The traditional Chinese ROM is no longer found in the above servers. Some selfish people must have deleted it after they got the ROM, and perhaps, they use it for their own business and ask money !!!
Can someone repost the ROM and stop these selfish people?

The upgrade method is exactly same as t-mobile MDA compact german to english. But remember to replace the first 416 bytes of dopod-1.03_CHT.bin from your original rom by Hex editor. :lol:

The file size of the traditional rom is only 119M. I followed exact procedures mentioned but still get the same error. I wonder if the Chinese Rom is the corect/full version...
It is a full version including radio rom and ext_rom. I have no problem to refresh my rom to traditional chinese by replacing the first 416 bytes of dopod rom. :?:

There IS a folder in the ftp " XDA II Mini ROM" but it just has a 53k rar file. Strange!!!.
Anyway, i have a original O2 Mini Asia ROM, not sure how to dump it yet. Will look in the forums and try to do it.

I had purchased a Dopod 818 from Taiwan , but the ROM inside was completely from O2. So i thought i will dump the ROM before upgrading, which i did. But the dump is 1GB ( my SD card is 1 GB ), so i am finding out a way to reduce the size coz the ROM takes less than 128MB space as i read somewhere here.

I had uploaded my O2 original dump ROM to ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Magician/Original O2 Dump ROM folder.
You have to use NTRW.exe to put it back into 128 MB. SD card. I got this file from our friend from thailand (Thanks to PDAmobiz.com, XDAmini). I didn't try yet. Because I'm happy with wwe 110 modified storage ROM. Please do it carefully.
I downloaded the rom image, write it to 256MB sd card using ntrw.exe, insert the sd card into my mini and do a boot loader by pressing camera+power+reset.
BUT after a few seconds, the text below is shown on screen...

After digging through the forum, finally found out that i need to replace the 1st 220H bytes in the given rom with device image 1st 220H bytes.
Everything seems ok now...

Did you finish your downgrade?
Nope... i'm on my way flasing ROM while i post the message...
After flasing is done, the screen shows checksum failed and i do a reset. Then my device dead...
So i was forced to use back the previous ROM in order to make my device alive again...

Dear Pehshin
I look carefully over the Original dump ROM. The header is not the same from my 110 modified storage dump ROM. I think we need to downgrade to any 1.03 ROM first and then copy the first .... byte. I don't know the exactly header byte from 1.03 ROM. After that copy it back to the download original rom. Then flash with the same fashion should be success. Do you?

I have such problem before I replace rom with 416 bytes. Try replace new rom with 416 bytes from old rom instead of 220 bytes.
This apply to CHT1.06 version

If you have registered with www.myxda.com you can download the original rom from there. It says camera patch but all the files are there, OS, RADIO and Extended ROM.

When you goto the support section, if you have registered yor O2 Mini decive it will be under the 'Your Devices' section. Click on the 'Get the latest patches, utilities, software and upgrades here' link.

I believe so. That should be what the VPA comes preloaded with, but to be honest, I was so excited to get English on it I never checked. But it is the VPA Compact from Deutsche Vodafone

That's what I thought, but it only got down to ~190 MB.... I'd be willing to throw it up on my FTP server if you want to give it a shot
no if it is the complete rom it hast a bit more than 64 mb (dont know the exeact value), you MUST use a 128 or bigger card. if you use a 128 mb card the rom file will be 128 big, if you use a 256 mb card it will bei 256mb.
it is always so big as the card is.
so we will be happy if you upload it on the xda-dev ftp...

ok, i`ve found it and already tried to flash it. better said, i´m currently on the way to flash the MDAc with this ROM.
I had little troubles, but after i have backuped my old ROM and changed the first 416 bytes of the german VPA rom it works..

now here's a dumb question... I'm thinking of restoring my VPA backup image so that I can steal some of the secondary rom cabs so that I have the vodaphone custumized settings. My phone is currently flashed to WWE 1.11. Do I need to copy the first 416 bytes of my WWE over my German one to install it?
Another stupid question:
I have a MDA compact with 1.01.01 ROM, no sim lock.
Is flashing with a new rom always preserving the sim lock status?
i.e. I will not end up with a vodafone sim lock?

You don't have to flash your magician.
Just take the cabs from the xda-dev ftp!
If you have an unlocked magician flashing won't lock it. The lock isn't part of the ROM!

Could it be that the described procedure (copy the first 416 bytes of the header etc.) just works fpr WWE ROM's? I tried to modify my German ROM 1.06 according this procedure...but without success....

Maybe you have to explain first, what you have tried, and what didn´t work....
1. As much as i know, there is now German 1.06 ROM with big storage. There only exists a version with the T-Mobile 1.01 ROM.....
2. Changing the first x bytes of the rom is neccesary to flash the ROM. That has nothing to do with big storage....

I am trying to make WM6 ROM for HP iPAQ rx5730.
The problem is that there is no any rom for this device. So i had to search common HP ROM and WM6 ROM.
I have WM6 ROM for SC32442, the drivers looking like WM5 of my device.
I have hpRUU v.3.4.0, only this version verify my device.
I found geman rom of HP 691(5,0), wrote little program to pack and unpack this rom, and packed with WM6 ROM. But the header of ROM is packed. I ran IDA and explored hpRUU, found the decode function and get unpack header. Then i turn off unpack function and put unpack header again pack into ROM. Then i fix some checks in hpRUU.exe. Now hpRUU verifies my ROM right, it puts iPAQ into bootmode and doesn't flash it. One time the iPAQ wrote "wrone signature".

Can anybody explain me the process of flashing PDA with CPU Sumsung SC32442 or HP PDAs?
(iPAQ 1950 ROM have two nbf file: CEBL.nbf and COES.nbf. But hpRUU v.3.4.0 doesn't undestand that ROM. May be i need some CEBL.nbf?)
How to dump the original bootloder to get CEBL.nbf?
(I made the OS dump with itsutils. This OS dump is packed and unpacked with imgftools too).
