Totally new at this game! Just bought XDA2 and been given tomtom bluetooth GPS (no instructions) how do I bond it with the xda, it asks for device pin, but you can not input anything in to the GPS (and I dont know the pin if it does need one)
Thanks in advance.
to my knowledge pin of tomtom gps receiver is 0000 which you have to enter on your xdaII, not on the receiver.
i don't know which ROM you have but if it is less than 1.72 you probably have to install bluetooth tools to be able to assign serial port. not for the bonding, but for being able to communicate.

but try it first without
If you are using the TomTom software it will configure all the ports for you automatically. Yes the GPS reciever is 0000. It asks for this Number when you bond "New" device.
Good luck

Thanks guys. I did need the down load.
It now connects happily.
On my ppc you have to uncheck the accept incoming beams IR option in the connections tab in control panel. On mine these frees up the com port and then tomtom allows you to select the correct one.
Might be the same on yours
Cingular 8125 & TomTom GO 910
Is there anyway to pair these two for use of the GPS features? They find each other as far as the TomTom acting as a Bluetooth headset (albeit a bad speakerphone), but it would be nice to have the GPS functions on the phone as well.

You have to pair the gps receiver with the phone first
from the jam today screen click on the bluetooth icon then go to Devices choose new let the phone find the gps receiver click on it enter the gps passkey
then configure your navigation software
Greetings,
I have tomtom navigator installed on my XDA II and i have polstar bluetooth GPS, BT 111, they both work fine and excellent, but the problem is, the next time when i switch on the bluetooth gps and tomtom on my xda, tomtom doesnt detect the gps itself, I mean i have to delete the bluetooth entry in the bt manager of xda and i have to add this new bt connection and all the bt setup again, why is it, can someone please tell me the solution to it, i mean like is it possible tht everytime i switch on tomtom on xda it automatically detects my bt gps receivers.
Plz, thanks in advance
cheers
Hy guys,
I have a QYEC WIZA 200 and I have installed a TTN 5.21 with WM5.
I have paired the GPS BT into the BT connection and put it on the COM6 with secure connection. It looks it is paired.
Once I go on the TTN menu I select other BT GPS then choice com6 but no connection. It looks that TTN5 doesn't see the GPS.
Any idea how to solve the problem ???
Many thanks
MIKA

What's the name of your BT GPS - when it has been identified?
It MUST end in GPS...
Charlie Grillo
I use BT-GPS 338 with sirf star III. It is strange that the PDA but a question mark ? before the name of GPS BT. It is like it cannot understand what kind of device it is.
The GPS BT instruction says to set up the connection speed to 38400 but I do not know where to set up this.....
Thanks
Hi guys, i installed tomtom 7 on my xda mini s and bought a HOLOX bluetooth gps reciever. I paired my xda and gps and ticked the serial port. It would not allow me to create a com port for this device (cant create a com port for any device) It shows COM6 and COM7 but i get the error ' the com port could not be created, please check your settings and try again'. When i open tomtom and try to find the gps on the serial port it doesnt work. The thing is, when i pair it connects to pair then disconnects and i dont know how to connect them again, this bluetooth stack is rubbish in my opinion and i cant find a replacement.
Any help/suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks
hooking the holux
I have a holux and same device.
the only thing you need to know is which virtual COM is the holux device using.
You will be giving this info when you pair the holux (bluetooth).
Fairly simple (at least in my case)
Resolved
Hi, thanks for your post.
I resolved this matter by installing the widcomm bt stack and changing certain registry settings.
It now connects when i switch the holux device on.
Thanks again people
