[Q] One click to end call - GT540 Optimus General

On any other phone I have, when I wont to terminate call I only need to press ONCE red button ( hang up)
But on LG 540 when you wont to end call you must press twice: once to put display from sleep and second time to really end call.
On opposite on CG 2.2.1 call terminated as I should: one click and display is up, and call is ended.
Is it possible to this behavior translate to 2.1? Or maybe any application do that?

Lock Phone During Call

Is there a way to lock down the touchscreen during a call? A lot of times when I am done with a call there are numerous applications that have been opened with my cheek.
Thanks
Try phonealarm it can turn off screen
I think you can actually just press the standby button once you're in the call, and it doesn't affect the call, just switches the screen off.
Perhaps I am a blockhead but I do not see a standby button.
Standby button = power button
It works - just press the power button after you start the call, then it locks down all the keys for you.
Both the standby button and PhoneAlarm work to blank off the screen. The problem is when the screen is blanked off or in other words the PDA is switched off the call timer stops recording the call duration. For example make an outgoing call and blank off the screen and when you have finished the call check your call history. The outgoing call length will show only the duration it took you to blank off the screen. This can be a problem if you are keeping a record of your outgoing calls for billing purposes.

Not on mine! I can hit standby to run the screen off, then simply hit it again to turn the screen back on to see how long the current call has taken.
But even if your's doesn't offer that option, WM6's call history is seriously beefed up - with the option to review individual call details, and to delete individual calls.
The standby button works great, thanks. As to paying for an application like phonealarm for this, I was about to borrow a line from caddy shack:
"I ain't payin no fifty cents for no coke"

I've found that it all depends:
1) You put it in standby when it's ticking already and another patry ends a call - you get only the time between start call and going to standby.
2) You put it in standby when it's ticking already and YOU end a call by pressing the red hangup button - you get the real call duration.
3) You put it in standby before it starts ticking and another patry ends a call - you get zero duration.
4) You put it in standby before it starts ticking and YOU end a call by pressing the red hangup button - you get zero duration.
5) If you turn the screen on during a call for some reason and then turn it off again - you get the time when you turn off the sceen for a second time if the other patry ends a call, or you get the real one if YOU end a call with a red button.
comments anyone?
I'd like to find a solution to turn off the screen during a call but be able to see the real call duration.

How to keep from answering my 8525 when it's ringing

I noticed that every time my phone rings I can't get it out of the case without answering the call. I like to be able to view who is calling and decide if I want to take the call or not.
When I take it out of the case I must be hitting a button that causes it to answer. It seems like it will answer if ANY button is pressed, not just the green phone button or the left smart key.
I have my phone set to auto lock after a few minutes and the phone is actually locked when the call comes in.
How do I set my phone to only answer if I press the green phone button?
I'm running the standard AT&T ROM version 2.15.502.3 with radio ROM 1.40.30.00.
I have learned to be a bit more careful when pulling it out of the case.

End Call

After ending a call, why does the keypad appear.
And can it be removed, or turn off so that when i end a call it just ends the call and goes back to the home page of turn screen off

i have used advanced config to change the end call delay to 0 instead of three seconds but it still happens!!
there are already threads on this, and no sloutions yet. also try 5 or 10 millisceonds to end call. works for me.
just wait 3 seconds and keyboard dissapear

[Q] How to retrive call from hold

I'm having strange problem with calls on hold. This is Android 2.2 (Desire Z ROM on T-Mobile HD2). Here is my scenario
During Call1, second call (Call2) comes in. I answer Call2 and automatically Call1 goes on hold. Good so far. Once I'm done with Call2, I disconnect Call2. But ... Call1 is still on hold. It does NOT automatically become active. And I do not see any way on "UnHold" it There is red button "End Call" on screen. There is notification about call "on hold" in notification (top) bar. But there is no button, no nothing which could help me RETRIEVE Call1 from hold.
Any ideas ?
Calls on hold can be unholded by pressin the windows flag, the option is there, and to switch between calls, after you are done with call 2 tap on call one and normally you should switch to that call, but either way thats where its located.
Thanks. Used to WM way of handling "Hold" where everything is on screen.

if you have a custom rom installed, check your rom thread for remapping the hard keys to end a call. also, your call should end automatically when the other party ends the call. unlock the screen and hit the end call soft button.
