if you are stuck in boot loop or having difficulty starting your phone, don't worry, there should be a way.
I have experienced this issue today after flashing wrong file causing my phone to stuck in boot loop. after searching in this forum and after spending over 3 hours, I finally managed to restore my phone and it is now working perfectly fine.
therefore, I thought of making a basic guide to try to resolve such issues. please note, this is a very basic guide to resolve problems with starting your phone, I am not professional but will try to share my experience and help anyone in need. this was done on X10i
lets start:
1- if you have a recent back up and have access to xrec, you can simply restore your phone
2- if you have access to xrec but don't have a backup, try to flash a new ROM
I tried the previous two steps but it kept saying can't mount SD, therfore try the following
3- if you don't have xrec access, use the flash tool
download from here http://www.multiupload.com/7H4JT35B6G
then flash generic 2.1 to your x10, I used this one http://www.mediafire.com/?sqv6274anzfzn2x
here is the guide on how to do it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10879528&postcount=3
I have had problem saying "install or re-install drivers", you just need to install the file in the drivers folder in the flash tool main folder and restart the flash tool program
4- after flashing this ROM, restart your phone and root it using the flash tool, after the root your phone will restart, then you need to ask for premession and click xrec to install xrec to your phone
5- before installing new ROM, please make sure that your baseband and karnel is compatible with it (because the ROM you flashed earlier has old karnel and you will be stuck again in the boot loop if you flashed 2.3.3 just like me, then you will need to start again and install new karnel before instaling 2.3.3 ROM or even restore 2.3.3 ROM)
(you can simply install the new ROM then restart in flash mode and flash the new karnel .71 or flash the karnel and restore your backup)
I know that my choices of flash tool version or generic 2.1 version might not be the best, but I used them and resolved my issue and hope it will resolve yours. for any question please do not hesitate to ask me.
credits to everyone who helped, I can't remember everyone because I read quite a lot so please forgive me
nice post my friend
In flash tool I'm getting an error:
ERROR - USB\VID_0FCE&PID_ADDE\5&2BFAB030&0&5
any idea what to do?
it sounds to me that u may need to install the semc flash drivers.. inside the flashtool u may find a folder named drivers, go inside of that folder and install ggsetup.. also do u have pc companion installed?

can you post the log from the flash tool so I can see at which step exactly this massage came up
I am fairly novice when it comes to flashing so here's a pretty dumb question:
I have an X10a, can I use the X10i software that you've linked in your post or is it just going to brick my phone.
hello everyone
i hav x10i and i wanted to flash the alpha1 port of ICS..
i had stock kernel but thn i flashed 2.69 zdzihu's kernel and directly flashed zidzihu's ICS file thru recovery and now my x10 is stuck at sony ericsson logo
reason for not following the steps tht were on the guide were that the kernel included in the download zip which i downloaded from here was tht i was unable to flash tht kernel as the flashtool used to give me output :
27/021/2011 01:21:01 - INFO - Flashing kernel.sin
27/021/2011 01:21:01 - ERROR - Error flashing. Aborted
27/021/2011 01:21:01 - INFO - Now unplug the device and power it on
27/021/2011 01:21:01 - INFO - Then go to application settings
27/021/2011 01:21:01 - INFO - turn on Unknown Sources and Debugging
i HAD debugging and unknown resources ON but still it wasnt flashing so i did it the way i mentioned above.
now i have no clue wat to do
please HELP
thanks
flash again but try use the original 2.3 rom ftf file should fix it but then ya might have to root again happened to me
thanks a lot mate.
one more thing.. do i need to unlock the BL for ics?
depends which ics rom av used thgo2 ics versoin av got locked boot loader at the moment am using miui cobrato its super fast and stable ask in the thread of ics am sure they will help
Hi,i'm really a noob and i'm here to request help.
I've read almost all the development thread, but I never tried to do something on my own phone. Now I want to simply root it,I have the stock rom with v10k firmware.
Should I use the prerooted v10k or the root+cwm+unlocked bootloader mod? I saw someone talking about installing cwm from the Rom Manager app (in order to install cm10)
I'm waiting for a more stable cm10,now i just want root. What should I do? Flash prerooted v10k,unlock bootloader and then install cwm from the app or just flash the all-in-one mod?
Thanks to anyone that can provide me with a idiotproof guide to this (by the way I use the phone mostly with wifi and 3g)
- Link to installation procedure of a prerooted V10K ROM.
- Link to installation procedure for Bootloader unlock and installation of CWM Recovery.
Try these procedures! It helped me a lot
Ok,I'll try to flash them separately.
Flashing the v10k prerooted rom will do it? No wifi fix like for the deodexed one?
Yes, it will! I did it and it did not asked me to fix anything. It works very well.
I have two questions:
1) If I install the official drivers with the LG Support Tool and then I connect the phone,Windows Update tries to search drivers. What I have to do? The first time i tried to flash,KDZ stopped responding right after i clicked "Lauch Software Update" and a (if i remember the name correctly) mod.cab file appeared on desktop.
2) I have to connect the phone with Media Sync (MTP) or with PC Software? I read two guides on How To Flash Stock Firmware on L7 and one says Software PC,one says USB Storage.
Thanks
It's completly normal to the KDZ stop responding. It force close when it ends.
And you have to connect with PC Software!
Yes,it worked
I was kinda worried to do this, thank you
Hello
well i also faced this issue,if ur not aware of it then let me explain a liitle.. if you have upgraded to the latest version via OTA then there are some patch files in the system which do this trick.. so in order to get permanent recovery if u flashed it via ur phone with apps like flashify or recovery tools then you need to go to
System and there you will see a file with name Recoveryfromboot.p just delete that file and flash chinese cwm and ur done :]
btw i'll try to build the english cwm as soon as i get some free time.. thanx to burakgon for releasing the kernel sources..
Thanks simmer14, works perfectly after removing that file from system. So that confirms it's not bootloader lock issue. No idea why custom kernels and twrp not working then?

i will build the cwm for our phone but i'm not getting any time to sit in front of my pc :'(
edit :
custum kernels are not working ? did you tried to compile one from the sources ? or the sources are not complete ?
I didn't tried to compile anything, but some guys did here -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2712586
If you want, you can take a look there and contribute in your own way to resolve the issue. Thanks for your efforts so far though.
NOTE :I AM NOT A DEVELOPER.THIS IS JUST THE FINAL RESULT OF MY "HIT & TRIAL" FOR OVER A WEEK.PLEASE MAKE A BACKUP IN TWRP OF UR SYSTEM BEFORE DOING THIS.
INSTALLING FULLY FUNCTIONAL MAGISK WAS REALLY TROUBLESOME FOR ME(E6533)
sometimes it was showing error while flashing
SOMETIMES it was flashed without error but system failed to reboot/bootloopedcredits:
@topjohnwu for magisk
I have tested this and is working fine in my xperia z3+ dual(E6533)...but m sure it will work with all models of z3+/z4.so try it & let others know it.
PREREQUISITES:
1.ur firmware/rom must be nougat 7.1. [please dont try on MM/LP]
2.USB DEBUGGING AND INSTALLATION OF UNKNOWN SOURCE MUST B ENABLED.
2.FIRMWARE should be un-rooted[ if u have installed supersu/tried magisk earlier/failed/erronous attempt of installing magisk.........then use unsu.zip /magisk uninstaller before proceeding]
3.the boot image(new_kernel) over which magisk will be installed is stock nougat 7.1.1 so this method will work in any rom which can be booted via stock boot image.eg.it will work on m-rom and stock (m sure of it)
4.twrp must be installed
5.basic knowledge of fastboot commands for flashing kernel
lets start....
1.in twrp first of all clean any traces of supersu/failed magisk installation by flashing "unsu.zip or magisk uninstaller"
2.power off ur device and then flash the "new_kernel.img via fastboot....use these commands
a.imp to check whether the kernel will boot in ur device or not (if this step shows any error, plz dont proceed to b.
in cmd window : fastboot boot new_kernel.img
b.to flash the kernel
in cmd window :fastboot flash boot new_kernel.img
IMP:steps 1 & 2 are can also be used when u have met with an unexpected bootloop/restart problem at any time( if u don't want to flash the complete stock ftf, this boot image will help u in letting ur device come out of bootloop.
3.proceeding to our main thread....now boot into recovery & flash "magisk.zip"
4.wipe cache & dalvik.and reboot.
PROPERTIES OF THE KERNEL (new_kernel.img:---

u can try flashing magisk over stock.but whenever i did that my device used to go into bootloop.thats why i've to experiment with different twrps, kernels to detect the culprit.
finally i got this awesome kernel which helped me to come out of bootloops everytime.so i will suggest to use this [near to stock ] kernel .
but u can try flashing magisk over stock.....if anything goes wrong ,,,just flash the new_kernel,,and ua fine to go with magisk.
Thnx. I will try & let u know.
thank u sirThis kernel help me from bootloop .how did u make this kernel

creating a separate thread isn't a good idea ,i'll update the details of the kernel in this thread itself, plz give me some time.
Kernel properties added.
Wait... Installing Magisk caused a bootloop for you? Never happened to me tho.

i got frequent bootloops on installing it over stock kernel and also over m-rom .i think the kernel was the culprit.
Recently I unlocked the bootloader of my Z4 single sim (E6553), but I accidentally lost the TA partition backup. Now I have LOS 14.1 but it's not good at all, I want to return to the stock firmware.
I read here that this kernel have the "DRM Fix- enabled." , what means? If I flash this kernel I can use again every features like BionZ, Bravia Engine, etc ?

Hopefully yes,flash it as instructed.best of luck:good:
Anyone tested if the Kernel is "DRM FiX ready"? Im planning to root my Z3+ (E6533) without backing up my TA, but if this Kernel is equipped with DRM Fix I would go with this one.

confirmed!! this kernel is the ****!.. try it... (don't blame me if you brick your device)
The link to download the kernel won't work anymore, is there a mirror?
