Problem to change non-transparent to transparent mode - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

I use two Qtek s100 (internal GSM-modems) devices in GSM data communiation.
I need to perform some operations during data communication:
1. Connect devices in non-transparent mode;
2. Xmit some critical data;
3. Move modems to transparent mode;
4. Xmit noncritical data.
I use RIL_SetBearerServiceOptions routine to change modem mode.
And RIL level always return RIL_RESULT_OK on my RIL_SetBearerServiceOptions calls.
But after this communication executes in non-transparent mode.
What is the problem to change data communication mode by using RIL level?

Methods/Tools for Resolving WM Lock-ups

I am seeking information on any methods or tools that exist to help in resolving/debugging OS freezes/crashes/lock-ups.
Is there:
- any way to enable a type of system log, or to locally capture the kernel messages (usually visible via KITL)?
- any way to drop the phone into KITL mode upon a lock-up?
- any tool that will activate when a system exception/error/etc. occurs?

samsung i900 omnia, csd internet not working

It seems all operation with cellular data modem is not woking on this phone:
csd internet is not working,
c++ function RasDial, RIL_dial not working,
applications that can work with modem - vxhpc, mtoken (www.choung.net) is not working
Is anybody successfully use any from this list?
I have try all of this on two i900 with different software versions
Most carriers to date have chosen not to enable CSD functionality while connected to 3G services.
try set your network BAND selector manually to “GSM” by using the following procedure:
For Windows Mobile Communicators (Pocket PC):
1. Select “Start” -> Settings.
2. Under the “Personal” tab select “Phone”.
3. Select the “Band” tab.
4. Under “Select your network type.” Choose “GSM”.
5. Choose “ok” to exit the settings page.

3G Dongle

I have found a post on the forum Folio100 about using 3G modems. I could not try because my modem is ZTE and Huawei operate only. The file would have to remove the boot image and perhaps work if someone has a Huawei could comment.

AS reported on MoDaCo forums there's a way to make Mobile Broadband dongles work.
C&P from there:
Details:
1. Installed theMoDaCo Custom ROM for the Advent Vega r7
2. Enabled USB Host Mode (USB Mode --> USB Host (required reboot)
3. Inserted the Huawei E220 USB Dongle (mine was a t-mobile PAYG dongle)
4. If USB Host Mode is enabled, the dongle will flash green, then blue
*Interesting bit*:
5a. Go to Settings --> Accounts & Sync --> Add Account
5b. Select 'Google'
5b. Hold down the back button (the physical button) for 2-5 seconds until a 'Wireless Settings' icon appears at the bottom of the screen
5c. Select 'Wireless Settings'
5d. Select '3G Service enabled'
5e. Select 'Data enabled'
5f. Select 'Network Operators' ... You may need to wait 10-30 seconds as the Vega configures itself to read the USB dongle, makes a connection and identifies what providers are available... the light on my USB Dongle went solid blue at this point (if I recall correctly)
5g. Choose your network operator
5h. The Vega notification bar will change to show a "3G" icon, which is animated to show upload/download action; and a signal strenth icon.
6. Ensure WiFi is off and surf to a website... In my case, I got the t-mobile top-up page, which showed me my dongle's phone number and the fact that I had no further credit on my account.
My huawei K4505 doesn't work... yet.
Maybe just maybe it's because it intends to start the cd-rom.
I haven't found the AT commands to disable cd-rom for this dongle yet, but this topic may help to others.

You must disable the CD-ROM drive with AT^U2DIAG=0 on the modem before you can use it on the folio.
Connect your USB modem to your PC, find out the COM port used by the modem and then connect via putty to the COM port and send AT^U2DIAG=0.
Here is a tutorial how to send AT commands using Windows: http://3g-modem.wetpaint.com/page/ex...+under+Windows
Also disable the PIN check on your SIM card.
not working
not working for me. huawei e220 i´m on POV 10,2 with modaco vega rom r09.
everithing done as written above...
i have signal but no 3g symbol and internet is not working...
any suggestions?

am I right, that that zip from lin above is not needed for vega?
I tried to flash it (with cw), but there was an error.
You need the last kernel in 1.08 or 1.09. It is not working in other stock roms.
The file of the first post is not needed.
