Imov - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

I upgraded to wm2003 with yorch's kitchen, which went fine. When I tried running the imov messenger I cooked into the kitchen (v1.07e) and the wizard wouldn't let me continue past the first page...when you click the OK button it just went back to the script screen.
So I downloaded the latest version from the website (v1.13) and installed it over the rom version. It seemed to run fine, and the wizard went through to completion, and I logged on. But for some reason it automatically clears everything but the last thing said, meaning I can't read a whole conversation, just the last message, which means if I leave it on and someone sends me more than one message I miss all but the last one. The imov I was using before (in the special edition ROM) didn't do this, so I know this isn't normal.
This is driving me nuts...does anyone have any ideas? If I install a new rom without imov in it and install it fresh into storage (bah...my valuable RAM!) does anyone know if it the newer version works correctly?
Or is there a kitchen with a newer version of the imov software available?
Thanks for you time!

WM2003 Rom showing as ver. 3.16 ?!?

I have just brewed my first rom in jeffs kitchen, using the 4.00.11 base.
I created it in .exe format so I can just load it through activesync, however when running the file, it runs through all the information before it upgrades and says the following :
Confirm the following information is correct and click next to begin the upgrade.
Current Rom : 3.17
Upgraded Rom : 3.16
Surely the upgraded rom version should be 4.00.11 ???
Can anyone just confirm this for me before I continue the upgrade.
Cheers
Yes it does show like that for some reason. I am not sure why. But it will work just fine.
I think it is used to fool the software and allow rom upgrades that are deemed to be "unsupported", by your hardware, the program used is called "adaptrom", if it wasnt for that you wouldnt be able to try out these different brews of rom and then return to the original if you want to. I am sure somebody will correct me if I am wrong.
Rom is now all installed 8) thanks guys.
One thing I have noticed though is that when you receive a text message and choose the reply option the backlight turns off after the set amount of time! even though you are using the device!
I'll have a play about with it a bit more tomorrow.
WM2003 4.00.11 btw
Cheers

I noticed similar weirdness with the backlight: Once it's in this mode, even if you manually turn it back on by holding the power button, it will once-again turn off after the time-out.
Doesn't happen to me often, and soft-reset always helps, but it's definitely a bug...

T-Mobile Wing Flashing

Hello everyone. I'm new to the website and I'm very interested in flashing my T-Mobile Wing. I just have a quick question for you guys. Is there anyway to go back to factory default, pretty much put in back to its original out of the box state if i flash the phone? Also, will i still be able to use the My Faves or does that have nothing to do with this? Thanks for all the help and i look forward to learning more about this.
Gigabit
Yes. You can download a T-Mobile Wing OEM RUU (search the forums for it) to get back to normal.
My Faves doesn't need the MyFaves app. I used MyFaves for about a year on my non-MyFaves Moto PEBL before getting the Wing. I just use Touch-IT 4.4 with the HTCHome plugin and just assign my myfaves numbers to the first 5 slots so 'simulate' the ease. I've always thought the MyFaves app was rather buggy, but there's a CAB floating around that you can install if you still want it. I just change my contacts via mytmobile online.
It's not too hard as long as you follow all the directions. Read them twice through if you have to.
thanks for the quick response. I just have one other question at this point. i've been look all over the place and cant seem to find what the newest version of Touch-It is. Can you please post a link to the newest version when every you have some time. I can't wait to get started.
Thanks!
Gig
These are the newest versions of Touch-IT.
NEW - Touch-IT v6.1.3 - Clean (updated with UC)
Touch-IT wm6.1 19199.1.0.0 - Full
Touch-IT wm6.1 19199.1.0.0 - ITsBlack
Touch-IT v4.4 and 4.41 WWE P4350
There was a small problem with the wm6.1 versions where the MMS wasn't working correctly, and I'm not sure if that has been fixed... but ITJE's roms are awesome and you can't go wrong with them.
You'll need to install my keyboard fix
KEYBOARD FIX for WING / HERALD & ROM hardware keyboard (keybddr.dll) mismatch
First off, Thank you so much for the fast responsces. Second, after a nice LONG day at the hospital with my daughter i sat down to start the flashing process. As i started reading some of the directions i saw something mentioned about Hard-SPL. My question to you guys is this: once i download the Touch version that i want, is that all i need? or do i need to look more into this and find Hard-SPL. please let me know whenever you have some time.
Thank You,
Gig
All you need to do is follow this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358225
HARDSPL is basically just flashing a rom.. so once youre done with it, all you have to do is install the Rom you want.
ok so, when i run Hard-SPL it starts to do its thing but stops at 4% and comes up with Update Error "Error 270". I've tried re-downloading the Hard-SPL file and uninstalled/reinstalled ActiveSync. I also installed all the .cab files in this order: canonyang, disablesecurity, asergpolicy, followed by a softrest. any ideas what the problem might be. Please let me know when you have some time. Thanks for all the help guys.
Gig
Try restoring back to the default ROM that comes from the factory by downloading it from the first post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321717
After that then try flashing with hard-spl and then to the new TouchIt.
By the way I recommend
Touch-IT wm6.1 19199.1.0.0 - Full
I have a T-mobile wing and that one works best for me. (of course you will have to run the keyboard fix cab and x-box cab as indicated in the previous posts after installing Touch-IT wm6)
i have yet to flash any ROM to the wing. it is still factory default. Should i still try to reinstall the new ROM using the link you provided? Thanks for all your help.
edit: after backing up all my crap i reinstalled the ROM using the RUU from the above post and everything went OK but I'm still getting the same Error when i try to run the Hard-SPL while in the bootloader screen i get "Error 270" at about the 2% mark. if i try to run the Hard-SPL while not in the bootloader screen i get "Error 202". please let me know if you have any other advice to get past this small issue.
Thanks,
Gig

Are you sure you ran the 3 cab files first (inside of the Wing with your stylus) and then did the softreset on your Wing (by pressing the little button on the side of your wing with the tip of your stylus) prior to running the ROM exe file (on your large desktop PC)?
The 3 cabs should be run in the order that is given.
yes, after i installed the 3 .cab files i did a soft reset. I held the camera button and pushed in the reset button with the stylus. then once i was in the screen with the different colors i ran Hard-SPL from my desktop computer.
edit:
after reading what i was typing i tried it again and it worked. just call me stupid. SOFT REST! those two words will hunt me forever. Thanks for all your help. not its time to start blowing crap up. lol
Thanks a bunch
Gig
If I remember the instructions, you're supposed to run the hardspl when the phone is running WM.... so basically, install the 3 cabs, reset, wait for it to reach your today screen... connect to activesync, then run hardspl.
that is correct sir. Thats how i was reading it but then doing it a different way. i dunno what i was thinking. Thank you so much for all your help. i have successfully installed Hard-SPL and Touch 4.4 full. I also over clocked from 201 to 247 with no issues. Applied your keyboard fix and the mms fix along with the Internet fix. all is working perfect. thanks again for all the help. i'll definitely will be browsing the sit more to see what else i can learn.
Thanks,

WMWifiRouter in new 6.1 ROM

Is WMWifiRouter working in the new official sprint WM 6.1 ROM that was recently released? (not the beta/test version, the official ship release)
Hi! You have to use the 1.5i version.
Hi again... ...just installed the 1.09 version and works great!!!
Hey all, one of the moderators suggested I put this post in here:
I’ve seen a few people here and at least one person over at PPCGeeks who have this issue, but no one has posted a way to resolve it.
Here’s the issue: I’m running the new stock 3.56 ROM on my Sprint Mogul. I installed WMWifiRouter 0.91, then removed it in favor of 0.80 (I read it had some advantages over 0.91). I believe I then uninstalled 0.80 to reinstall 0.91 and then decided to give WMWifiRouter the finger. I guess it knew I wanted to abandon it completely as it won’t let me uninstall it now. I get the following error:
“Jorrit Jongma WMWifiRouter was not completely removed. Do you want to remove it from the list of installed programs?”
I click “Yes,” but the program still stays on the list. If I try to reinstall it, it says the installation was unsuccessful.
I’ve tried the suggestions I’ve seen which include leaving the wifi switch on during the installation/uninstallation and simply deleting the folders, but nothing helps. Is there maybe a registry edit I can perform to just tear the program from my Mogul by force? I deleted all references I could find by doing a search with Resco Explorer, but still get the same error. How did such a clean little program become so messy? If it wasn’t so flakey I’d continue to use it.
You need to upgrade to the latest versions those old old versions are going to be flaky as the newer ones have had a lot of rewrites to them

I tried installing the new version, but the old program still remains on the list of installed programs as the two have different names. I was able to uninstall the new version (v1.09), but the old version is still stuck on there. The same error comes up when I attempt to remove it.
Thanks for the suggestion though.
sounds like a hard reset is in order...

Problem with MSN

Greetings all,
I just got my hands on an Xda IIs which was running wm2003 and i just upgraded it to Windows Mobile 6 with no dramas. Everything is working fine except when i try to install the Live.cab from the missing cabs archive, every time i try to install it it just comes and says 'Installation of live.cab was unsuccessful'. I have tried installing just the cab that came with rom and the WL_Install.exe method (That installs through ActiveSync) and i get the error everytime.
I followed the guide in the wiki and this is the only issue i am having with it at the moment. anyone have any clue what may be the cause of the issue or another way to install it? Or even another type of messenger program that connects to msn and such. (Sort of like trillian for the pc but for smart phones?)
I also only did what the guide said, but i have heard mention of installing radio or something like (For voice clarity and such?) is that something i still need to do and have missed or recommended? Any other good recommendations on apps or tweaks i should perform?
Sorry if this is a bit newbieish but this is my first time flashing and upgrading a phone and you gotta start somewhere right?
try the windows live from xplode's thread of WM6.1.. there you can find it bundled with the ROM.. mine works perfectly
PS:i'm using 20226 Xplode's WM6.1
Yep that did the trick. Thanks for that

Working and Stable (MSN) Messenger For Diamond

Having seen several threads for the installation and use of messenger on the diamond and after trying several unsucessful methods of installing...
I have tried installing all versions of Messenger (for the diamond), without complete success so thought I would try my collections that I downloaded for the other HTC devices that I have had and owned.
The most succesfull and stable was the previously downloaded the PocketMSN_HTCz.cab from this site. (I have accidentilly deleted this file - However a quick search of google will probably provide links to the file!)
Installtion of the PocketMSN_HTCz.cab will provide a stable and sucesfful installation.
Have fun IM'ing
Found this link but not tried it yet.
http://rapidshare.com/files/70640443/PocketMSN_HTCz.cab
msn live messenger is not stable
i use Palringo (www.palringo.com)
This version was very stable in my phone, with many different ROMs.
The version PocketMSN_HTCz.cab is a really old version, the one i posted is a bit newer.
cannot get to work palgorino,i want to add user and password after i press ok it says cannot sign in!?!?
Enter a correct password
Anyway i have been messing for hours with msn and windows live and nothing worked untill I stopped using a proxyserver (start/settings/connections/connection set up my proxyserver, and uncheck proxyserver). After that, it worked perfectly. hope this helps someone.
got it working
It works for me on an original French ROM from Orange
