storage card selection disappeared in camera mode

I'm new to this forum.
Got a problem - I unlocked the extended rom in my 818 pro. Now I've got 10m space which is called Extended Rom 2.
The problem : only two choices left in my Camera storage mode - Main memory and Extended Rom. The storage card simply disappeared in the pull down menu.
Appreciate if any experts in this forum come in to help.
Thanks.
Re-hide your Extended Rom (by uninstalling the Unlocker).
For some reason (probably becuase the original programmer assumed that you would only have Main Memory and Storage Card) the drop-down will only display 2 options.
BTW, this has been answered atleast 3 times that I have seen.
Thanks for your help. I manage to hide the rom again by editing the registry.
Sorry for asking duplicated questions. As I'm new to the forum, got a bit confused with the forum catagories. Will perform a search next time before asking. Thanks.

ROM Dumping

Heya,
A while back, someone released a tool on here which autoran from an SD card and would dump the ROM to the card in the background and without user intervention, problem is I can't find it now and can't remember what it was called or even who produced it. (Let's face it, it's a cool idea and would make it easier for flashing-noobs (ie me) to extract our ROMs, cause I won't be flashing without a backup).
Can anyone give me a link or otherwise help me find it by telling me what it was called?
Thanks in advance
No Idea, but I suspect that if someone did make it, he would most likely call it "Grab_It", be named Buzz_Lightyear and start a thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=238945
But hey, I could be wrong...
Spot on
I had been looking for various combinations of the words "Silent Autorun ROM Dumping SD Memory Card" (amongst other things), but never "invisible". Doh!
And someone posted in it 10 minutes ago, if I had waited I'd have found it without having to ask.
Time to install it on a spare memory card . Thanks again

update phone from the phone.

How do you update my phone directly from my phone, can't find an update icon like windows update has. do I have to go through SE's homepage? I'm a little lost, hehe.
Thanks in advance.
Dont really think this is the right forum to ask that question.
My tip is; read the manual.
and why wouldn't this forum be the right place? I'm just asking a simple question about FW update cause SEUS doesn't work on mac, and because I have a mac, I can't update my X1.
Just look around the forum!
This was answered 1000 times actually.
Download the ROM you want to update to. Rename it to kovsimg.nbh, copy it to the memory card and load ur phone in boot mode.
It'll detect it and update your X1.

[Q] How to programmatically detect how OEM named AutoRun.exe?

Hi gurus,
today I've a CE5 specific question and I hope someone can deliver the solution: How to programmatically detect how OEM named AutoRun.exe and where this is to be searched for?
For explanation: CE by default runs SD\2577\Autorun.exe, if OEM didn't cancel this, i.e. replaced this with an own solution, as for example
Medion: SD\GoCE.exe
Becker: SD\AutoRun.exe
Binatone: SD\shell.ini
HP iPAQ: SD\CElauncher.exe
Insignia CNV*: SD\CNAV\CNAVClient.exe
Insignia NS-NAV*: SD\WLNANavi480_272\WLNA_Navi.exe
Magellan Crossover: SD\micManager.exe
Navigon: SD\AutoRunCE.exe and/or SD\UpdateMe.exe
Nextar: SD\shell.ini
Rightway: SD\CoPilot.exe
Route 66: SD\Route 66\R66Navigate8.exe
ViaMichellin: SD\InstallSD\InstallSD.exe
Wayteq: SD\Mobilenavigator\Mobilenavigator.exe
In another thread I read, this should be to found in registry
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm]
"AutoRun"=
"AutorunCFG"=
"AutoRunType"=dword:0
but those entries doesn't exist at my device.
Thank you all in advance.
First thing that pops into mind is - what is Your purpose? Isn't the autorun.exe working or is there something else?
Other than that, if You already haven't tried that, You could try to create those keys and values in registry and see if it works.
And since this is a very specific issue, there is surely someone from here - http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=136798&whichpage=1 - who might have come to learn that information as it is quite crucial to them.
As I am not a programmer, I don't know any straight answer to Your question, but I hope I could help.
Thanks for your reply.
The forum you linked to, I came from. One more time: the constant I'm searching for must be located in device's ROM, hence my question goes to the programmers/hackers who know of ROM contents in detail.
@aiiro
I strongly believe jwoegerbauer's question goes exactly in the direction you linked too. For a proper installation of Miopocket on Storage Card, one must know how the name of the .exe is, which runs automatically after Reset when Storage Card is plugged in. Compareable to AutoRun.exe in folder 2577 on SD of Windows Mobile devices. But while AutoRun.exe in WM is a standard, for WinCE it is not. Most Manufactorers rename the Microsoft default AutoRun.exe to something else (see jw's examples) and they don't publish it. Means if you don't know, you can forget about SD installation of Miopocket.
Somewhere on the device this name must be stored and the question is how to find.

Reinstall ROM WP7 on HD2

Reinstall the rom wp7 hd2
I will reinstall a new ROM on my HD2 WP7 and have some questions. The serial to enable informed market place will need to install again, I still have a numerical sequence but it validates some nformation. I want to install it seems that this rom fixed the problem of multi-touch but I fear no longer access the market place. Does anyone have this information.
Sorry for my english
You can use your activation code multiple times - just enter it like the first time.
But, don´t expect too much about the multi-touch improvements...
one more thing is, when i reinstalled wp7 rom,
it wont detect my old memory card partition...
does it required to format it again ???
I wont be happy to loose data in it
Please use the DEV section for DEV threads.

Click to collapse
Same opinion here, I called yesterday even the Zune support helpline for that reason, they said that it is no problem you can activate it indeed multiple times
thread moved to Q&A
