, turn on your PPC WM 2003 device into landscape mode. Tested on my old hp iPAQ h6365, work great !

landscape and portrait mode

is there anyway to activate these using some kind of application i could install, instead of having to install windows mobile 2003 se itself.
right now the thread about it is right under you post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=12481
and there are also 3th party softwares which let you but then you need to do a softreset every time you want to change

Agenda Fusion / Pocket Informant Problem!

This is for users with and English XDA II, and installed chinese input methods.
I have been using my penpower for over 1 year now, the system seems very smooth. A few days ago, i installed agenda fusion into my machine, and then penpower starts acting funny. Sometimes it displayed "cannot load database". Then i have to soft reset the machine for it to work again. I thought maybe agenda fusion is not compatible with penpower. I hard reset my machine, and installed pocket informant with penpower. The same problem arises. I then gave up. Hard reset my machine yet again. installed only penpower. What do you know, the problem did not go away still!!!
Pls can someone help?? why is my o2 behaving the way it is?? What should i do now to use my penpower properly again??

What the hell have I got ?

I know this may sound stupid, but what's the difference between a smartphone & PocketPC ? I've got a v1640 and it boots up with windows mobile 5.0 and the information says it's running pocket PC. But....on some web sites they call it a smartphone and when I install software for smartphones, sometimes they run and other times it says "up yours". And then I also get the same problems when running software for Pocket PC's, does it have to be PocketPC 2002, 2003 or windows mobile 5.0 to run properly. Funny thing is on Microsoft's site they call it a smartphone and vodaphone call it a smartphone but when I tried to run the tweaks2k2 program for smartphones, guess what ? It said "Get Stuffed, this program only runs on smartphones and mine is running PocketPC ! (You know what I mean). So the question is do i install software for a smartphone or PocketPC ?
You got a "Windows Mobile PocketPc(PPC)" Running "Windows Mobile 5.0(WM5)"
Use only programs that have support for PPC, and WM5
That some call it a SmartPhone, just shows how smart they are ;-)
Until the platforms have merged you can use a simple rule of thumb
Pocket PC = touch screen and stylus
Smartphone = no touch screen, no stylus.
