http://www.mathiaspohl.de/mda
Release Number is 4.00.33
Taken from a brandnew MDA I with WM 2003.
This release also includes the Wireless Modem feature.
regards,
Very nice of you to share it, but the link didn't work for me. Only empty page with broken Image....
Regards
Stefan
the link is ok (now?) ! i just downloaded the file...
trying to update now...
Jabba
the url dont work with browsers like opera
but it works ok with IE6
it says incorrect filesize when using OSImageTool to upload ?!?!?
Try XDArit
This is only the CE part of the device, not the bootloader.
Try to create a SD image using XRArit. Working fine for me.
regards,
PS: Aaaaaaaah, yes, sorry for the IE 6 based page. The site was not designed to share files, just pic's for some friends.
got it to work....
start OSImageTool with -f in commandline.. (no filesize checking)
Yeah WM2003 german, thats what i waited for... so no need for XDA2!
Thanks a lot !!!!
Jabba
Can I use English language instead of German language with this ROM backup? Thanks.
....no.
No, there is now way to switch from one language to another.
This file is just a backup of the current production release, shipped with the MDA 1 in Germany.
Last week, T Mobile announced (press release) the availability of a "public WM 2003 update" for the MDA 1 for the middle of december.
regards,
can you please tell us if you have an updated MSN and other improvements ?
any SD erasure ... ?
thanks
decebal
Anyone other get it working?
OSImagetool did not accept option -f for me.
Hope for more hints...
Regards
Stefan
Edit:
Sorry, was my fault. Didn´t know that there was an newer version of the OSImagetool. Now i was able to copy it to my SD-Card.
Just in the moment i´m flashing my device (Hopping not to have to call the insurance after... ;-))
Hi,
just wanted to tell that it's working fine on my MDA1 (32MB)
Now I'm just waiting for a kitchen-update which can be used with a german ROM
Bye for now,
Dennis.
TOMTOM Navigator 2 Version 2.24
TomTom Navigator does not work with this ROM
Back to PC 2002
Or has somebody an success Story?
CU Jason0815
Don't know if you're using TomTom or TomTom2, TomTom2 is working fine with mine
The only thing im mad about is the illumination of the MDA, it's not working again, and for making it work again I have to reset the MDA, sometimes it needs a hard-reset becaus the MDA is hanging up while booting after a softreset...
Anybody's got an idea of whats going wrong?
Bye,
Dennis.

Hello Dennis.
Which Software do you want to have in your ROM.
Played a little bit with the kitchen and teh rom, and it looks quite good.
At the moment there a just a view problems with some programs added in the kitchen. (For example PocketNav created a shortcut in Startup and not in Autostart....)
Maybe I'm able to cook you your own ROM....
Best way will be sending me a PM...
Regards
Stefan

Where can I found this newer version?
On xda-developers.com is only a version without the parameter -f.
Thanks
Take a look at here

I use TomTom2 no sucess, but i had no problems with
the light! Tomtom is showing the circle (PowerPc Sandwatch)
infinitly. Only Software Reset helps.
I tried TomTom2 Version 2.24 with GPS 2.05

Maybe you have to upgrade your GPS-Version. Latest is 2.08. Don't know exactly which version supports WM2003

Jason,
there is no need to downgrade to 2002.
Just upgrade to TomTom 2.04 adn GPS 2.08, format your SD Card and re-install the maps. Try to start without any additional POI files.
This should fix your problem.
After this, the TT 2 was running fine on my MDA with this ROM.
regards,
can any budy post the wm5 download link
there is no 2005 for wallaby
why it is impossible to have WM5 in XDAI?
XDAI have at least 32mb ROM, too. Why? :?
Somebody tell me plz?
roms are made 100% for a device
it's not like windows on a pc which have all known drivers
roms have only the stuff made for the device
so unless a wm2005 rom is leaked for wallay
like they were for himalaya and blue angel
it's impossible
wallaby's memory is to less for wm2005. there must be at least 64mb of flash-rom better 128mb like the new ppc's and smartphones have. and what rudegar said is still true: no wm2005 wallaby specific hardware drivers available = no wallaby wm2005 rom.

Prophets WM 2005 to 2003
My understanding is that you can not downgrade prophet to WM 2003. I wanted to do the same. Just because WM 2005 is to slow comparing to Magician. Of cource its processors fault as well, but I wanted to see if it was going to be faster with previous WM.. I was tolled its not possible.. Different structure of the phone.

You can try that to sync over Wifi : http://www.airscanner.com/downloads/airfix/airfix.html
I never tried it but I assume it would be safer than a downgrade
If it works give us feedback!
Another work-around is register at http://live.mail2web.com/ for a free account.
Then assisgn this server also in Active Sync on your PC and PocketPC. After this you can sync via wifi with your pocketpc to mail2web.
Good luck!
Isn't bluetooth sync working for you?
I'm thinking the hole evening why somebody bought a new WM5 device if he want a WM2003 one? Why prophet not magician?

Check the WM6 forum under Hermes. You should be able to find what you are looking for there.
