in the eten m600's latest rom, the user is able to switch the output of the sound from the main speakers to the the phone speakers (the one where you put your ear to when taking a call) when using skype.
is this arrangement possible with the universal? so that i could take a skype call, trasnfer the sound to the phone's speakers (instead of the front 2 speakers) and then use my universal just like a normal phone while talking on skype?
any programmers or developers can think of such a solution? it would be really cool.
is there hack or any way to make the audio from skype go through front speaker on vogue
Front speaker??Am I missing something,what front speaker?
i think he means the ear piece, i guess right now its going through the speaker phone
headset works
Not sure if this has been covered here or not but here it is on another forum on xda:

Start tivi, then run skype. All sound comes from the front speaker, not the back. Make sure to turn off tivi when you're done with skype, as ALL sounds will be rerouted to the front speaker, not just voice calls.

Not for me it doesn't it will only go through the speaker and I cannot find anyway to get it to go to my bluetooth headset. Is your headset bluetooth or is it wired?
I've been able to use my Jabra 8040 (mono earpiece, but A2DP-compliant) headset with Skype just fine . . . whenever my connection's decent enough anyway.
Is there any way to get the speaker phone active when 3.5mm audio jack is connected? I use an FMtransmitter connected to the 3.5mm to get the sound out in my car speakers, works fine with music and tomtom sound... but when i get a phone call i would like to answer with speaker phone preferable with the sound still from my car speakers, but with the phone mic activated.
It seams like the phone mic is deactivated when 3.5mm is connected.

I don't know the answer to that specific question, but...
I have a very similar set up to you (though the 3.5mm jack runs directly to my car stereo), using PocketMusic and TomTom.
The in-built mic is active in this case - If I get an incoming call, or make an outgoing call, the audio out is routed through my car stereo (i.e. I hear the other person over the car speakers). The mic still picks up my voice and I can have a conversion. I'm using a regular 3.5mm->double RCA lead (i.e. there is no mic present on the audio jack).
Hi, I noticed that while I'm on my headphone (regular earphone without mic) listening to music,
the microphone is disabled, (the built in microphone on the bottom of the phone)
for example on iphone if regular earphone is plugged in, when calling someone or on incoming calls, the person can talk via builtin mic.
is there a way to activate the mic?
edit,
looks like known issue among all androids

Hi friends,
I would realy like some help for an issue that i have with my omnia 2..
ok, so basically i was making a setup in my car so i could listen to music
by connecting a 3.5 male to male cable (which i've made myself so it would be as short as i need it to be) to the AUX input in my car stereo system.
The music sounds sweet.
I also liked the fact that i could hear the person i was talking to on my car's stereo system, and obviously the music stops when you get a call so it's very nice..
now I know that the omnia 2 has 2 microphones (which is amazing!)
one for a regular conversation, and another one which is way more sensitive
for the use while you're using it as a speakerphone.
The problem is:
when i connect the 3.5 plug in the phone it lets me select:
1. Headphones
2. Headset
3. TV-out
when i select either of 1 or 2, the phone uses the regular mic and not the speaker mic.
i can hear the sound of my speakers in the car
(or maybe i will even hear it the same with headphones)
but i can't have the other side hear me as well as he will with the speaker phone.
I know it uses the regular mic because when i disconnect the 3.5 plug from the phone and put it on speaker, the other side hears me much much better.
(phone and me stay at the same place at the entire test)
my question is:
is there anyway to change (perhaps in the registry?) something
for the phone to use the speaker mic while anything is connected to it's 3.5 jack?
any help will be much much much appreciated.
Thanks a lot!
Roy.
Are you sure the mic doesn't work when you select "headphones"? When I use it like you do in the car, it works perfectly. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised it did, as opposed to Omnia I.
"Headset" means the original headphones with the mic on the cord, while "headphones" means regular headphones, and then it automatically uses the built-in mic.
If it doesn't work like this, take it to the service if you're still within the warranty.
