backing up radio rom - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

I tried the romupdate.exe software to backup my XDA 2 Mini.
I used d2s 0 to backup my whole rom. But i found out that the Radio ROM is not backed up.
Is there anyway to backup the radio rom?

If its your still with the official ROM, I assume you didn't even create an ext partition yet.
Therefore, at this point you need the "Nand backup" option.
Assuming, you want to install a custom ROM with app2sd support (most custom ROMs), you will need to:
- backup the entire contents of your SD card to the computer (all data on card is lost in the next step!)
- repartition it through recovery, say to: 0 swap (unused), 512M ext2 (not ext3/4), and the rest for fat32.
- restore all files you backed up.
After you have made an ext partition and install a custom ROM, use "Nand + ext backup" to back it up.
Finally, restoring is always using the "Nand restore" option, regardless of which type of backup you made.
thanks a lot...

full backup. ROM Manager?

I'm not an android newbie, but yes a Galaxy newbie
I would like to perform a "full backup", but a rom backup (I know and use Titanium backup, but for application backup) not an "app backup".
So, If something will go wrong ..eheheh..
My are :
- I have OCLF.2.3.0 installed. Have to back to rfs fs before backuping with Rom backup?
- Will my app be backuped? So, Rom Backup will backup everything, excluding EXTERNAL SD data, but including INTERNAL SD and the app installed on it?
I have jp7 rom.

[Q] Full rom backup?

Hello, im looking if its possible to make a backup of full Rom. Im wanna try install nand android but im afraid to lose all data/settings and everything from my Wm rom.
Sorry for new thread.Peace.
Spb backup, sprite backup, sktools, resco backup.
Do a full backup using SPB Backup, this will save all your settings/SMS/etc onto your SD card. Download a copy of the ROM on your phone.
If you want to return to WinMo, then flash the ROM and run the SPB Backup retore file on the SD Card - this will put all your stuff back into WinMo.
Thanks guys.

Hello,
nandroid is a backup tool. It is run from recovery mode, and makes a copy of the internal memory of the phone and saves it on the SD-card. It can also backup the apps installed on the SD-card in the same manner. It is often used when flashing new roms to the phone, since it provides a means to fully restore the phone to the previous state.

Henrik
So if i did a nandroid back up on my phone it would back up everything onto my sd card and then restore it to its original state (ie nothing).

Yes, the nandroid image on the SD card is an exact copy of the relevant parts of the phones internal storage, so when doing a restore everything will be back as it were before. If, however, you have apps installed on the SD card using Froyos apps2sd (which stores the applications on the ordinary fat32 partition of the SD card) those applications is not backed up. Nandroid includes functionality for backing up apps installed on a ext partition, though.
Personally I use Titanium backup to backup applications when I'm changing ROMs.
Br,
Henrik
Does Nandroid overwite previously made backups, or will it make a new backup every time? In case of the latter, can you choose from recovery wich backup you want to restore?
(Before I flashed my Hero, I made a Nandroidbackup of the original ROM. I don't want risk loosing this backup when I make another Nandroidbackup.)
I think it overwrites, but i'm not sure.
No, it doesn't overwrite the old backups. You can choose which image to restore.

Henrik
Tanks for your reply!
